Thank you so much for showing me some of the most amazing places in the country I now call home ❤️ As always, when you live in a place you don’t always get to see the best parts, normal life gets in the way! I have not been to a lot of the places you visited - Plovdiv being the exception, I love that city and it’s only 90 minutes from home and I’ve got to know it quite well. So now your itinerary became my wish list! If you are ever here in Bulgaria again I would happily be your driver if you will be my tour guide- you saw more in a few weeks than I have seen in years here 😂 I’m really enjoying your other videos, not sure I’ll ever get to explore as far as you have so it’s great to be living vicariously ❤

@@helendennis7662 Hah it's funny how that goes... it's same for me and my home country The Netherlands, which I don't know nearly as well as other places. Glad you enjoyed this, we must team up next time then! 😄

Lovech was one of the first industrial towns in Bulgaria. That started in the second half of 19th century. It was also one of the cities with largest population in that part of Ottoman Empire which is now present day Bulgaria.
P.S. Rakia is actually brandy. Its alcohol content could reach 80%

Turnovo was referred to as the Third Rome once the Crusaders sacked Constantinople. Thank you for visiting.

There is indeed an archeologist here, quite possibly the most famous one in Bulgaria, who is known as the Bulgarian Indiana Jones so you may have actually met him. He's name is Nikolay Ovcharov and is a kind of a big deal :)

@@indietraveller next time if you visit Lovech again, check the The Krushuna waterfall also. Anyway the covered bridge is not the original one. The original one was made from wood and it burned in 1912 if I am not mistaken. The bridge was rebuild during the 30th I guess. Also another interesting fact is that Second Bulgarian Empire was established in Lovech in the fortress that you was. The piece agreement between Bulgaria and East Roman Empire was signed in the Lovech.

Bathing in the Rila lakes is forbidden.

Please, do not swim in the mountain lakes. It is not allowed. If everyone takes a dip the water will change its composition. So many humans trodding on the ground is enough to have an effect on the fragile ecosystem.
