I mean, imagine watching trailer for a final season of the show that has been running for many years - ofc "who are these people" is a legit question. While people who were waiting for expansion were also not understanding what is going on, because, well, there was still intrigue. Also they kinda showcased new classes and places that players were going to in this expansion and a bit more. You got the evil part pretty well. Everyone loves to hate Fandaniel (guy in the cloak) and people have very mixed feelings about Zenos (the blonde guy)
The whole trailer was a 10 years in the making culmination of a story, and the song is its own thing, but each segment is basically from each part of the game and expansion leading to endwalker each had their own song which was its own theme. there are older trailers that can lead you up to endwalker that are worth a watch , its awesome because it shows the default male char evolve through the trailer, hes suppose to be you in the game (even though you can customize it) ruclips.net/video/5SGvjXzTKkY/видео.html the trailers
If you want some context, this is the culmination of several story arcs in Final Fantasy XIV. The end of the world has finally come, hastened by the handsome devils in that creepy tower. You'll have to venture to the Moon and beyond to stop the Final Days with your happy band of elvish twins, a grumpy dragon knight, and highly literate catfolk. Also two handsome dads.
The guy saying he won't help is also the Twins' dad, so extra stress as the Scions of the Seventh Dawn fight to save the world, he stays non-interventionist and has some secret plan of his own...
@@GOTGames Something to add to this, BECAUSE this game was the culmination of a decade-long story in FFXIV, the song is literal themes from previous expansions, mixed with a new theme from Endwalker itself. If you want to hear some of those themes, the time stamps: - Beginning is obviously the Endwalker theme song - 3:19 - The Heavensward theme (albeit, it's been semi-rockified, and features one of the main characters from the expansion) - 4:15 - The Stormblood theme (also, heavily rockified, and also features the main villain of the expansion) - 5:09 - More Endwalker themes, including the "Final" theme of sorts - "With Hearts Aligned" - 6:27 - The Shadowbringers theme (surprisingly, not rockified, and still sounding excellent) - 6:35 - Return to the Endwalker theme I highly suggest watching some of the cinematic trailers to get a better sense of each expansion, and the themes they brought to this one song.
This record was granted 8 years ago near the tail-end of Heavensward too! There's since been 3 more expansions with hundreds of new music composed in each.
@@TheRawred and if you ever even think of streaming it, even having the intro music on the main menu while talking to chat will get your vod muted, they are very strict with copyright laws
@@pezdispencer113 all of the trailers have spoilers not only HW, but the ARR one have 2 versions, with one showing what happens after. So why take the one that replace this by the Raid cutscene when you have literally the one that welcomed every single new and 1.0 player ?
@@Izentahmed this, the true cinematic timeline would really be the answers from the 1.0 days because it was there first, if you want to be technical about it, and then the ARR cutscene second
This piece was specifically made for Endwalker. It is a mix of all the previous expansions themes as well as it's own lyrics. As this expansion is the end of the arc that was going on for the last 10 years. So the production value and quality of the cinematics continued to get better and better as we went along. The main brown haired human that is shown in all the trailers is supposed to represent our character.
Please keep in mind that this was the latest trailer of a story that's been going for 10 years. So just be aware you kinda just took a peek at the last chapter of a novel. And as someone that's been playing since open beta... its been a hell of a journey...
Each numbered Final Fantasy is considered a diferent title, diferent universe even. As such, you don't need knowledge of previous games to play one. Some do have sequels, spin-ofs etc, but show to wich ones, like all the final fantasy VII ones. What they tend to share is monsters, magic, some recuring names and having to deal with some kind of powerful/magical cristals.
true and kinda not true, with 14, if you have played all of the previous games, you can appreciate the fact that they are bringing in extra tidbits of information from their other titles (this isnt a spoiler, since im not saying exactly what, and some of them you can only see if you do optional content anyway) and that alone, going out of their way to design, code, and incorporate stuff involving their previous titles and making it relevant to this one, i find special
@@jamesw8698 While it's definitely a treat to see things from previous games in XIV, my point was that it isn't necessary to know them to enjoy the experience
@@inukyubi9566 true, thats why i included most of it being optional content, and if not optional, you dont even know its from a previous title in the first place, so it doesnt take away from the story, but knowing it i feel adds more since it shows they are a company that doesnt throw away older projects once they are finished
As an FF 14(yes the number is 14) player, the story and music is soo amazing. Some of the best story I have ever experienced. And the music throughout the game are masterpieces. I can’t put into words the love I have for this game and how it has helped me through rough times. This game holds a very special place in my heart and I’m glad you’ve gotten around to listening to the music! I highly recommend the game! But I will warn you, the story is a long journey, but it’s sooo worth it I highly recommend the Shadowbringers trailer next!
