原始神母の今年の第１弾は、昨年やる予定でできなかった『原子心母 / Atom Heart Mother』トリビュート。
1970年発表のピンク・フロイドの4thアルバム『原子心母 / Atom Heart Mother』は、日本では初来日(1971年)の時点の最新アルバムということで、日本のフロイドファン第１世代の人たちにとっては特に親しみのあるアルバムだと思う。
アルバムのタイトル曲でもある、１曲目の「Atom Heart Mother」は当時のLPレコードではA面全部の大曲だが、自分にとってもフロイドのリビュートをやりたいと思ったきっかけの一つはこの曲だった。フロイドのメンバー４人の独自な発想と演奏にプラス前衛音楽家のロン・ギーシンにアレンジを依頼し、大人数のコーラス、ブラス隊、チェロを使った、一つの巨大で幻想的な音の体験。
曲のセクションが変わっていくごとに、次々と現れる魔の世界。ギタリストの自分にとっての驚きは前半に出てくる非常にこもったスライドギターのプレイ。その音は衝撃だった。エレキギターとしてはもっとも地味な音を巨大に、魅惑的に表現するその感性には本当にびっくりしたし、その音を理解した瞬間に新たな表現の可能性の領域が自分の中で広がったと感じた。もう一つは後半に出てくるブルースギターのソロ。それはまるで、吸血鬼が空っぽの館でブルースを弾いているような不思議なブルースだ。それまでのフロイドでは意図的に避けてきたブルースギターをブルースとは全く違う領域で鳴らしたことはのちの『狂気』や『炎』などへとつながり、ピンクフロイド、ギタリストとしてのギルモアの可能性を大きく変えたと思う。そして何よりも素晴らしいのは５分近く続くコーラスパート。やっぱりこれも吸血鬼のイメージがする。その他にもブラスの大胆なアレンジや効果音、グルーヴィーでアバンギャルドなコーラスパート。どこを取っても異世界であるフロイドの音楽の中でももっとも異世界であり、なおかつ素直に感動的な印象が残る素晴らしい曲なのだ。原始神母は第１回目のライヴからこの曲を演奏してきたが、今回は50周年ということで、コーラス、ブラス隊、チェロのミュージシャンなどを招いて、初めてフルバージョンで演奏する予定です。
そしてB面の美しく、小さな曲の数々も含めて、50周年ということでの全曲再現。この貴重な機会を大好きな人も、まだ知らない人もぜひ体験してください。

最近ヤフオクで落としたＢＯＳＥ８０２で８０年代の洋楽を聴いてます。すばらしい音量です。
3:35 I like how the recording has them playing with "other" stuff" in the background. One love to the world. One life energy.
邦題「炎」、ＬＰレコード46年前に買いました。中一だったと思います。ジャケットを覆うように、紺ぽいフィルムで包まれてました。当時は異様なレコードでしたね。聴くとすばらしい！すぐにとりこになり、後追いで「狂気」「おせっかい」「原子心母」も買って聴きまくりましたね。高1になり、「アニマルズ」にはまった。そのころ、クイーンもすごかった。
ロックアルバムに管楽器サックスがさえて新鮮でしたね。

This is part of an amazing set of music I honestly never expected to hear in such excellent form, but here it is with everything one loves about Pink Floyd. Thank you Chicken George Ensemble for this is a ray of light, and peace. in a season of humankind when we all need a little depth to our lives beyond academics and beyond the horror movie of politics going on around us. Chicken George, so well done and beautifully presented. Like, what song is not perfect in its origin and here, MUDMEN!!! Right? Digging into the world of music often hidden int the mountains, obscured by clouds and singing to the racing bright flashes of light that is Astronomy Domine and Atom Heart Mother, of Shining diamonds and THE GREAT GIG IN THE SKY!!! This concert is a master class on master works. Again, thank you Chicken George, and to bookend it with One of These Days and THE NILE SONG?! One of the rock fest joy of joys laying out a beat with clean David Gilmore powerchords. Yes, I am laying it on pretty thick but I don''t know how else to express one of the best sets of live music around.
This Guys and ladies plays and sing as they invent the music!! They give Pink Floyd a new life and give new generations a point of wye!

I used to be a member of the band in the early 80s to early 90s (now I was here in Kuwait 18 years now) my band just performing simple Pink Floyd music like "mother" in the flesh / reprise,,,another brick in the wall,,,but we never try like what you covered like this one,,,I frankly say that---we can't do it,,but you guys,,,you nailed it all,,,,bravo,,,

The first performance of 2021 (originally planned for 2020) will be the 50th anniversary of Pink Floyd’s “Atom Heart Mother” performed in it’s entirety. This reproduction will feature a fully orchestrated accompaniment of brass, woodwinds, and choir. A special pre-show event will present selected video clips of Pink Floyd Trips video taped performance from November 23rd, 2018 at Club CITTA, in Kawasaki, Japan.

How can you make it sound just like the real one ? If I had come across this one in 1988 when I was a beginner as a Pink Floyd fan , I would have thought of you as real Pink Floyd.

Not having a bass guitar really cripples the performance of this piece. It feels very lacking. The keyboard bass isn't cutting it at all.
6:50以降7:59は本物はバスドラとスネアだけだが、ここでもライドをたたいてる。7:59以降で本物はハイハットがはいり、もりあげ感があるのだが、終始ライドで終わってしまっている。終板も本物はハイハットたたいてるが、これはライドのみ。ライブ映像だからしかたないといっちゃあそれまでだが、完全なコピーバンドをめざすなら、そこまで追求してほしかったと思います。いろいろ悪口コメントですみません。
ドラムのひと、終始ライドしかたたいていない。ハイハットも使ったメリハリのある感じがほしい。おしい！その他は完璧です＞
終板のところで、やはりシンセじゃなく、本物管楽器ＳＡＸがいいな。あと、ドラマーの人、ほとんどライドシンバルしかたたいてない。ハイハットシンバルのいい箇所や、バスドラとスネアだけの箇所もすべて、ライドシンバルを使っているのが残念！
申し訳ないです。原曲にこだわってました。ライブなので、レコード原曲にする必要ないですもんね。どうもこだわってしまうたちなんで！ライブなのに原曲に限りなく近いすばらしい演奏なので！
