Any dance that uses the "It's a Jolly Day with Mary" kick walk is a winner
I can’t put into words the way this video makes me feel. I just love it. I keep finding myself coming back to it.
Likewise! Unbridled joy.
It's called good weed! This is what everything looks like when you smoke good strains, it leaves you a little dumbfounded and you can feel the music...
The White Stripes 7 Nation Army used to do it to me too.
I can't believe this has less than 200k views. That's criminal. The video alone should have 5 million views.
This is utterly, wonderfully bonkers.
some paint even hit the mayor!
Honestly one of my favorite music videos, ever
Been listening to this song constantly. Heard it on my college radio station (wutk 90.3). The song, to me, has this very serious feeling, so I love the overly corny dancing because it's ironic. I also love the shots of the woman dancer staring off into the distance, giving it that serious, slightly weird nod. I've never listened to Wye Oak before so I don't have that feeling of sadness at the new sound. I'm digging it.
90.3 with rocks! I love that station. I heard this on there just this morning (5-20-14) for the first time.
Blake Beverly *wutk*
really cool coming back to this after watching The Mirror
can't believe this is 10 years old, I used to play this over and over and over before they made the videos so lit, if you hear any new music like this comment on this post, their newer stuff that I've heard doesn't sound like the same band, they were in the zone when they made this...Amazing Jam, album was super super good
Wow, for the past month I've been listening to this non-stop. halp. It's too addicting. Lovin' the new sound you guys!
This is my 6th time listening to this, and by no stretch, the last. XD
Breathtaking. Baltimore knows.
Her voice gets me every time, The tone the timbre I am lost but in a good way!
Utterly charming.
At first I was a little let down by the new sound but as the song progressed i.e. when the vocals came in, I fell in love.
Always come back to this song when I'm in a creative block. The visual, the freeness, the music, it's all so carefree which I love. Sounds like a retro 80s carnival on acid, but then you realize it's just a commercial on TV
i love this song. The video is all kinds of great as well. Props to the choreographers and dancers.
ok not what I expected, but I love a band that don't do the same all over again so Kudos to Wye Oak.
Holy shit ben & cricket, wat moves
I've thought a lot about it and this is the greatest music video I have ever seen.
Beautiful choreography, profoundly meaningful story, the percussion is so good, the vocals & lyrics are mellifluous and intriguing. The synth is rich and euphonious, the bass is delicious, everytime I show this to someone they love it. A total work of genius. Sincere thanks to everyone involved.
lovely comment, agree wholeheartedly and every person i show this to is like whoa what is this ❤
Great work as usual. I
My first time hearing these guys! This song is fantastic
At first I didn't like this song, I thought it was offbeat and weird but it really grew on me. It's just one of those songs you have to get used to to adore.
This video and song are amazing pieces of art, it was my gateway drug to the magic of Wye Oak.
I wasn't expecting this video. Pleasantly surprised, though. Quite like it.
This will be on repeat until April 29th.
Absolutely adorable. Loving your new work, guys!
i love everything about this song / vid - so happy i stumbled upon them via my spotify suggested tunes.
This is fiiiiiiire!
Still great. Thanks.
Simply marvelous...
The imagery & tone of the lyrics are both akin to the influences of the major arcana tarot card, 'The Tower.' Not sure whether that's intentional; cool coincidence, if not, but poetic brilliance, otherwise.
could you explain what you mean? :0
im really interested!!
Yeeeaaahhh! Love you guys.
this is a good song
I bet this video was inspired by the chimney sweeps dancing on the rooftops from Mary Poppins. Chim chimney!
Yeah, it reminds me of a painting crew rehearsing for a community theater Mary Poppins production
The beginning feels like a jolly holiday with Mary too. I’m glad I’m not the only one who got those vibes
I LOVE THIS
That looked fun...
This is great!
De tempos em tempos eu sempre volto aqui. :)
Love the goofball dancing!
love it.
