Thank you, I dropped out of school because the repeated inappropriate jokes and toxic masculinity was making me uncomfortable and mad sometimes I feel like that's a stupid reason to drop out but know this taught me I had every right to do so :)
I think this is a really important song as whenever I walk to and from school I always need to be aware of my surroundings to make sure no men or boys are following me or looking at me. It's really crushing and things need to be changed.
This is actually a real problem so I’m glad to see that there is a video about expressing the concerns that most girls probably keep to themselves. I’m lucky enough not to have experienced this kind of treatment many times.
Like for example: public schools say that we have to wear certain clothes for the dress codes or u informs but there are many times when I have seen so much slack cut on the boys part but the girls dress code is a lot more strict. The horrible part is; if you ask them what the reason is for the dress code (such as high collared tops), they will say it is because the other clothes will be too distracting. Sad thing is; for a long time, I was satisfied with that answer because from a young age they just drilled it into my mind that it was okay to treat us that way and it’s not, like it’s not my fault if they get distracted by seeing a collarbone like it’s not that much skin and guys take off their whole shirts. If someone were to get distracted by a girl in class with her outfit then okay; 1) they are creepy and probably making her uncomfortable 2) it’s their fault, not hers, that they got distracted
It’s just so annoying how people try to make it seem okay and like everything is fine when it’s not 😔
My school has dress code and the only bottom things for girls are skirts and dresses so I have to go to the boys section to get some unicorn pants and if got get distracted by what we wear it isn't our fault those boys that get distracted should learn that it isn't right and us girls are getting punished for wearing comfortable clothes (ex) my bff school she's not all our to wear leggings because some idiotic boys get distracted and the girls are the ones getting punished and I'm glad there is a vid to explain this and hopefully people will understand

Ohmygod I am a girl (which sucks) and at my school there were so many perverted boys and all the girls would say something but the teachers were like "ThErE jUsT bEiNg BoYs ItS fInE" it wasn't fine the boys were going into the girls bathroom which is also conveniently the changing room for theater and dance to see the girls.
My parents dont believe me. 🙄

I know it wasn't asked for but here is my story with this stuff cuz let be honest when it comes to women or fem people it's not a matter of if you have a story it's when it will happen to you
It was 6th grade I had a locker right next to the teacher and a group of boys on the other side of me I thought they were my friends looking back I now know they only hung out with me in the hopes of sleeping with me, one morning I was getting my things when my locker neighbor touched my chest I thought it was a mistake so I apologized he took his hand off of my then later in the day when we were in class I was sitting next to him and he had his hand on my thigh I didn't want to make a scene so I tried to ask him to move it without saying anything but he wouldn't I thought that it was fine and normal he was so calm about it that my brain barely registered what it was he was doing things like this went on for the rest of the year getting slowly worse thankfully they never tried to r**e me but I can still sometimes feel there hands on my body doing things I didn't want them to
This just made me incredibly mad because if all the things going on and to think that this is the kind of world that I will live in all the injustice and disgusting behavior of people who tell their kids or other people ‘oh well boys will be boys’ and ‘well you were asking for it’ no no they weren’t unless they verbally gave someone consent they weren’t asking for it what part of an outfit tells someone that a woman is asking for it only words and writing can say that, the parents teaching their kids these fucking horrible habits are the ones ruining this world the ones not concerned with the verge of world war 3 because oh it couldn’t happen to me, the ones who aren’t concerned by inflation or concerned about the corruption of the world, or concerned about people less fortunate than them, the people who only care about what they want. And I’m not gonna say sorry for ranting because I’m barely a teen and already mad at the world and all the tesco reduced gone bad moldy ass blueberry robotic pieces of shit on the hellscape we call earth, we set the bar so low that it was a tripping hazard in hell and then there’s these fuckers who are there playing limbo with the devil, if you don’t agree with what I say that’s your opinion and I’m fine with it but don’t fucking think about typing a single word about how I’m wrong to think this way.
