Knowing people are interested in the analog stick snapping issue but still choosing not to test with a proper controller testing application is mind boggling
For Anbernic's Cardinal Snapping, I think it would be a great Retro Game mode for Arcade games. My suggestion is we should have two modes for the Analog Sticks. A Retro and an Analog Gaming mode to satisfy the gaming needs of both groups of people.😊
Looks 1:1 to an 8bitdo Ultimate controller.... besides the led ring lights and the start+select button placement. Even the back paddles look identical.
Honestly It's much better than I expected. Anbernic is kinda infamous for getting better and fixing the problems with subsequent iterations so I expected a rocky start for their first controller but by the looks of it the controller has a good build quality and looks good too (with the obvious 8bitdo "inspiration"). Gamesir already has a hold on that "quality for great price" corner of the market and there are a lot of other controller brands flooding the market lately too. I don't know how it will go down for Anbernic, the price is the only thing they can go to be the difference maker but it's hard to see it being much cheaper than a Gamesir controller for example that already are quite cheap. Let's see what happens, more options for us consumers so that's great.
it does but its kinda chicken and egg in my brain the pro controller looks like the 8bitdo and came out 4 years earlier but i do agree of the two it definitely looks more like the 8bitdo
It feels like Anbernic spends valuable time refining products in keeping with it's passion for RGB more than a couple of other important areas I can think of lol. Like OTA updates for the RG556. Anyway, I do like the spirit of innovation and I'm happy to see them venture here. I might just pick up a controller (not this one) to overcome the analog snapping without taking any risks with the device but that's a bit cumbersome eh.
I think this will really be dependent on price. Not precise d-pad is a demerit, but the back buttons and ease of programming them seems very cool, on top of being both bluetooth and 2.4ghz. I really hope it's not too expensive!
This thing looks very inspired by the 8bitdo controllers. I meant it does have some differences like the buttons in the middle, the thumbstick tops and rgb but it still has that basic shape and the d-pad.
It's a direct rip off not just inspired by it. Even down to the lettering on the buttons including the shoulders. The only difference is as you mentioned but it's a blatant copy or maybe out the back door job. Chinese companies don't care about trivial issues such as this though.
Has anyone tried to flash this controller and the dongle with the updated firmware on Anbernic's site? I have not had much success. The instructions are a bit vague.
What's your thoughts on Anbernic's first controller? Should we make more dedicated controller videos? Pricing and launch info in the description!
Can you review Headphones and Controllers in the future?
Fantastic review, awesome job man
@@trevordenny8025 thank you man

Lots of firsts on this video, congratulations to everyone involved, great video Todd, thanks!
Many thanks sir Klef!

That's what I've been thinking. Even the way the front part of the shell goes into the back one at the grips is identical
it does i was debating that but in my mind the 8bitdo ultimate looks like a pro controller and the 8bitdo came out 4 years after
For a next time, there are controller testers, input latency, polling rate, analog sticks error % , would be nice to see.
$15 for a Bluetooth+2.4G controller with hall effect, LED sticks, and back paddles seems _suspiciously_ good
It really costs 30, but they hide half of it in the shipment
yeah that's 100% made in the same factory as 8bitdo ultimate lol
Same price too by sounds of it 😂.
Looking like my black myth wukong ultimate2c 😂.
Big fan of the new guy!! Welcome aboard sir and awesome review
hey thanks that really made me happy to read !
Another awesome edition to the Retro Handhelds team, yeah! 🤘🎮👍
Bro for your first full length review you did great, enjoyed this 🙂
Interesting looking controller 🎮😮
Todd rocks. Fair review 👍
you rock !
Looks good man I’m gonna get one just not the baby lotion bottle color. Good video man!

Excellent first video! I might pick one of these up if the price is right.
It did not make me think nintendo pro controller lol it literally looks identical to the 8bitdo ultimate is this an 8bitdo collab?
Think of it as a copy, not collab. There is no honor amongst the companies in the same country
it does but its kinda chicken and egg in my brain the pro controller looks like the 8bitdo and came out 4 years earlier but i do agree of the two it definitely looks more like the 8bitdo
When it will available to buy ?
Excellent video Todd well done 👏
Thank you

Oh.... They'll do ota updates when they can charge you extra for it.
Innovation? It's a direct copy of 8bitdo ultimate controller. Maybe anbernic is linked.
Does the D-pad use rubber membrane or tactile clicky input?

Wish they did both analog layouts but ah well it's their first forway
Does it have vibration?
Are Hall Effect triggers good for GameCube use on FLUDD in Sunshine for example?
Black and red seemed much better than the white one.
Very nice controller. I wonder if it works on PS3 as well.

Nice review. Doesn't have a mouse mode, trackpad like dualshock. No gyro or rumble I suppose. It's really a retro controller.
@@althyk it has gyro and rumble
Controller looks good, but can anyone suggest a cool controller for PS4, that isn't a dual shock 4...🤷♂️🎮
how much will it costs?
We still don’t know yet that’s the rough part they haven’t confirmed anything with us yet
i thought it's a budget controller?
Who's fingers really become oil slicks just because they are playing games?
Looks like an 8bitdo ultimate
Hot take : analog triggers are overrated & only useful if you're playing a game that has driving in it
Yeah most games don't really take advantage of it
Yeah, doesn't mean they can't just exclude it though.
better to have and not need them , than to need them and not have them is what my grandma always used to say
shooters more fun with analog triggers.. many game cube games sucks if you don't have it
The controller color is atrocious. As a keyboard/mouse gamer, I want dual track pads like a Steam Deck controller in a premium controller.
i too would love a controller with a trackpad , we were close with the steam controller i always regret selling mine !
It's not premium at all. Chinese market price is set to be less than 100 RMB. Think the lowest 8bitdo price.