Shadowbringers and Endwalker expansions for FFXIV are the best RPG stories I have ever read/played, If not my favorite story of all time. Absolutely beautiful works of art.
Although I loved the reaction, I think "Shadowbringers" works better as a single standing cinematic trailer. Also, the music on FF14 is all made specifically for the game. The Scions are the good guys (The 2 guys in the market, the cat-lady, the cat-boy in the library, and the two white haired twins) and help the main char: the guy in armour (that represents your own self made character) against the blond and robed guys on the tower. I highly recommend the game, it's my favourite game and Story of all time.
Final Fantasy 14 has one of the best stories ever told in a video game, combined with one of the best soundtracks in any medium ever. I hope one day you will be able to experience this masterpiece.
Honestly, I never expected you would do this. I've been loving this game, been playing for a bit under 2 years. It tells such an incredible story, that I highly recommend it to anyone who has any interest in a good RPG.
oh hey! It's my game!!! Now imagine being a player and this drops. We were SO confused and excited and just vibrating out of our skins!!! This was the cinematic for the latest expansion drop. They drop this then said: See you in the Fall! We were gnawing our keyboards! That was more of a medley but it was great. Really got the blood pumping.
Cool ! But would have been even better to react to them in release order . At least Shadowbringer will give you a similar vibe with a singing part . Also for the context , not only are the songs made for the game , but they also heavily feature remixes of music for older Final fantasy titles .
I am sure you have heard already, but FYI; FF14 is a critically acclaimed MMORPG you can get the Realm reborn ( base game ) plus first expansion Heavensward for free and level up to 60 I think. they trailer you just watched is from the Expansion Endwalker and they currently are working on the next expansion after that. I would suggest watching the trailers in order and be aware the trailers will have spoilers if you want to stay spoiler free. I am 55 and my two adult children got me into playing and I LOVE this game and the community. Realm Reborn was because the developers literally blew up Final Fantasy 14 in its original form because it was bad and so the destroyed it and then reforged it so to speak. I would highly highly recommend.
I 100% recommend to reacting to these in order for the experience as it has a following story: A Realm Reborn -> Heavensward -> Stormblood -> Shadowbringers -> Endwalker
The best thing is that there is one trailer for each expension of the game, this is the culmination of the 10 years history since the new FF14. You can watch first thing "A realm reborn" trailer , it's the starting point, then "Heavensward" , "Stormblood" , and finaly "Shadowbringer" which take place just before Endwalker. Yeah you missed some extra information before endwalker :) but this is fine.
Fun fact the endwalker cinematic song is incorporating small parts of the theme songs of every previous expansion as it is the culmination of the story arc of the base game and the previous expansions.
What I love about the EW cinematic is how they combined all the music from the previous expansion cinematics into on as a culmination of the end of the Hydaelyn and Zodiark arc. If you are intetested you can check the following cinematics in order: 1. A Realm Reborn 2. Heavensward 3. Stormblood 4. Shadowbringers Last one is Endwalker but you've seen it already. I think you will love the Shadoebringers music since J think its on par with Endwalker in my opinion.
If you like big epic army clashes, you'll definitely love the A Realm Reborn cinematic for Final Fantasy XIV. There are 2 versions of it: A New Beginning and Flames of Truth. A New Beginning is more or less the trailer that was released along with the reboot of the game, whereas Flames of Truth is the same cinematic, but with an alternate ending that gives context for how events played out.
yes, the song is amazing. it's called Footfalls. and the female singer that reminds you of Amy Lee is Amanda Achen, she also sings Tomorrow and Tomorrow from FFXIV Shadowbringers and Flow from FFXIV Endwalker as well as makes a guest appearance in FFXIV Community Sings Close in the Distance. "Are we gathering the Avengers or something?!" in a way, you could say that, in the fact that this is the culmination of 10 years of storytelling. watching this is like starting a book in the final chapters or a series in its final season's finale. honestly, i can't recommend this game enough but it is a big game with a long story, so i could understand if that's too much for you. maybe find a gamer you like that plays the game and watch them go through msq?
song was made for the game, SE has their own band (The Primals) who performed the song, and they have their own orchestra for composition of game music as well.
Final Fantasy XIV is an Online MMORPG, with a heavy emphasis on its story. Endwalker is the final piece to the overarching story that’s been told since A Realm Reborn, the rerelease of the game in 2013. I’d say you should give the game a go, however it would be a time commitment. That aside, I do feel like you should react to the other cinematic trailers. They go in order from: A Realm Reborn Heavensward Stormblood Shadowbringers Then finally Endwalker. I hope you’re having a great day ❤
I would recommend watching the "FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn - End of an Era" since that is the trailer/cinematic you first see when you start the game.
