The first English laws making it illegal to export slaves was enacted in 1067 by William the Conqueror. In the 18th c, Britain declared slavery illegal not only in Britain, but in the entire world - and sent out the Royal Navy to enforce it. The British literally blockaded Africa (the continent!) to prevent slaver ship taking slaves from Africa. They boarded any slaver ship - regardless of which nation it belonged to - and removed all of the slaves. They then offered either to return them to Africa or to join the Royal Navy, who always needed men. That is why Royal Navy ships of the time had multicultural crews. Britain did indeed partake in slave trading initially -as did almost every nation in the world at some time (for most of history slavery was the norm everywhere) but when they decided it was an immoral practise, they not only stopped doing themselves, they literally _enforced_ anti-slavery upon the world powers. Slavery became illegal in most countries around the world (but not all - Saudi Arabia only made slavery illegal in 1967, but it still persists there to this day) largely because of the efforts of Great Britain.

HELLL YEAHH!!!! here for it🔥🔥🔥
im from small heath birmingham. birmingham is exactly like our ironic sister city..... Chicago. gangs drill murder and drugs. the most diverse cultrally and muslim majority.
Ooh, I've been wanting to watch peaky blinders, I'm excited for this as I get the reaction without too much gore. Wish Brandon was reacting too
Cillian Murphy ya Irish Legend
Don’t give me wrong there are a lot of superstitions depicted in the show from many characters, but not moving contraband on a full moon was not because of superstition. During a full moon, it is brighter and it is easier to be caught moving illegal stuff so they want to move when it’s darker outside at night.
Obligatory Irish Names Comment: kill-ee-an. Cillian is pronounced with a K-sound as Irish doesn't have the letter K, so the C's are all pronounced as K's
One of THE best shows of all time!
Kudos for editing the rads 16:05 😂
I always use protection, a false name and address 😂😂😂
This show is top tier!
Hi! A heads up: it's pronounced Killian, even though it's spelled with a C. I'm really looking forward to your reactions because this is an excellent show!! Love the GOT reactions ❤
Just found your channel, love the reaction. Just subscribed and added the bell. What days will you be uploading more peaky blinders reactions?
Cillian Murphy is amazing. This show is fantastic. They are also doing a movie (to finish the series) that I read was supposed to start production this month. Also just a little info…The correct pronunciation of his name is 'Killian' ("Kill-ee-an").
The police captain is Sam Neil from Jurassic Park
Cant wait to watch this with you guys. Yes, Brandon would love this, but he'll also love The Sopranos. Hope to see that soon. 😊
Very excited for this one! I have been obsessed with the house of the dragon, and game of thrones reactions. But Peaky Blinders is also one of me and my partners favorite shows. So worth the watch and such a great cast as well. Can't wait for you guys's reaction.🫢

Just to help your understanding, in Ireland, there has been conflict over hundreds of years between The Catholics who have The iRA: The Irish Republican Army, and The Protestants who Grace was one of.

Can't wait for your reactions on The Last Kingdom!
Best series ever!!!
Cillian pronunciation sounds like Kill-li-an . He is from Ireland, and it is a Celtic name . BTW i really enjoyed your reaction. ❤
One of the best shows on Netflix for sure
This is a VERY good series!
Great show!! Great pick
peaky blinders was filmed in Liverpool
Birmimgham has been 'multi-cultural' for a while now, so yes a black man could walk around in 1919 with little to no issues. Of course there are still the racist few, but England is very different than America when it comes to race
27:10 … uh oh, your probably not gunna like what happens next… lol
