Someone from production was so proud to post how they did this in one take only & that SB19 & Ben&ben were just so good and professional they didn't commit a single mistake.....
Thank you for this, "lataratara is a melody use to put a child to sleep" just like twinkle twinkle little star. Pablo's grandmother used that melody to put him to sleep when he was a child.
This is exactly why I love watching RV’s from a legit musicians cause they can really appreciate every beats and whatsoever going on in the performace. Thank you for this sir.
Lataratara is a lullaby hum. Now, in MAPA, it's the children who sing the lullaby to their parents to ease them of worries and concerns because they grew up well, because their parents raised them well.
6:33 - they said that the "lataralata" part is what Pablo's (one of the member of SB19 and also the one who wrote the song) grandmother used to sing to him as a lullaby when he was a child and he remembers it every time he's resting. They said this on a TV interview.
Lataratara is not an actual word. From what I saw from few comments before, it was like a lullaby that Pablo remembered his mom sang to him during his younger years. Thanks again for watching/listening
@@ginoongdenzel7838 hmm, okay. It could have been derived from that word, I get you. But the actual word LATARATARA itself is not a word in Tagalog at all. Is it a valid word in other Filipino languages though? I just saw someone's comment, according to Pablo, that word is just a vocable from a lullaby.
@@jooheeforever1796 you're right. It doesn't exist in any Filipino languages i think. Not in bisaya, ilonggo, and other languages similar to tagalog like batangueno.
Actually, aside from Pablo's explanation, if you Google it, the top link says that in other countries, Latarata is another way of saying goodbye or signing off.
when they released the audio version before that video performance, I never thought that it was actually a live recording. SB19 is talented joined by a really talented band Ben & Ben = magic and perfection!
Thanks for reacting to #SBEN19MAPA Lataratara is a vocable and also the lullaby that Pablo's (SB19 leader and composer) mother used to sing to him to sleep. Ben&Ben is a famous 9-member indie-folk/pop band in the PH. You might also want to check out their live performances on the Wish Bus ("Araw-Araw", "Ride Home", "Leaves", etc.).
Lataratara symbolizes the lullaby that our parents once sing to us when we are still a baby or a kid and this song is for our parents so it feels like we are now the obe singing the lullaby to them to make them feel relaxed and to tell them to get rest from all the hardship that they encounter
They gave a new emotion to this song. From heartfelt and intense to reminiscent and hopeful. Ben&Ben brought out a side of SB19 that we didn't know of (especially on Ken's part those falsetto and highnotes and Josh Stable voice) And Also let's appreciate Pinunong Pablo powerful voice still gives me chills!🌭 Yay!. who'd have thought they would sound great together? THE COLLABORATION THAT SHOCKED THE NATION! 💙👑 PS: The adlib (violin) and the coda (latara-tara harmony) got me. 😍 #KINGS! 📢🔥
This version was arranged by Ben&Ben's keyboardist, Patricia Lasaten (a professional music composer and arranger for films), and electric guitarist, Poch Barretto. Really amazing performance. Hope you could react to more ben and ben performance like ride home, leaves and di ka sayang.
Just want to say, some reactors like Jacob focuses on the composition of the song because he’s a musician and producer himself so he appreciates it more than the lyrics or the quality of the video, it doesn’t have to be all reactors focusing on lyrics so it’s really okay :)
What a beautiful collab ... a masterpiece . SB19 and BEN&BEN nailed it . Thank you for the reaction . May I request a reaction on SB19 WHAT live performance at ASAP Natin Ito . God bless 😊
Yay! Thank you so much reacting. I have been waiting for your reaction ☺️. The group Ben&Ben, the one they collaborated in this version, is a famous contemporary folk band here in the Philippines. If you get to hear the original version of MAPA, it is more mellow than the band version. MAPA was written by Pablo, and he also produced the song with Simon Servida and Jay Durias. Fun fact, when they did this performance, they only did it once since they were no mistakes while performing it during the shoot. In addition, the line distribution is different from the original version. Also, two of the Ben&Ben members did the musical arrangements for the band version. You can also check out Ben&Ben☺️. They have great amazing songs, as well. And, also wonderful in performing live performances. Their song "Lifetime" and "Leaves" are one of my favorites ☺️ All I can say this collaboration was magnificent. Two groups in different genre's collaborate in this amazing and wonderful song version.
