  • Before I made these I had literally no idea how good these are. Although I made my own sausage filling for these, you can buy sausage filling (or just buy sausages and empty them if they have not been poached first).

    Recipe (makes 4 eggs, enough for 2 decent-sized meals):
    ----------------------
    4 eggs, plus one for the egg wash
    bread crumbs
    Some flour for rolling
    250-300g (8-10 oz) sausage filling, best are filling for standard pub bangers (see • Traditional British Ba... )
    Boil 4 eggs for 3-5 minutes, and then cool them down in an ice bath for another five minutes. Peel them.
    in the mean time, beat the other egg, and set up your breading station.
    Divide your sausage filling into 4 even pieces.
    Wrap the sausage around the egg, then roll in the egg wash and in the bread crumbs.
    Fry in hot oil until golden brown and the sausage meat is cooked through.
