Looking forward to Franken Hoe! It may not be what I’m thinking of, but I’m excited either way. Thanks for taking the time to explain your math as well, heck of a video.
Trusses are up, waiting on steel now. I'll probably make a quick video on it one of these days. Always stuff to do, never enough time in the day! Thanks for asking, Scruffy!
Yup.. YT is on it with the notifications 😂🤣😂😂🤣😂🤬 Always fun getting speeds figured out, makes a big difference when you know what you need at the end and what you have to start with 👍
Im planning to do the same. Neighbor has a H312 ditch witch attachment. All i see on it is the mounting brackets, the offset pipe to off set it, 2 hydraulic hoses that attach to the center where the trencher chain centers, but i dont see and sprocket or anything for driving the trencher. This leads me to believe that everything is driven by hydraulics? Perhaps it has a hydraulic motor? Any ideas on this model.?
cool all kinds of good numbers there and it would be so easy to change speeds on that by the drive sprockets then. Otherwise i could see you just putting a laser system and valves to control your trench grade very easy
Haa! It could be done I suppose! Maybe on FrankenTrencher version 10.0 lol! I really think the next step is figuring out a drive/crawl system. But got too many other projects in line first, you know how that goes! Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@AJmx2702001 Oliver had a creeper gear for the 4-digit tractors, but it replaced the hydrapower (2-speed) / Hydraul-Shift (3-speed) shift-on-the-go options, so I'd much rather have the Hydraul-Shift over the creeper. They also had a "Reverse-O-Torque" (torque converter) for some of the industrial applications. Still wouldn't be ideal for a trencher, but they put them on cable plows a lot. Oliver was working on a IVT, and had at least 1 working prototype in the late 60s, but some funnybusiness was going... not sure the details... not sure anyone knows... But anywhoo... short-story-long... nope, no hydrostat option for an Oliver 4-digit :(
I've been working on my old 99 dodge ram I got 3 weeks ago. It has a bad O2 sensor. I'm really debating putting the body it has on a 1 ton dually frame
Would totally do that... if I had one. Buying a new one is pretty darn expensive for what I'm trying to do. I thought about making one, but decided the shear bolts was "good enough". Still might try to figure out some kind of clutch tho, it would be quicker to get back to work if it catches on something.
I agree. A trencher is something to rent. You've got it the right way, because you can take it off the tractor and there's no engine or tires to maintain. For the record, last year I put in a new drain tile for my mom's geothermal with my backhoe. It didn't even notice the phone line in her front yard.
Nice work on first! Yes, that's true, if it's just an attachment, I suppose it isn't as much of a cost/maintenance liability. Yeah, still definitely easy to snag them wires no matter what you're digging with! Even a spade!
they are extremely dangerous ,seen it first hand house builders and plumbers love them in rock a trencher is a monster and excavotor have to hv a hammer to do that oops going off topic lol
That's very true as well! Backhoe/excavator has its own dangers, but that trencher is like a giant chainsaw just waiting to tear into something - they're pretty intimidating!
Thanks for the detailed explanation, you have created a very cool attachment and I am looking forward to the next project
Thanks! Thanks for watching and commenting! I'm sure you'll see FrankenTrencher again!
Lots of good info in this video.👍
Thanks! Math... who knew it was so useful lol!

No problem! Thanks for watching! Waiting on some parts, hope to be working on FrankenHoe soon!

@@burningdinosaurs by the way how is the constructiom of the new building coming along?

It does indeed! Yeah darned math always getting in the way of fun! lol!
@@burningdinosaurs simple math, but sometimes it gets complicated in the mind🤪
Good evening Sir 🌞Great way to answer various questions 👍 Keep up the good works ans can't wait your next video about a backhoe ? 🤔 Cheers 👍
Thank you, sir! Yes, there's a backhoe (sort-of) in the works! Thanks for watching and commenting!

@@burningdinosaurs i take it oliver never offered anything with a creeper gear or Hydro trans lol

You made my head hurt with all that math. That's a lot of gray matter at work that I probably don't have. Lol
Haa! Math... never thought I'd use the stuff in school and darned if I don't catch myself using it pretty much every day doggonnit!

I'll have to check it out. I'm not sure how easy the bodies are to swap out, but that sounds like a good upgrade to me!
Why not try a slip clutch like they use on bush hogs?
