Marchand’s grandma passed away the day before that game. What a legendary way to end a great game. Hence the reason he was shedding tears and went right down the tunnel.
That's a cool story RIP Frances O’Leary. One heck of a hockey grandma. You know who's in those stands in their early years, they don't miss a game... Grandmas and hockey moms! I also heard during the game from Judd serrat or Jack edwards, can't remember to which one I was listening - Brad had been using a longer stick the past few weeks trying to develop a longer reach Having had hip problems myself, I can tell you that's going to mess with his balance. He's better off going to Swayman's mom for ballet! Like Jeremy did! Yet it was reported that before the Leafs game he went back to his ole standby... The shorter stick that got him to the nhl. And he started scoring! But that story about his grandma explains a lot. I don't see why people are surprised that he's captain, people don't remember the 2011 cup run - that was Chara earning the Mark messier leadership award - they had a lot of grit, much older players, they built the team around Chara not Bergeron. And clearly last playoffs when Patrice was injured, Brad won three out of four gritty games against the panthers. When #37 returned from injury, we proceeded to lose three games in a row... 🤔 No matter how you slice it, that's what happened. Bergeron didn't get it done under his captaincy. The closest we came was when Chara was at the helm. Don Sweeney knows, it takes the son of a bytch, not the son of a social worker to get through playoffs. Patrice sold jerseys and regular season tickets - but I think Brad Marchand will sell more playoff seats! Bobby Orr was a great hockey player, nice guy off the ice. Go back to look at his fighting highlights. He didn't lose a fight. They somehow equate Patrice Bergeron with Bobby Orr - I belonged to the Bobby Orr fan club in the early seventies, there was so many pictures of him bloodied up and fighting...... I don't see the similarities at all. Fans are not remembering these players for actually who they are, only what they accomplished for the teams. But they don't really want to know how sausage is made! They're looking at players through rose-colored glasses. Are black and white footage where you don't see the blood all over the ice! Patrice Bergeron could not get it done, nor come close, without Zdeno Chara. Brad Marchand showed us last playoffs, he was indeed the better captain. Look at the results. Everybody wants to look at statistics until they're not convenient. But Brad's Grandma knows something about her grandson. Apparently he's listening now. 🐀🧀
Marchy skating to the bench either injured, but more likely in tears after that masterpiece 😢goal. Toronto so dejected, players and fans. Jack is right about all the daggers in their hearts. Go Bs.
This by the way, the Hearts of Lions call, Bergeron's tying goal....not the winner in 2013 is Jack's greatest call ever. The way it flows perfectly, timeless

12/2/23
Way to recognize. Will always love Jack, no matter how he evolves, and Brick.
That was a crazy game that should have never gone to OT but the boys walked away with the 2 points and Marchy scored the OT goal so i am good❤
I better double up on my blood pressure meds after watching this one!
A great response to the "Boston Sucks" chant that broke out
I’ve got to go to the bar LOL
Hey Nylander, watch out, that ice can be slippery!
This guy bleeds black and gold. When its all said and done he will stand tall in the hockey hall of fame. I love Marchand.
