Incredible. Went through a very similar situation two summers ago. Couldn't get her to start for two weeks. Diagramed and troubleshot everything imaginable. Finally caved and had my towed to a shop where they reoriented my battery cables and started right up. 30 second repair. A painful head shaking experience.
I have a 2000 Jeep Wrangler TJ that had the exact same problem and I appeared out of no where. Just like you I thought it was a starter but my problem ended up being the positive side of the battery cables were rusted and broken in the cable end so I went an purchase brand new battery cables and ends and now my Jeep fires up every time. I am not saying that is what your problem is but it is worth a look see.
I’m having similar issues man. Tested battery, alternator, and just replaced the starter (which was actually bad as well), and they are all good now. Starts most of the time but sometimes will click rapidly, and I’ll have intermittent erratic lights inside the cab. Seems like connection issue for sure. Battery terminals look fairly okay, only some corrosion, but I’ll probably change them anyway. So you’ve helped me narrow the problem down to ignition or ground most likely! Appreciate you going through the diagnostic thought process. Always tough to find content and solutions when you have a more specific issue.
so im guessing that fixed the problem for good? i have thew same issue, i did new battery, starter, cleaned all wires as you did and it still randomly does it, but if i take my test light and put it on the wire that goes into the actual starter (not from battery) i can have someone crank it while i hold the test light on the large wire that goes into the back of starter and itll start every time. my friend has an 06 that was doing this too and turned out to be his computer, i really hope thats not the case here, ill keep playing with wires till i fix it. thanks for taking the time to troubleshoot and making the video
You are welcome, thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. Yes that did fix my issue. If you haven’t, please consider subscribing, it really helps the channel.

Sounds like a loose connection (ground). Double check everything, and check the condition of the battery cables.
Thanks for watching, I'm glad it helped.
Grounds. Had same problem unt solenoid eventually burned out. Replaced with new starter and cleaned off every.single.grounding point. Choochin.
Sorry to hear yours burned out. Thanks for watching.

Great video 👍, i got a question what brand air snorkel & air filter is that i never saw a set up like that , i like it ..👌.
It started as an ARB snorkel, the when I broke that I replaced it with an ebay model. The air filter is a spectra, with an AEV cold air intake.
@@DunnageGarageOk thank you Sir 👍
Thank u I just get one click tho

sounds like a broke teeth on starter or shaft
Bad connection on the positive battery terminal, teeth were all good.