I was thinking yesterday that you'd love the trailer for Endwalker and even more the one for Shadowbringers of Final Fantasy XIV (14). In my opinion the one for Shadowbringers (and the music principally) is better, but to each their own ! Endwalker is by no mean bad, even by comparison, it's and excellent trailer, visually as well. But yeah, I guess you need to be an FFXIV player to understand every piece of the trailer and why it's a damn masterpiece. From what you see, to what you hear. A full on analysis of this trailer would probably way too long I Highly recommand the game, but mostly... Check the Shadowbringers extension trailer, you WILL love it
All of the songs were written majority from the Composer Soken. The game is an MMORPG, but Reborn & Heavensward are Free to Play if you did want to get into it. A lot of this song is a mix of all the previous expansions songs together which is why it is so special. As well this expansion ends an entire *Epic Saga* which makes this special as well that started with A Realm Reborn. And we progress into a new journey in most of the patches after the initial expansion for Endwalker.
it actually goes back into the initial 1.0 release too, despite it being a failure, the devs didn't completely scrap it and kept it relevant to the main story, the original 1.0 cinematic even gets a nod in the Shadowbringers cinematic.
I can't watch ANY of these cinematics without almost crying. Every time. Look at my babies all grown up, kicking ass and saving the world AGAIN. EPIC. My favorite video game of all time.
While this is a MMO, it can also be played like any other RPG, you just have to queue up with some peeps to do certain things. It has a great story, great characters, great soundtrack and much more. If you do decide to play this game, maybe on stream since a lot of FFXIV players LOVE to react to other people going through this game and see how they experience what they have experienced, the game does have a FREE TRIAL that lasts up until you finish the 2nd expansion.
As of the upcoming (as in, literally tomorrow) content update all of the dungeons and some of the Trials that you /have/ to complete can be done with NPCs backing you up.
Song was made for the Endwalker expansion of FFXIV specifically, and nostalgic parts/leitmotifs of other expansions' and the base game's themes were mixed into it. While the base game and some mechanics kinda persist within the title, each expac has a different main theme and can be treated as a continuation or a separate game due to the hours of content you can enjoy upon purchase, until the next one comes out in ~2 years. The earworm parts of the main theme make its way in the general themes of the expansion itself - battle music, NPC dialogue and downtime ambient sounds, etc. :) Usually the theme song has a few arrangements as music in boss fights in dungeons, plus a few more places like penultimate expansion (the pilot X.0 patches) bosses, and finale encounters before the new expacs (sometimes).
Most Final Fantasy games are self contained, So you don't need to worry about a particular order when playing them just play whichever happens to catch your eye!
They do have a lot of amazing music in the game and in their trailers! If you are familiar with the band "Architects" the front singer of them is the male voice in the song
The song is actually a medly of songs, during the scene with the dragon its a remix of the Heavensward theme, the music changes to a remix of the theme from Stormblood.
Gosh. Played several FF instalments when i was much younger and they brought me so much joy. Good music scores, breathtaking cinematica and gorgeous characters seem to remain a staple in the franchise
Shadowbringer cinematic is my favorite. Truly epic emotions, and makes the Job mechanic cannon. I REALLY want to see a boss fight that disables your weapons and makes you swap jobs mid fight ^_^
As a ffxiv addict I am so happy to see you reacting to this. Yeah context is a bit hard as this is years of story culminating into one epic final. Loved your open mouth stare near the end. Very good reaction XD
This is very much made for this game. This expansion is the culmination of 7 years of story telling. The music for this trailer reflects it, it combines the trailer themes for all expansions leading up to it. Endwalker is the end of the original story arrlc. It ties off all loose ends and resolves the story. So this trailer and song is very much a reflection of that.
Not gonna lie, I started playing this game July 2022 and it's been the game I have played the most in my entire life Story depends on the expansion but the general consensus in the community is 4th is the one of the greatest story ever written, 5th almost as great, 2nd is awesome, 1st get the pace going and 3rd the worst but still an adventure to be hold. Music is literally the reason I started playing this game because a guy named Soken made a plethora of boss music, ambience music and whatnot, a marvel to just hear what people can create. You should definitely react to A Realm Reborn and the other expansions if you feel like it. If you don't plan on playing it u can probably watch them regardless of order. You'll find all sorts of characters and many plot twists Gameplay is 10/10 as far as MMORPG like just so good when you get the hang of it. Really a wonder of a game.
It's worth noting that pretty much every final fantasy game is a distinct game set in a different world with a plot unrelated to the other games in the series. They are tied together by some recurring themes, monster designs, and so on. For example, they all have big yellow birds called chocobos that are used as mounts. Final fantasy 14 is one of the MMO games in the series. If you want to play it, you'll need to be prepared for the time sink. That said, it's very worth it. This trailer is for the most recent expansion of the game, so its stacked on a large amount of lore. And yes, all the music is written for the game. This game is particularly good with its music.
