- Western Oregon Bow Hunting. After just a few hours in the stand on opening morning of the Western Oregon Late archery season on the southern border of the Santiam Unit my Buddy Dan The Man launched a Magnus Black Hornet Ser Razor from his Bowtech and found his mark on a bruiser of a Blacktail buck we called LT.
Dan rattled this monster in with his Black Rack antlers.
All video captured on the Ion Air Pro & Browning trail cameras.
Congrats that's a great Blacktails, what a tank. His head is so big it makes his rack look small, which it is not.

Indeed he was a toad. We actually have trail cam video of him from a couple years ago and his rack was taller. This buck was an old dog so I think he was starting to get over the hill and reverted a little. We are guessing he was 8 to 10 years old. Giant body for a blacktail for sure.

This one was 110 lbs fully dressed on the meat hook. Easily over 200 lbs when he was on the hoof. Beast of a blacktail.
