  • Hello Everyone! Please bear with me through this video, it was definitely a hard one to record and I did not expect to cry as much as I did. It is my hope that some of you will find some hope, strength, or encouragement through my story. If nothing else, maybe a little more of an understanding about what you will go through during your fight.
The loss of my father at the beginning of my cancer journey was one of the hardest things I have ever dealt with in my life. There are times where this video may seem "choppy" or "disconnected" and I apologize for that. Recording it was quite emotional and difficult :)
KOMO4 did a story on my dad also.. here is the link:

thank you for inspring. I'm 36 years old and was diagnosed with cervical cancer. I just got done with Round 5 of my chemo. I was on leave of absence from cosmetology school but I'm going back soon. I can handle the side effects much better now. which is nausea and vomiting. I am fighting and staying strong, especially for my two sons. thank you for sharing your story.

I just found your channel and currently watching this as the first video. I am also fighting breast cancer and was diagnosed stage 2b in December 2020. I lost my dad in 2016 when he was killed. There's still rarely a day that goes by where I don't think of him in some way. I often think of how if he was alive now he would want to be by my side at every appointment if he could.. and going through all of this cancer stuff would be easier if he was here for me to talk to. I'm sure that you felt the same way and I'm so sorry you lost your dad that way. Sending love 💕

My mother found hers as well. My Aunite passed away 5 years ago from lung cancer and she never smoked a day in her life. My mother was diagnosed in June with stage 2 breast Cancer and she had the lump removed. She has started treatment and she’s doing good. Her hair just started to fall out and her spirits are great. Her grandchildren are very helpful and always want to be around her. My dad hates seeing my mom like this but he’s always ready to make her meals when she wants something to eat.

You and I have talked about the fact that I had a hard time getting behind how your journey almost felt like a celebration at times. So you are right, even though I wasn't going through it, everyone relates to situations differently. You did you and look at you now!! I love you!

God bless you. Never feel bad for showing your grief. I just lost my mom after many losses and I cry when I need to, never mind others hun. If they don't like it they can just get a heart and close their eyes.
My sister has the lump on the same breast she had the cancer on last year. Doesn't sound good. But I'm praying for her and all of you going through this. Think pink. Tomorrow begins breast cancer awareness month. Let's beat this together.

I agree with ML; However, I would never have chemotherapy, as it can kill and maim. Diagnosed with cancer? Do not have chemo!!! Although children survive cancer, I would still not have it!!! See the case of Cassandra C.

You are a brave woman!!!! I get you about the waiting for results. Within the last month and a half ive had to wait 2 weeks for 3 different results. Core needle biopsy( which wasnt enough tissue), so had to have a surgical biopsy and now i have another week to wait for my sentinel node biopsy. It is killing me and my anxiety is thru the roof!!!

Hello! I have Er+Pr+HER2 right breast. I have had lumpectomy and two weeks later partial mastectomy. Now I am on chemotherapy/Immunotherapy. Then from there radiation and a 5 year preventative oral pill. This is a rough journey. The meds makes you feel so bad but you know that already. I am praying for you my pink sister and God bless you! We are going to make it through this!!

I’m a cancer serviver with breast cancer s3. It was really the hardest time. Pain after pain I took 5months chemo. It’s a blessing if you have people around you supporting you. But it’s sad. If you have people blaming you all the time. If you show your pain like me if you were complaining from the side effects of treatment. The situation became worst. No one can feel with you only your mom or who went through this. But others no. I’m talking about my self. I’m sure your different than me. . Every time I woke up with new side effect. Differnt pain. You can’t sleep like others it’ was really. Hard journey. 😣😖😖

Hello 😊 I actually found your channel looking for a different type of cancer, but your video has touched me ❤ I lost my dad suddenly in 2006 when I was 23. I felt your pain as you were trying to get those words out ❤ you talk a lot about fighting, but what if someone you love has treatable lung cancer and refuses to fight? It's my mom 😯 She was diagnosed September 29th with adenocarcinoma and refuses to even talk about chemo and radiation. About 28 years ago my Gran passed from cancer even with chemo and radiation and my mom was there. How do you convince a very stubborn woman to fight? Because right now.... All I feel is helpless.

Crissy D my heart is breaking for you just reading this.. it must be so hard to have someone you love not wanting to fight.. especially when it is treatable. What if you asked her to do it for you not for herself? I will be praying for you and her.

Replying to CD; Please do not force your lovely Mum to have chemotherapy; it can kill, maim, extend life, but it will be of very poor quality. Your lovely Mum is not wrong. See my earlier reply.

I found a tumor over 2 years ago. Until Sept 2018 I tried naturally to heal myself. I must have done pretty well as my 6 cm cancer was contained on my left breast contained . my Dr refused to believe a tumor that size had not metastasized. But after biopsy of lymph and PET scan showed all clear. But I learned I had tripple positive breast cancer. Just got my port today. Chemo and herceptin and perjeta starts next Wed. I'm glad I found your videos. How are you doing now? Do you have a current update video. Thank you so much for all your hard work.

You are so beautiful. I'm waiting on my primary care physician to set up a referral to see a genetic counselor because I had 8 paternal family members that passed away from cancer including my father and 3 more paternal family members that are now cancer survivors. My paternal grandfather passed away from cancer before I was born and I have a maternal cousin now that has cancer and she is 37 2 years older than me. I'm scared. I don't have any lumps or pains anywhere but I'm concerned because my uncle passed away from it last week.

I am so sorry to hear about your dad. I can not imagine what that must have been like on top of your diagnosis. I just found out I have breast cancer. My mom had it. Hers wasn't bad but mine is. I just found out yesterday that I need chemo. I though oh my goodness how an I gonna go through chemo. Losing my hair which I was told will fall out after the second treatment. I started to look for videos where other women shaved their heads bc of chemo and I came across yours. For some reason I clicked subscribe to your channel because u just seemed like and inspiration to me. Then as I watched I saw your story about chemo and your dad. I am so sorry. From the bottom of my heart I feel for you. Words can not say enough. I am sorry. But you are truly an inspiration to us women who have been diagnosed. I would love to talk to u more. Please email me. Bakertj070@gmail.com. I would love to talk more with you about your journey. And I want to thank you for sharing your story with all of us women who are just starting ours. Thank u and I would love to hear from you. God bless u and I will keep u in my prayers. I will never forget watching your videos as an inspiration to the beginning of my breast cancer journey....god bless and may you be healthy and free from this cancer. Thank u for sharing. It means more than you know!!!