Final Fantasy XIV is an MMORPG that leans VERY heavily on its RPG roots. It's not an exaggeration when people tell you that playing FFXIV is like playing 5 full-length JRPGs in a trench coat since the game and its expansions are played in order. A Realm Reborn -> Heavensward -> Stormblood -> Shadowbringers -> Endwalker If you decided to dive in, you will find that ARR can be slow at times since it has the herculean task of building up such a massive game world that actually feels lived in. Expansions don't have to do anywhere near as much since ARR set the foundation for them to build off of. Unlike most MMORPGs, nearly all of the side content that has been released over the years is still doable now when you want to go off the beaten path for a little bit, and the devs also keep it all relevant even now with all of the updates they've made to ARR alone. EDIT: I totally forgot to mention that the male vocalist is Sam Carter of the Architects and the female vocalist is Amanda Achen who has done many, many songs over the years.
You're basically watching the trailer for the final season of a long-running show (Final Fantasy XIV being the show, not the season)! :D Hence all the characters, factions, and dialogue that seemingly means nothing. The song has a lot of original elements but is also a sort of medley of prominent songs from previous expansions.
the Scions, is referring to the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, a group of like-minded heroes without allegiance to any kingdom, who try to stop calamity from befalling the world. the cat lady is Y'Shtola, and she is a fan favorite character
Been playing since HW, honestly one of the best games I’ve ever played. There’s so much to do and see and the player base (mostly) are so friendly and helpful and it’s honestly just such a welcoming game, cannot recommend it enough
This hits so much harder if you know the story and all the little musical leitmotifs in this song that reference other parts of the story, I've watched this so many times lol
There's roughly 400 hours of story going on in Final Fantasy 14 spread out over 10 years the first part called 1.0 is not playable anymore but from A Realm Reborn all the story is still there. having a slow build up in the start as you get introduced to the world and they start setting up dominoes. Then throughout expansions they expanded the world introduced more characters and mysteries and started tipping some of the dominoes they set up int he first game and finally in Endwalker they throw all the leftover dominoes. The game as a whole is a journey and if you will stream it players that have played it will flock to your channel to see you live through the emotions and heartbreak and epic moments and relive those moments through you...Final fantasy 14 players are emotional vampires.
As someone with around 2000 hours in the game, this game is a commitment. The story alone is like 300 hours and large parts are of arguable quality. But don't ever say that as the community will sooner burn you at the stake than admit that the story isn't the greatest thing ever writen.
Been playing this for about 7 years now, so I love seeing new people getting into FFXIV. This song was made for XIV as it's a mashup of the different main themes from each expansion. This trailer has a lore that's accumulated for 10 years, so there is so much to explain, with heavy story spoilers, and yet it's difficult to explain without going through the story proper. At this rate, yea, come play the game! I'm sure lots of us would be willing to help. It's fun, honestly, the start can be slow but even the beginning parts have things that are tied to the very end, so don't skip a cutscene. It'll be worth it. Plus free trial up to level 60, including the award winning expansion Heavensward, and heck they're even throwing in Stormblood until May 9th which is majority of the story, then after is Shadowbringers and Endwalker, and yea you have to buy them and pay monthly, but this is also the only game I pay a subscription for, because it's just so good. So come join Eorzea, be part of those big epic battles, and get ready for the next adventure with us! Though, you won't be able to do all the side quests, but you won't have too much difficulty just going through story at it's level.
The issue with a lot of the game trailers is that each expansion is consecutive, building on previous expansion in story and style. There are a lot of call backs and motifs used to bind player's visual and audio senses to their memory. This trailer draws from all previous trailers in it's musical style to create a sort of final call back victory lap for the game and it's ending of the current main plot.
YO! I was expecting this reaction would come but I didn't figure you'd start at the end of the trailers 😂. You gotta go in order from Flames of Truth Heavensward Stormblood Shadowbringers THEN Endwalker. But seeing as you've watched this you could just watch the rest in order at least lol. This game is a hell of a journey and probably the highest number of hours I've ever sunk into a single game in my life. Starts out as a bit of a slow burn learning game mechanics and whatnot, but once you get to the expansions the story absolutely takes off and never comes back down. Endwalker is the culmination of a decade long narrative, and as such the trailer for it includes a mix of the previous expansions' main music tracks. My personal favorite ending thematically to any story I've ever witnessed, anyone will tell you that 'that scene' prior to the final act is among the best conclusive tie ins of the entire series, if not of all time. Never once regretted playing this game, even if I do unsub from time to time to play other things.
Yes you have to play the game to understand. About your question about the music, all the music in this game is made for this game specifically. Endwalker is the 4th expansion and is the ending of the saga that started 10 years ago. I started playing back in 1.0 of the game but I wasn't playing regularly until 3.1 which was about 7 years ago.
