I love it-I’ve enjoyed playing with my Korg AX1G, and its somewhat unique (if limited) functions, for over 15 years now, even after acquiring “more pro” effects units. I’m glad to see you’re not having trouble engaging the momentary switch below the expression pedal, as sometimes can happen. I think I first found your channel when searching for videos about other Korg AX multi-effects units. Great, fun AX1G demos! That AX1G can shine when heard in stereo, even direct out. Thanks!
Gearfacts, I often wonder if you may have a recommendation for a logical upgrade/next step for someone who has a fondness for the AX1G? I have trouble keeping track of all of the Korg multi-fx. (And, there’s the other manufacturers to consider, too.) I would want one with weird, fun effects; but, I would also want looping and sampling, similar to the AX1G, just expanded/improved. This pondering all occurs to me now and then, when I wonder what I would shop for if my AX1G died one day... Thank you!
Funnily enough, eBay reminded me an AX1500G I was watching was about to end, and I bought it yesterday. The AX1500G seems a logical upgrade from my AX1G. Also, the momentary switch under the pedal on my AX1G just went from faulty to completely broken - can’t use the sample, loop, or scratch functions, now (but at least the Pedal effects aren’t turning on and off, randomly). Maybe one day I’ll fix that AX1G momentary switch, but for now: AX1500G! And for around the price an AX1G might sell for! Thanks for your help with the demos and with finding great older gear!
Huzzah! That thing is mental! Reminds me of the Red Panda tensor... but Decades preceeding it. Seems the plastic housing and 2 second limit for loops might be it's only weaknesses. Great for it's age!!
I picked this up for $15 at a thrift shop and felt pretty overwhelmed when trying to mess around with it for a bit. Thanks for diving into this as the looping was why I decided to pick it up. P.S. This is probably the best $15 I've ever spent on guitar equipment.
Thanks - almost tips my decision to get one. Just need to see if I can run delay or echo plus reverb simultaeneously. Discovered these by accident looking for reverb pedal. Hello, it's got a volume which I also want... and the sound quality seems OK for little acoustic open mics (as in guitar, not sans PA:)
I think delay and reverb were mutually exclusive on this pedal, but you might want to google "AX1G PDF", that'll give you the manual. Sorry I can't remember, it's been a while! GF
@@gearfactsThat was about 12 years ago. Now that is approx the going price for the AX1G on ebay. I think I still have mine in a box in the garage. I didn't really know how to use multi-effects units then, and would just use the included patches unmodified. Then I bought an AX1000G. I really didn't know what I was doing with that one either, and I never really used it. Finally I bought an AX100G. This was much more approachable somehow (or perhaps I was beginning to understand the concepts by exposure) and I figured out how to make it work for me in a band setting at church. Since then I have owned a ton of different stuff. My current rig includes a Roland VG-88, a Zoom G3X and a Line 6 AM4, with some other support pedals. I have a Rowin Dumbler, an Electroharmonix Freeze pedal, a Behringer RV600 Reverb Machine pedal, and I use a Behringer MIC-200 microphone preamp as a versatile direct box (yes really).
Amazing video as always.... Please make one using the AX1G in conjunction with stomp boxes as a hybrid pedal board.... Will be helpful and motivating to hear what it sounds like from a pro
@@gearfactscm on, give it a try.... And it would be inspiring to us amateurs alike... I mean, I just finally completed the set up of my board and could do with some great pointers
Bought this a few months ago, I've figured out how to get onto the loop and sample function in the edit menu but, whenever I hold the expression pedal up ready to get the loop the LED doesn't flash even though the light turns on for almost every other setting... Am I missing something else here? Is there something you've else that you've got to select before actually recording a sample or is my pedal just faulty? Cause I'm pretty stumped here lol
Nice, I guess people just don't read the manual and sometimes things are too buried up in menus, looking back most multieffects had sound on sound one way or another - either hold delay, full on sampler or looper mode even. It can be taken for granted, as most stuff nowadays comes with really long delay times and all that. Great for experimental sounds indeed.
Thanks for this video, super useful. I've found one of these for a ridiculous price and I'm having lots of fun. I have a question: when recording a sample or loop, the input level is not sensitive enough to pick up more subtle sounds, and I have to play really loud. Does anyone know the trick?? The input level switch is already on H, and my guitar volume is high.
Hi Gearfacts , can you help me please , i have one become but the pedal its not working the spring and the rest of mechanic is away, if you can please a pic or video showme how is the parts of this piece, i gona pretty grateful with you !!!
Por mucho que veo el vídeo y me leo todo , no consigo hacer loops , no se me enciende el pedal para poder hacerlo ni parpadea el resto en todos los modos va perfecto , alguien que me pueda ayudar ?
Thank you very much for the demo. Its made me to decide never to buy,be given or win on eBay this awful FX pedal .About as useful as a chocolate hammer or a germ ridden covid mask.🤣🤣🤣

Thank you very much for the video! AX1G was given as a gift to me and I underestimated it at first. I want to experiment with it more now!
This was the guitar pedal I ever owned. About 16 years ago - I loved it.
Picked one up second hand! I'm now even more pleased with it!! Very informative.. Cheap and awesome!!
One of the best value products in the entire market, I think

The best! For sheer fun, at least :)

$15 - Total bargain!
@@gearfacts Work and a problematic guitar have kept me from getting to use it much so far. Can't wait to use it more.
I just found one at a thrift store marked down to $15 as well! Just diving into it but so happy to finally add a pedal to my toys.

great vid ive had this pedal for years and never worke dout how to loop wihtit,
Yeah the looper is weird and tricky, and arguably not a even a real looper... But I hope the video helped a bit :) #gearfacts
This was my first ever guitar pedal and used it at church for about a year before I upgraded. I paid $25 for it at the MIT flea market.
Nice deal :)

Not that I know of, but you can still get the manual by Googling "Korg AX1G PDF"
Yes, thanks. I couldn't find that particular info
how do you connect it to the stuff im new and super confused
It goes like this: Guitar >cable> pedal >cable> ampifier/AUX input on your speaker. Or you can plug headphones directly into the pedal.
