Lived in hawaii for a little bit and one of my buddies out there used to play this song, loved it so much I bought an ukulele. Thank you so much for this video, this was the first song I learned to play starting yesterday! Found it hard to down and upstrum without any one cord being strummed too hard, so for now im just down strumming with my thumb to play. I'm on beat, but i could see how a faster tempo'ed song would render that technique useless

great tutorial ive been coming back to for a year or so now. very clear cut and if you know the song, the strumming pattern is easy to get down. the hardest part for me is switching between G and Gmaj7. awkward having fingers stacked like that and having to position them back and forth. but practice makes better! pretty cool i can play the song, and so simply too!

It's My first few days of learning but I find it so hard to make a Gmaj7 or G cords fast without it sounding terrible

Quentin Stevenson I use my middle finger to bar the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd strings on the second fret for Gmaj7, then move my middle finger up on the 3rd string, index on the 1st, and ring finger on the 2nd string, 3rd fret for G. It’s worked pretty well so far!

I have nylon strings(i think you mean nylon for "plastic") and if you practice you will notice that the sound won't be this different

If anyone is struggling with going from Cmaj7 to G:
For Cmaj7 just bar the strings needed with your middle finger and when going to G you can just add your ring finger to the 2nd string which makes the G chord :) good luck!

I was confused at first and then I actually got it. Basically, the same strumming pattern but split it with the other chords. So Am7 for DD and Cmaj7 for UDUD DDU & UDUD DUDU. Gma7 for DD and G for UDUD DUDU. Hopefully that helps.