"Do I have to just play the game to understand?" Pretty much, yeah... those of us who had played the game were able to recognize pretty much every character and most of the locations shown in this trailer. The only character that appears here that we hadn't seen up until this point was the dragon. Heck, we even easily recognized the voice of the character that's narrating everything. Even so, it left us with a lot of questions too, so you're not the only one asking what's going on. If you ever do decide to try the game out, be prepared... it's an extremely long story, and it could easily take months for a new player to get to the point where this expansion starts.
The song was indeed written for the game, composed by the absolute legend Masayoshi Soken. Also if you want to hear a Final Fantasy XIV song that sounds like Evanescence then I recommend listening to "Scream"
I'm sure someone has said it already, but if you want to get into this game, there is a free trial available that let's you play the entire core game (A Realm Reborn) and the first expansion (Heavensward) through to level 60 before you cap out and need to purchase the game in full to continue. It's entirely worth it honestly. I recommend watching the other cinema trailers in the order of the game itself to have a better grasp at what's happening here as Endwalker is rounding up the last 10 years of the game while ending the original story arc finally. Also, fun note: FFXIV was originally a flop of a game when originally released. However, the dev team took on feedback, closed the original game servers indefinitely and completely remade the game from the bottom up before releasing it in the form we know now as A Realm Reborn. Literally, the game was reborn and that was what it needed to become the critically acclaimed MMORPG that it is now. Hope to see you one day exploring the realm of Eorzea.
10:25 ah, "Daddy" Thancred as he is called by the fans. He's a Scion like the cat-lady (Y'Shtola). So is the Elf Guy, the twin white haired teenagers, and a few others.
As someone already said this is an mmo spanning ten years with EndWalker being the latest expansion. Would love to see you react to final fantasy 16 the latest singular game to come out this year, also the director to 14 is involved with this one
Hey my friend ! I can see that you started looking at what videogames have to offer ! There are so many hidden gems in there ! Now, I want to recommend you checking out 3 OST from Sonic Frontiers, namely "Undefeatable" , "Break through it all" and "Find your flame". I'd recommend doing them all at once, since these are all boss fights music. And if you want to have something to show on screen, there are for sure videos of the music paired with the fight on screen. I really believe you will like it ! On a side note, me and my gf discovered you with your reactions to Naruto openings, and we've been really enjoying watching your reactions ever since ! So we wish you the best of luck going forward ! Smooches from France and Germany !
7:02 Your questions are the equivalent of watching a modern Star Wars movie and asking "what is a Jedi?" Endwalker in particular is the epitome of ten years of story going into closing, and thus the trailer references things from the entire story until then, and place some tidbits to let old fans theorize until the expansion actually launched. If you don't have time yourself to play this game (and it IS a long time commitment if you do), there are plenty of playthroughs on RUclips. I can recommend Dan Floyd from Play Frame (finished Heavensward, might start Stormblood soon), and T B Skyen in his stream channel 2BSkyen (uploading Heavensward right now).
If you ever choose a game to play for stream i can’t recommend a better game! The story is definitely one of the best overall stories i’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing. It’s also a huge community driven game that your viewers can interact with your gameplay. Your reactions are so fun and i’d love to follow a play through of yours!
Shoutout to Stargate, my favorite show ever! I hope you've watched the 2 movies they made after the series was over. Stargate: The Ark of Truth and Stargate: Continuum. The Ark of Truth wraps up the Ori plotline and Continuum wraps up the Goa'uld plotline. I love both of them. I really wish they hadn't run out of money before they made the Atlantis wrap up movie. I can't believe they left us hanging after Atlantis crash lands in the Pacific Ocean.
2:27 "is this song made for the game?" Yes. And the devs have a habit of putting easter eggs in their songs and trailers for events that happen in the game. So people dissect every bit of these trailers to theorycraft. 7:10 "who are these people? Do I have to just play the game?" Yes. Have you heard of the critically-acclaimed MMO #FFXIV? Which has a free trial, that includes the award-winning Heavensward expansion, and no limitation on playtime up to lvl60. The Stormblood expansion is also free NOW for a limited-time.
You watched the equivalent of the Avengers: Endgame trailer without watching any of the previous films - this is the 'endgame' of the plot of all the expansions so far, all tied up with references from all the previous expansions. The game has a completely free trial all the way up to the end of the first expansion, so if you wanted to try the game you could always give it a go and see if you like it or not!
