Yeah EV's are really coming into prominence now. Rimac has done a great job showcasing the performance that is possible and the styling of the car is fantastic. It even wears a tie as a nod to it's Croatian roots. I've been to the drags and watched 10s passes from some very powerful cars built to drag race. Mid 8s is insane on a production car.
I said it when Rimac teamed up with Carwow and I'll say it again: these guys are MASTERS at understanding their audience. Million dollar ad campaign? Hell no, team up with the best RUclipsrs out there. Really well done Brooks, this shows that you're at the very top of what you do. And what a car!

Plaid S is a lot better. For 2000Hp this car’s performance is exceptionally disappointing. Tesla Roadster is going to destroy this Rimac underperformer.

Before the discussion starts. Yes the Tesla Model S Plaid is quick but not quicker. Yes the Tesla Model S Plaid delivers it‘s stats being a 5 seater Sedan. But still the Rimac is the fastest. Both cater to different people, prices and markets. Rimac is a 2.4 Million Dollar Megacar with only 150 being produced and Tesla Model S Plaid is a 140k Sedan in mass production. Yes the Tesla Roadster is coming, but not before 2023 and the stats are yet to see. Competition gives us the best Products. We should be happy to have both Tesla and Rimac.

It s also positioned quite badly, you should be able to watch it or use it without having to look down and not have the road in sight, especially if they say they want to implement that driving coach function. I suppose a buyer that pays 2 million will be picky, as most premium cars nowadays have the infotainment positioned upwards, the cheaper cars usually had the infotaiment positioned under the air vents

I agree when it comes to torque and HP fun, sucks for distance and charging times which make it a short commuter and drag racer. Granted, if you can afford this monster, you'll probably have plenty of gas cars too and possibly a diesel or two LOL.

For example, The Tesla Supercharger allowing you to charge your car up to *200 miles in 15 minutes.* When you are on a trip, you need at least one 15 minutes rest pause every 200 miles. What is better to spend that time in a clean silent green environment with pleasant restaurant nearby, just plug in and enjoy your rest. At home or at the office you can just plug in and charge so you *never* have to visit a station on regular days again. There are plenty oppertunities to charge without losing your time. I'm afraid with gasoline you won't have those options.

Will be quick, but certainly nowhere near 919 evo quick. That car's acceleration was cartoonish, and even faster than an F1 car (and therefore quite a bit faster than even the Nevera).
soon is an overstatement it'll take electric cars that have 4,000 hp and sticky drag tires to have the same G forces as top fuel dragsters and top fuel dragster drivers still operate without a problem

We will think about acceleration entirely differently once electric cars become mainstream in 5-10 years maybe. Tesla is compared because theres still no big market penetration for electric cars at this point.
I hate to see what happens when these Tesla's hit the wall over 100. There's no extinguisher on most tracks that can stop the reaction when their batteries are critically damaged. Then of course they'll blame Tesla. There's a hard lesson to be learned very soon.
Absolutely love this car. One thing they can improve in the future is definitely the refresh rate of the screen in the middle. It would make the user experience so much better if the screen is more responsive. Anyway, absolutely my top fav cars edit: just finished watching the entire video, gosh cut off 1 second from the production car 1/4 mile world record. Am i getting it right? holy moly!
I think it is a problem of optimizing software, and Rimac have open position for Android developers etc. So i am sure they will fix it, and in fact, fixing that is the easiest part in process of creating such a monster from a scratch.

Just around a year ago it was the fastest EV in the 1/4 other than the Rimac C1. Now we have EV hypercars doing 8.6 in the 1/4 mile and a sedan doing 9.2. Edit: you’ll have to excuse my number mistakes for the length of the race. I didn’t have any caffeine yet.

