Great topic! Became fluent this way. Never had interest in most Spanish TV series or movies but RUclips has plenty of compelling content in any subject. It’s incredible to live in an era where you can acquire a foreign language in your own country.
@IsaacL_Lopez Personally i like to learn so i watch channels like: Sé Curioso - TED-Ed, Memorias de Pez, VisualPolitik, Un Mundo Inmenso and the like. there is this site called language reactor that has a list of youtube channels in different languages like Spanish. but once you add a couple channels and curate your feed by watching videos it gets easy to find other content in that language that interests you
Reading isn't the enemy, ppl should read , they just need to figure out what type of writings they enjoy. Reading isn't just a way to level up your linguistic abilities, there is more to it , and yes it might not always be fun , at least until u know what your type is . And m french speaker but I don't read french literature as much as I read Japanese or English literature, and that's okay , I know what I like and do exactly that . Good luck everyone
So true When i study Spanish and Korean here on RUclips i find fun people and things that interest me and don't bore me Buh for French......Only the pronunciation videos interest me almost everything is like grammar class As a beginner you must have at least acquired a word or picked it up in comprehensible input then when you try grammar its easy cause you have heard it being used even thou you don't understand but for French....... It's the other way round
I watch the news in foreign languages, also, if you like any type of media with global impact like nintendo, sega, league of legends etc, it's easy to find content about it in whatever language
So ture.I learn English by watching Steve Kaufum and many other youtubers.I can understand what you say and I also learn Jpanese on youtube by watching intersting videos.
Do you think it’s possible to get to native-like Japanese fluency without mining? For instance, just doing the core 6k deck + audio immersion? That’s what I’ve been doing for 9 months but I’m far from fluent. I can barely speak…
Speaking is a skill too, so you have to develop it if you want to speak. It's also an important thing to say that to activate creativity in target language (like you did in your native language) it's essential to have a vast vocab, 6k words is a child-like vocab
if you only focus on slice of life content and casual youtube, you can get fluent without anki since you only need 10,000-15,000 words. But if you wanna dive into literature then anki becomes essential.

@ does this assume lookups for unknown words or is it all inferring the meaning from context? Lookups are often impossible with YT content etc.
Anyone some Egyption Arabic yt channels?
Are you japanese french right?
If you want to learn to speak you should just speak.😂