I love this shit! Painter girl is very cute too.
Even hotter.
That’s Cricket Arrison if you wanna see her in more stuff. She’s a fun actor
This looks like the industrial area around Remington, pretty close to where I used to live. Which kind of makes sense, since yanno, they're from Baltimore.
The beginning was definitely filmed on Belvidere St. behind the Copycat Annex.
Lovely
Kool!!!
jesus! this is addicting!
Desde ''civilian'' não vejo mais Wye oak
80's feel/look
This totally reminds me of one of Beach House's videos that they made for their Teen Dream LP! I've missed this feeling. Thank you so much.
This is so weird, in the best way possible.
2014 could be their year!
hello Cricket Arrison!
Damn Jenn why you soo good.
روعه
cricket
yes
bobby hill would love this music video

*Original comment redacted. Edit:*
God I love this video so much. It means so much to me, even two years later.
This song is like some sativa at the right time and place; when peoples movements synch up with the beat the music, no care in the world, and the weather is perfect!
I never have that happen inside buildings, unless I'm recording music and zone out as I listen for errors in my playing.
bass guitar for the win
🤗🌌
let this cheer you up..the tower of love.sends nothing but happy vibes.
Love it! I'm making my own music and its very similar :) Good job keep going!
showbeast!
Is it Steve Oram on 3:05?
so weird this music video is an illegal a/v recording of my soVEREIGAN SOUL, I WILL BE CALLIing youtube to my lawy
how did you film this you must bust it
i do not remember making this comment so much that I treasure it
I was expecting a more psychedelic video for this tune actually, but the song is brilliant though
:-)
portugal the man 😂
Alan resnick!
Who is the dude in this video???
+Robert Allen I dunno, but he kind of looks like Josh Groban with a shaved head.
+bcaprari Ben O'Brien. Member of WHAM CITY comedy troupe from Baltimore, MD! Check them out.
Ben O'Brien! He's an incredible filmographer, and he usually works with the other two geniuses, Alan Resnick and Robby Rackleff
I feel like the intro suits Killing Eve, lol
UM... ACWERD
why is jeff bezos dancing with the girl from the handmaidens tale
Bacan
Ed Kowalczyk and the girl from "Twilight" are good dancers...
Some weird voice effects huh?
any idea behind the meaning
lol
日本人いるかな?1:25 なだる?だっけ、に見えてしまった 😓
草 今も昔も変わらない発想 泣けるぜ 繰り返してるだけかよ、意味なんてないんだな
I understand many things, but this video is not among them.
I like it, but not anywhere near as much as I love The Knot or Civilian. Interesting direction, but I hope it's just a diversion and not the future of their sound.
Nice video! check me out if you got time thanks!

wut
Arco twin towers...4/11 what is next!?...
Honestly? I love Cricket Arrison and Ben O'Brien, but here they both look like if they were *heavely* on drugs...
Ingram Alastrine huh I didn't get that impression 0: It's typically hard to do something this choreographed under the influence of something
I doubt it (although her pupils at the end are kinda dilated looking there could be any number of reasons)
As a first time listener, this dance did not seem to fit the song at all.
Meh. I'm going back to my old wye oak records.
Like the song, dislike the video - it just don't fit to the tune ... looking forward to Wye Oak live in Prague though!
meh.. i don't like the new album.. the lyrics are cool but I don't feel anything special while listening to it. And trust me, I was hoping it would. Maybe it's because it's all a bit too electronic and overproduced for my taste. Oh well, can't please everybody I guess.
In the next album I'm hoping for a more indie and dreamlike sound like Beach House. I think their lyrics and her voice are perfect for that.
but the album isn't even out yet.How do you know you don't like it?Or are you basing it on this one single because that would be a bad move probably.
Like they say "never meet your heroes", you should also never watch your favorite song's music video. Only crap this almost ruined the song for me.
Yasssssssssss❤
