The very best Marriage of Figaro! The cast is fabulous, also production and orchestra! I adore Diana Damrau as Susannah and also as the Countess in La Scala’s new production, but think it is really over the top otherwise! How I wish that more directors would quit trying so hard and give us this kind of production!

The production and especially the acting are superb however this recording of the sound is so inadequate that it spoils the overall performance - there are many recordings that are so much better. Pity

thanks so much! Damrau is so Moffesque - marvelous! can't help but to really dislike the count - he seems to come from the "school of LY being easier sung than a simple L" - yuck! - looks like one can never get all singers right nowadays
