I believe there is another band that sits alongside the "Holy Trinity" and get overlooked but are just as important and powerful. Uriah Heep rocks and they are still putting out great music. I finally saw them live in 2019 and they were so good. Rock On and great video.

I can't take people who call metalcore and deathcore 'metal' seriously when half the stuff sounds even less like hardcore and more like emo. There's some that is like watered down death, thrash, etc with chugs and breakdowns but a lot of it is just whimpy screamo. The roots are not the same as actual metal. I've heard more core bands draw from alternative, emo, screamo, pop punk, dubstep, etc. So no it isn't metal, stylistically a majority of those bands don't draw influence from blues, hard rock, heavy psych, early rock n roll or doo wop, jazz, real punk and hardcore, etc.
