The Baekdudaegan Global Seed Vault opened in 2015 in Bonghwa, North Gyeongsang Province. Bonghwa has been historically known as one of the safest regions from natural and wartime threats in South Korea. The annals of Joseon dynasty were stored in five different regions to protect them from wars, and the “Taebaeksan Sago” (historical depository) located near the Seed Vault was one of them. This shows that the Baekdudaegan Global Seed Vault was built in the safest place you could find in the Korean Peninsula.
It's really fascinating. That's a great initiative to save the plant species for future mankind. Korea is doing great 👍🏻.
Korea has such great plans in place for serious events such as the end of the world . South Korea is such a fantastic country that keeps creating amazing things .

@Abhisar Choubey That's true however Korea also sadly has the highest suicide rate in the world followed by Japan, and I believe it also has the highest household debt of a developed nation. Korea has a saying 'Sleep 5hrs and fail, sleep 4hrs and succeed, Korea treats a lot of its citiziens especially office jobs like robots who don't need to sleep. One of my Korean friends is often still in the office at 3-4am in the morning! It's crazy!
Likr Japan, a lot of Koreans are expected and forced to do overtime work which they don't get paid for at all :(😞😓😩😤😡😠
@Abhisar Choubey Sorry I meant it has the highest suicide rate in the world amongst young people and high-school students as so much is expected of them and the competition is crazy, but like the UK it's a very small country but has a huge population especially Seoul with everyone wanting to move to Seoul for better job opportunities. But not as crazily condensely populatsd as Osaka or Tokyo.
Yeah Korea is very good at making environmental and happy places like the Seoul Sky Garden. Recently the government or mayor of Seoul has sparked a little bit of controversy among its citiziens by wanting to turn all the Han River Parks to a 'No Alcohol' zone.
If New York is the city that never sleeps, Korea is very much the country that never sleeps hahaha.
Korea's biggest issue at the moment however is it's low birth rate. Being the lowest in the world and fallen even below Japan’s which it is very well known for.
@@123qu1 they are not highest suicide rate . Korea stand at number 5 . Im sure most of asian countries have many suicide cases

I have been knowing about the Seed Vault for years. Thank you for giving more detail and refreshing my memory. Also, didn't know about the one in ROK. I only knew about the vault being in Norway.

Seeds expire after 4 years unless kept in the refrigerator after they are dried and they can last for the longer. Good thing my ancestors are in Norway