Ther Rimac is amazing, but don't forget these two cars are really different, sedan vs 2seats hypercar, mass produced vs 150 in total, 2 mil vs 0.15 mil, you have to compare performance related to these other factor, and for now there isn't anything in the plaid league
The rimac guys seem very cool, like they just love what they do. Plus they just got the key to the Bugatti candy shop. Also I think Tesla just got out geeked. 🤔 Epic machine, bonkers fast. I guess it’s traction that means the extra 900bhp does make a massive difference to 100kph but then it just pulls until you run out of courage. The Tesla v rimac race will be good.
I wanna see a roll race with the rimac vs a jesko. Power to weight is almost identical as long as you run based on the premium gas rating. Rimac would need extra 548hp to match with e85 but im sure that will come after they team with Bugatti.

By contrast, Rimac is throwing our favorite youtubers in the seat and letting them show the performance numbers freely. While breaking world records. It's a breath of fresh air.

Reason why he is doing this is because at home he was for years accused he is releasing paperware - none existing cars. Regardless of all the haters he has achieved all this from one of the worlds "shi*hole" meaning country not very friendly for innovations or entrepreneurs. That makes his achievement a lot bigger then anyone can imagine. Now everyone can see, cars do exist, they perform and big players have accepted him. Of-coarse he does need to sell and need for world to know his brand delivers - marketing. It brings customers and value to his creation. Before the discussion starts. Yes the Tesla Model S Plaid is quick but not quicker. Yes the Tesla Model S Plaid delivers it‘s stats being a 5 seater Sedan. But still the Rimac is the fastest. Both cater to different people, prices and markets. Rimac is a 2.4 Million Dollar Megacar with only 150 being produced and Tesla Model S Plaid is a 140k Sedan in mass production. Yes the Tesla Roadster is coming, but not before 2023 and the stats are yet to see. Competition gives us the best Products. We should be happy to have both Tesla and Rimac.

It s also positioned quite badly, you should be able to watch it or use it without having to look down and not have the road in sight, especially if they say they want to implement that driving coach function. For example, The Tesla Supercharger allowing you to charge your car up to *200 miles in 15 minutes.* When you are on a trip, you need at least one 15 minutes rest pause every 200 miles. What is better to spend that time in a clean silent green environment with pleasant restaurant nearby, just plug in and enjoy your rest. At home or at the office you can just plug in and charge so you *never* have to visit a station on regular days again. There are plenty oppertunities to charge without losing your time. I'm afraid with gasoline you won't have those options.

Kudos to Rimac, and also to Tesla - if a family sedan gets compared to a 2.3 million dollar monocoque hypercar, you know you went quite far.
We will think about acceleration entirely differently once electric cars become mainstream in 5-10 years maybe. Tesla is compared because theres still no big market penetration for electric cars at this point.

I hate to see what happens when these Tesla's hit the wall over 100. There's no extinguisher on most tracks that can stop the reaction when their batteries are critically damaged. Then of course they'll blame Tesla. There's a hard lesson to be learned very soon.
There'll be EMS who know enough not to even get near the vehicle but not all of them. It's going to be tragic.
Absolutely love this car. One thing they can improve in the future is definitely the refresh rate of the screen in the middle. It would make the user experience so much better if the screen is more responsive.

I think it is a problem of optimizing software, and Rimac have open position for Android developers etc. So i am sure they will fix it, and in fact, fixing that is the easiest part in process of creating such a monster from a scratch.

Insurance aside and the value of the car aside, I said that car would make an easy daily driver, let that sink in, a mid 8 second car being more reliable, better gas economy (lol), with awd better in the rain and snow than most cars out there to daily. If you're obsessed with the value of it scared to scratch it that's on you, it says nothing about the car or its capability.

Just around a year ago it was the fastest EV in the 1/4 other than the Rimac C1. Now we have EV hypercars doing 8.6 in the 1/4 mile and a sedan doing 9.2.

Ther Rimac is amazing, but don't forget these two cars are really different, sedan vs 2seats hypercar, mass produced vs 150 in total, 2 mil vs 0.15 mil, you have to compare performance related to these other factor, and for now there isn't anything in the plaid league

I wanna see a roll race with the rimac vs a jesko. Power to weight is almost identical as long as you run based on the premium gas rating. Rimac would need extra 548hp to match with e85 but im sure that will come after they team with Bugatti.
