genius! this tutorial made me install keynote again. animations on keynote are much more polished giving it the professional look. lumafusion + keynote makes a great combo. thanks to this! i used this technique in 2 of my latest videos 😊
I was looking for a way to add text comments to my videos while editing in LumaFusion. Your video was the first in the search results and to be honest, I liked it. Simply because following your steps helped me to learn not only to add text, but also to animate it to my preferences. Both thumbs up!
I was just watching a video and thought, hey that text slide in on screen is so cool, I should add that to my videos its so slick. Searched and found your video and wow in a 4 minute video I’m from no idea to having an example done on my own clip. Thank you so much! I did have to pause quite a few times to keep up but I guess there’s no harm in that. Very slick!
Thank you Liam! Glad you found a use for the tutorial. I always try and make videos as short as possible so you can get a good feel for how it’s done and if you need to double take, it’s not hard to find :)
I was kicking around looking for ways to do animated titles in LumaFusion, and was kind of searching for an “Aftereffects for iPad” kind of thing. I once used Keynote to do this exact sort of thing when I wanted a quick animation in FinalCut Pro. It NEVER occurred to me to do this on iPad. It’s like opening my eyes for the first time! Thank you-excellent tip!
When Apple released their 'made on ipad' tv advert, i instantly thought that they must have used Keynote for the animations. So I tried it out, and it worked! But honestly, thank you for checking out the video. You're awesome! There's four or five other LumaFusion tutorials I've made which are worth checking out :)
I just dowloaded LumaFusion and your tutorials are FANTASTIC!!! You are very gifted at getting to the point with a creative twist on everything. KEEP GOING!!!!!
Thanks Cameron I really appreciate it. One day ill make some more tutorials, but right now everything I think people need to learn has been covered already!
As a Windows IT professional, server admin, etc... I am familiar with PowerPoint, and have been doing some title there. However, seeing this, my mind is thinking how to do this in PowerPoint to accomplish the same thing. Keynote isn’t a bad program, I use it to alpha remove backgrounds from images for my wife’s online business. Then with LumaFusion, and Davinci Resolve; my editing techniques are growing.
Thanks! This was as much an iOS Keynote tutorial as it was a LumaFusion tutorial for me. I’ve used keynote for broadcast graphics on MacOS, bit I had to stop and pause this several times during the Keynote portion to figure out what you were doing.
Thanks Zaquan, I really appreciate the kind words. I'd love more subscribers, but it's all about the content right now :) Hey, feel free to share the video if you'd like to help :D haha.
I know you made this 3 years ago and it's still a great tutorial! My question to you...do you keep that grip exercise tool around for when your hand falls asleep?
A good alternative. The problem though with this method if you have a lot of titles to make for multiple videos you will be switching back and forth between the two apps. It could be better if you have the option to just change the text within lumafusion but that one you need to create on your own as custom. Like with the defaults provided by lumafusion.
Completely agree. Until LumaFusion implements proper basic editing tools like this with ease we'll have to rely on other programs. But, a solution to ease this issue is you can always save your keynote project and adjust them one after another and re-export. Similar to how you would with an after effects title or premiere pre-saved graphics profile.
Great video this was so useful! Gonna do this for my future video thank you. Also good luck to everyone that is learning now and working on their youtube channel!
Chris Wilmshurst yes. I just did it. 🙂 It’s be amazing if we could edit it later on instead of having to do it all over again. But hey, I’m really glad you showed us that anyway.
This is super helpful thank you so much. Is there a way to save an animated text that we create this way to a favorites section so it can easily be added to future videos?
@@ChrisWilmshurst thanks for the speedy reply. So I had a rip on it yesterday and made a Christmas video which i uploaded. Chopped video and moved them around etc added some titles and music but there were so many features and icons that am unsure of their functionality and didn’t want to start pressing things the further i got into the project. Id love to get a better grasp of sound and light levels and also using transitions and making the music extend and end to the project. Maybe not beginner but some knowledge of how to tweak a basic montage to make it look far more produced. excuse the terminology. I am incredibly new
Thanks for the video. Interesting way you showed. Is there a reason you use keynotes as apposed to just doing those directly in LumaFusion? Just curious. I appreciate you sharing the info! Jason
Hi Jason, I use keynote as it’s a lot quicker to animate and there’s things such as easing in to make it smoother. LumaFusion is pretty bad at the moment for anything animation related, especially with limited tracks. So this is a temporary work around until things improve ;)

Me too. Few years I dont know about Key note. Its here in my mobile 😅
I’m loving these tutorials because they’re helping me to add more professional features to my videos one step at a time
Glad they’re doing good for you! Sometimes the simplest things make a video more professional
iPad on table and seeing how you do it looks cool but a full screen view of the iPad would sometimes be better from my point of view.
I prefer the ipad on table way of doing it, imo

No problem man! I’m really glad it helps your workflow! That’s the aim of my videos!
Great idea to use the Keynote animation. For a simple title, LumaFusion is enough. For your last example this can be a good alternative!!

Great tutorial Chris, I’ve never thought of using keynote as a way to create animated titles, that’s a great idea
Cheers mate! I thought of the idea when I saw the old iPad advert with LumaFusion featured and thought this is maybe how they did it.
Good tips. Thank you for the Knowledge sharing. I am practicing your tutorial as we speak
The green background on keynote was the, ahem, key to figuring this out. I was stumped from someone elses explanation of this. Thank you!
No problem man, glad it helped!

Haha no! I use that grip exercise tool as I suffer with really bad cramps/carpal tunnel so it stretches and relieves some of the pain in my arm/wrist
Awesome vid thank you! Super helpful straightforward and easy.
Excellent video thank you for sharing I have just started Lumafusion and this is a massive help.
Ou thank for this guide ! Can you please make a video how to spin a pen so cool in your hand how you did it on 1:50 ? :D