FFXIV is an online RPG and this is the trailer for the latest expansion. To give you context without spoiling anything major, this is the Infinity War/Endgame of the FFXIV story. Everything has lead to this moment, the world is in chaos and the Scions of the Seventh Dawn (as you pointed out, basically the Avengers of this world) are the only ones with the knowledge and willpower to stop the destruction of reality itself
All of the FFXIV cinematic trailers, please. A Realm Reborn - End of an Era. FFxiv didn't have exactly a smooth launch. The devs decided to shutdown the servers with a vow to re-release. This trailer was dropped when the servers went down. Flames of Truth. Mostly the same as previous, the ending shows a different viewpoint. I would suggest watching end of an era first then skipping 5:20 in flames of truth. (Or watch it fully for to experience the epicness again) Heavensward, Stormblood, Shadowbringers and Endwalker are the expansion trailers, in release order. Heavensward trailer contains *heavy* spoilers on what happens in the game before that expansion, consider warning viewers. There's also "FINAL FANTASY XIV (Version 1.0) Trailer" for the first release of the game
I always get so happy to see new people react to the cinematics...but mate, ya started at the tail end of them. Also they're very VERY story focused. Each one of these trails into the game and you just get so much into the vibe. Also the man in full plate is a representation of your own character. Of course you get your own feeling for it, but in every cinematic he is the staple Warrior of Light. And the composer just knows his shit.
It's important to note that each numerical installment of FF is its own unique story with nothing to do with each other (outside a few vague references). So you can jump on any one of them without playing any other and still follow the story.
Each of the characters you see with the tattoos on their neck as well as the twins are the scions of the 7th dawn. the ones with tattoos on their neck are also the original characters from the 1.0 game that was destroyed
I have completed this game several times, and it is absolutely amazing!! It's made me laugh and made me sob like a baby! The FFXiV community is amazing as well. It's definitely worth a play by anyone 😊
the long and short of it, is that the blonde boy with the scythe has hijacked his dads cool empire in an effort to free a magic apocalypse moon god from his eternal space prison, just so he can use it to fight your character. That's really it.
Endwalker is the final arc of the story that has been happening in MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV for 10 years (since around 2011). If you want to play FFXIV, you can, but it will take you....about 148 to 210 hours to reach just the begining of this expansion (it's an estimated time). You can buy your way to that part if you want, but you probably won't understand the whole story, since a lot happens from the begining. So, if my memory serves me right, the order of arcs is: - A Real Reborn - Heavensward - Stormblood - ShadowBringers - Endwalker Most people who starts at the begining, that is A Realm Reborn, you'll feel that is dragging too much, that the story doesn't advance and that it seems like a very long tutorial...to a degree it is, you are suppoused to learn everything about the game in A Realm Reborn, the story picks up in Heavensward and then you just simply go from arc to arc until you reach the end. You can watch like videos in youtube with the story, but it will be the equivalent of trying to watch all 600+ episodes of One Piece, not impossible, but very time consuming.
You should absolutely give FFXIV a go, free trial and all those memes aside, it has such a great story that takes its time and before even hitting any of the expansions, you will hear so many memorable tracks! Also Soken, the composer, has made so many good songs, you can easily do 50+ reactions to boss songs alone.
This is essentially the end of a 10 year journey spanning FF14's 6th Chapter/Expansion. It's quite literally the end of the world but some people are still fighting the last fight. The music is from "The Primals" a band specifically designed to create and orchestrate all the music heard in FF14. Part of the trailer is showcasing new features/locations such as that water-city paradise and the blue twin's healer role. and lastly the knight at the end that you see throughout the trailer represents the player's character.
This is the 4th expansion of the MMO. So plenty of content to catch up on, can even do the 2.0 and 3.0 expansion can be part of the free trial (some limitations). The original 1.0 closed down and there is an hour long documentary about it. The director YoshiP mains the Black Mage class and plays on PS5.
One of the beautiful things about FF14 is that it respects your time. No content is invalid. You can go through the story at your own pace and just enjoy the journey. There's no need to rush to the end as there are always players joining in to help with old dungeons and raids as you progress. Play a few hours here and there, you're not punished if you have a busy life. It's well worth it. It starts off a little slow, with so much to try and take in, but well worth it. The storyline is amazing. With the writers doing a great job to tie together plot points and characters through the expansions. The music is stunning. Every expansion has some real bangers. Soken can do so many genres of music it's shocking. And the raids and boss fights are very cinematic encounters.
THIS WAS EPIC!!!!

So this song "flow" is actually comprised of the main themes for each of the expansions
If he hasn’t done a reaction to FFXVi he’d enjoy that
Good music for a man hospitalized with cancer. Masayoshi Soken was in a very bad situation during the making of some of his best tracks.
I just spit my drink out at “highly literate catfolk” lol
Oh thank you for the context 🔥❤️
@@GOTGames Something to add to this, BECAUSE this game was the culmination of a decade-long story in FFXIV, the song is literal themes from previous expansions, mixed with a new theme from Endwalker itself. If you want to hear some of those themes, the time stamps:
- Beginning is obviously the Endwalker theme song
- 3:19 - The Heavensward theme (albeit, it's been semi-rockified, and features one of the main characters from the expansion)
- 4:15 - The Stormblood theme (also, heavily rockified, and also features the main villain of the expansion)
- 5:09 - More Endwalker themes, including the "Final" theme of sorts - "With Hearts Aligned"
- 6:27 - The Shadowbringers theme (surprisingly, not rockified, and still sounding excellent)
- 6:35 - Return to the Endwalker theme
I highly suggest watching some of the cinematic trailers to get a better sense of each expansion, and the themes they brought to this one song.
