the best thing about this is that bruce willis is truly sincere about the blues... i would love to see him perform live.. if you read this bruce... go on the road.
The Stones brought a lot of black blues singer's music to the attention of a whole generation of middle class white kids who otherwise would have never listened to any of it! Added to which, the Stones have never hidden where they got their music from, quite the opposite in fact, they were/are proud to tell the World where the music came from.
Bruce baby, yer easy on the eyes, yer actin' is great, and you get dem blues out better than many. I'm old, toothless and fat but I got a great appreciation for YOU. Ain't dat enough ta git me in yer door?
The man is just amazing. He does so much for our Military. He goes over to Iraq and Afganistan and plays for the troops all the time. A true patriot and a hell of a harp player. :)
blues harp is something that comes out of the heart of a man (or women) it happens when your feeling a little down or when you dont know where to go. or it happens when you're foolin around with some friends. blues can be just somthing to get ya by, or it can be a lifestyle. i know for me, its become a way of life. not so much as the feeling down part of it, i just love the sound and the feeling you get. anyone else feel that way when they play the blues?
"Shake Your Hips" is a song written and performed by American bluesman Slim Harpo. The song has been covered and imitated by many artists, perhaps most notably by the Rolling Stones on their seminal album Exile on Main Street. The song's distinctive guitar work also provided inspiration for ZZ Top's hit "La Grange."
you hit the nail right in the spot...its just that feeling you get when you listen or play the blues.i see people listening to loud rave/dance/techno stuff and i think...poor suckers don't know what music really means...its a real pity that so many people these days can't appreciate the blues for what it is anymore...music that flows from the soul...
Shake Your Hips (sometimes known as Hip Shake) is a song written and first performed in 1966 by American bluesman Slim Harpo. The song has been recorded by many artists, perhaps most notably by The Rolling Stones on their album Exile on Main St.
I remember a roommate I had who was only temporary; checking out a band here of similar. he, however was in a band that played frequently with Bruce after they ran into him when at a venue somewhere n west.
hi boogie'rs! Canned Heat and John Lee Hooker ftw! i play a harmonica piece i got from a mp3 on napster years back. i tell people "that was by Bruce Willis, probably not the actor" now i can say yes! by the actor!! i was unaware!
Todd's Boom Boom is a John Lee Hooker song, who recorded the song with BHT. In the blues it is known as a boogie- covered 1000's of times. Bruce is covering Lester Butler's version...
It's a copy of a version of Shake Your Hips (a Slim Harpo tune) that was done by Billy Boy Arnold on the CD- Back Where I Belong, with Lester Butler on Harp. The harp licks and break at the end that Bruce is playing were created by Lester Butler. Bruce does a great job playing it, but the creative credit goes to Slim Harpo and Lester Butler....
Well if Dan Akroyd ever decides to make another blues brothers movie, he should talk to Bruce. Blues and some comedy. Did anyone ever see the Moonlighting Episode where Willis was grooving to Manic Depression? Also, I was blown away by the sound of his harp, here and again with Billy Preston and BB King.
I saw this show last week in Canada and they were awesome! Bruce is wicked with his harmonica and I don't think anyone can play a better guitar than Doug. An excellent show!!! Thanks for sharing...Hope to see more soon! Think you'll ever come to Pittsburgh?
@themredweirdoshow I read your comments... What's your point? Most artists dabble in many different forms of artistic expression. If you must critique a particular artistic ability of theirs, it should be based on how good they are. Not on the fact that what they're doing isn't their regular 'gig'. Bruce is quite good at doing the blues, at that's all that should matter.
all part of the blues process..you can hear it in john lee hooker...slim harpo...fred mcdowell...the rolling stones...canned heat...zz top...and on and on... funny how nobody seems to obsess over the fact that most hip and rap rhythms are so much the same.
Here in 2024, loving this man ❤
the best thing about this is that bruce willis is truly sincere about the blues... i would love to see him perform live.. if you read this bruce... go on the road.

Музыка это язык высшего уровня. Брюс может общаться с помощью музыки и рассказывает то, чего не рассказывают его фильмы,точнее дополняет.