@@The_Jantof they do be highly literate for cats.
FFXIV actually has a world record for the most original pieces of music composed for a video game.
This record was granted 8 years ago near the tail-end of Heavensward too! There's since been 3 more expansions with hundreds of new music composed in each.
Though true, the game no longer holds that record, it had since been broken by another game based from the guiness world records site
Sorry to disappoint but this not true. Runescape holds the world record.
@@oni7423 it was once true to be exact
@@TheRawred and if you ever even think of streaming it, even having the intro music on the main menu while talking to chat will get your vod muted, they are very strict with copyright laws
cinematic timeline for FFXIV:
1-answers - flame of truth
2- heavensward cinematic
3- stormblood cinematic
4- shadowbringer cinamtic
5- Endwalker cinmatic
"flame of truth" is a spoiler tho, "A new beginning" is better.
Also you forgot the 1.0 cinematic, before "flame of truth"
@@Izentahmed Heavensward is spoilery as fuck as well.
Without context answers probably won't mean much.
Oooo thank you!! We'll have to check them all out if you all want it? 💯💯
Yea wasn't it the signer for the Architects, Sam Carter if I remember correctly.
🤯🔥
Please keep in mind that this was the latest trailer of a story that's been going for 10 years. So just be aware you kinda just took a peek at the last chapter of a novel. And as someone that's been playing since open beta... its been a hell of a journey...
Best decision I ever made.
Yshtola confronting the counsel , man it gives me chills its so epic
Each numbered Final Fantasy is considered a diferent title, diferent universe even. As such, you don't need knowledge of previous games to play one. Some do have sequels, spin-ofs etc, but show to wich ones, like all the final fantasy VII ones.
What they tend to share is monsters, magic, some recuring names and having to deal with some kind of powerful/magical cristals.
Except 10 and 7. They are from the same universe
true and kinda not true, with 14, if you have played all of the previous games, you can appreciate the fact that they are bringing in extra tidbits of information from their other titles (this isnt a spoiler, since im not saying exactly what, and some of them you can only see if you do optional content anyway) and that alone, going out of their way to design, code, and incorporate stuff involving their previous titles and making it relevant to this one, i find special
But I will warn you, the story is a long journey, but it’s sooo worth it
I highly recommend the Shadowbringers trailer next!
Really need to play some of these games 💯💯
Shadowbringers and Endwalker expansions for FFXIV are the best RPG stories I have ever read/played, If not my favorite story of all time. Absolutely beautiful works of art.
Endwalker was hotcake garbage. Sorry.
@@ZincZXzinx Let me guess, you skipped the story?
@@Spika94 no. Ur guess is the typical normie guess. "Oh sheet he skeep naaah no wanderrr he nuuu likeyyy waaah waaah" deadass
Sam Walker from the British band Architects actually did the vocals for this song! And yes, this song was made specifically for this trailer
Happily check them all out 💯💯
The man with the dragon is also on your side
FFXIV is an amazing game with an amazing story & many more aspects. Would love to see a reaction to all trailers in order !!
Definitely checking them all out 💯💯
Final Fantasy 14 has one of the best stories ever told in a video game, combined with one of the best soundtracks in any medium ever. I hope one day you will be able to experience this masterpiece.
Honestly, I never expected you would do this. I've been loving this game, been playing for a bit under 2 years.
It tells such an incredible story, that I highly recommend it to anyone who has any interest in a good RPG.
The Endwalker cinematic uses music from all the previous expansions because it ends the main story arc. Huge love letter!
Best Game cinematic is actually from 14 as well. The "Flames of Truth" trailer is amazing and nothing else even comes close
Now watch the community version of this song! Hearing so many people sing this together is really awesome.
I'd recommend next the "first" cinematic of the game with the ending sequence you get to see ingame, it's called Flames of Truth in RUclips
If you are intetested you can check the following cinematics in order:
1. A Realm Reborn
2. Heavensward
3. Stormblood
4. Shadowbringers
Last one is Endwalker but you've seen it already. I think you will love the Shadoebringers music since J think its on par with Endwalker in my opinion.
Well rip, surprised they didn't tell you its better to start with A Ream Reborn cinematic. This one is from the last expansion.
This is the newest expansion trailer, but you should check out the FFXIV shadowbringer trailer. It’s the expansion that came out before Endwalker.
Ahh i was waiting for this video! Check out the other cinematics too!
yes, the song is amazing. it's called Footfalls. and the female singer that reminds you of Amy Lee is Amanda Achen, she also sings Tomorrow and Tomorrow from FFXIV Shadowbringers and Flow from FFXIV Endwalker as well as makes a guest appearance in FFXIV Community Sings Close in the Distance.
FFXIV music is so epic. Been playing this game for 9 years. Haven't got tired of the music yet.
They go in order from:
A Realm Reborn
Heavensward
Stormblood
Shadowbringers
Then finally Endwalker.
A full on analysis of this trailer would probably way too long
I Highly recommand the game, but mostly... Check the Shadowbringers extension trailer, you WILL love it
The song mixes the motiff of the theme songs from all the other expansions, its pretty cool
You should watch other main trailer from Final Fantasy XIV, they're all amazing
Worth noting:answers and dragonsong were written by uematsu instead (which is also very noticable as they do carry the uematsu feel with them)
I can't watch ANY of these cinematics without almost crying. Every time. Look at my babies all grown up, kicking ass and saving the world AGAIN.
EPIC. My favorite video game of all time.
No joke but I’m on my way to a Final Fantasy piano concert! So excited to see this reaction!!
5:34 "Our song of hope" 😎
Not gonna lie, I started playing this game July 2022 and it's been the game I have played the most in my entire life
Story depends on the expansion but the general consensus in the community is 4th is the one of the greatest story ever written, 5th almost as great, 2nd is awesome, 1st get the pace going and 3rd the worst but still an adventure to be hold.
You'll find all sorts of characters and many plot twists
Gameplay is 10/10 as far as MMORPG like just so good when you get the hang of it.
Really a wonder of a game.
The story of this game is insane, but it takes dozens if not hundreds of hours to fully get invested it.
A Realm Reborn -> Heavensward -> Stormblood -> Shadowbringers -> Endwalker
If you decided to dive in, you will find that ARR can be slow at times since it has the herculean task of building up such a massive game world that actually feels lived in.
Love this reaction, definately play this!!
"What's going on?!" My brother in christ you're watching a games intro with 10 years of history now!
wow, you looked like you were at a total loss for words during that last segment xD
I know the feeling
The issue with a lot of the game trailers is that each expansion is consecutive, building on previous expansion in story and style. There are a lot of call backs and motifs used to bind player's visual and audio senses to their memory. This trailer draws from all previous trailers in it's musical style to create a sort of final call back victory lap for the game and it's ending of the current main plot.
YO! I was expecting this reaction would come but I didn't figure you'd start at the end of the trailers 😂. You gotta go in order from
Flames of Truth
Heavensward
Stormblood
Shadowbringers
THEN Endwalker.
If you ever do decide to try the game out, be prepared... it's an extremely long story, and it could easily take months for a new player to get to the point where this expansion starts.
we got another one boys
The song was indeed written for the game, composed by the absolute legend Masayoshi Soken. Also if you want to hear a Final Fantasy XIV song that sounds like Evanescence then I recommend listening to "Scream"
The Answers cinematic is probably still my fav overall, i hope u get to watch that one.
Need Shadowbringer reaction as well!
I can recommend Dan Floyd from Play Frame (finished Heavensward, might start Stormblood soon), and T B Skyen in his stream channel 2BSkyen (uploading Heavensward right now).
the male singer in the song is the lead singer of the architects sam Carter.
The song is called Footfalls. You're more than welcome.
Without spoiling anything the scions are basically the avengers who deal with massive threats.
As this is the newest expansion cinematic, it would atleast feel alittle more coherent if you went back in time to the older ones.
(Or watch it fully for to experience the epicness again)
Heavensward, Stormblood, Shadowbringers and Endwalker are the expansion trailers, in release order. Heavensward trailer contains *heavy* spoilers on what happens in the game before that expansion, consider warning viewers.
There's also "FINAL FANTASY XIV (Version 1.0) Trailer" for the first release of the game
my favorite game
I always get so happy to see new people react to the cinematics...but mate, ya started at the tail end of them. Also they're very VERY story focused. Each one of these trails into the game and you just get so much into the vibe. Also the man in full plate is a representation of your own character. Of course you get your own feeling for it, but in every cinematic he is the staple Warrior of Light.
And the composer just knows his shit.
I just started playing this game a month ago and it has been amazing!
So, if my memory serves me right, the order of arcs is:
- A Real Reborn
- Heavensward
- Stormblood
- ShadowBringers
- Endwalker
Most people who starts at the begining, that is A Realm Reborn, you'll feel that is dragging too much, that the story doesn't advance and that it seems like a very long tutorial...to a degree it is, you are suppoused to learn everything about the game in A Realm Reborn, the story picks up in Heavensward and then you just simply go from arc to arc until you reach the end.
