I loved the animation and story of Coraline. I hope you enjoyed the reaction. 💬 Comment below with your thoughts on the movie and what movies you would like to see in the future. "You realize you're walking right into her trap." "I have to go back. They are my parents." "Challenge her, then. She may not play fair, but she won't refuse. She's got a THING for games." The perfect Halloween classic. Fun Fact: Neil Gaiman has said that out of all the film and television adaptations of his books, Coraline (2009) is his favorite. Lost In Adaptation Fact: The character Wybie Lovat (Robert Bailey Jr.) is not in Neil Gaiman's novel. He was created so Coraline (Dakota Fanning) would not have to talk to herself and so she would have a friend her own age. Historical Fact: Mr. Bobinsky (Ian McShane) is wearing the Hero Of The Soviet Union for service at the Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster on April 26, 1986. Which reads on the front "Participant In The Clean-up Campaign" and the "4A3C" is a "Chernobilskaya Nuclear Power Plant" indication. This medal is unique as it is the only medal in the world awarded for participation in a nuclear clean up. That might explain his skin complexion and odd behavior. Mythology Fact: The Other Mother's (Teri Hatcher) name "Beldam" is an archaic word meaning: a malicious and ugly woman, especially an old one; a witch. It was once traditional on Halloween night for kids to dare each other to knock on the neighborhood Beldam's door (an elderly woman living near them). In many stories, a Beldam closely resembles a spider and lures children into her home with candy and treats, only to trap them inside a cobweb and liquefy their innards with venom. In other variations, the Beldam just traps kids in her home and eats them.
I saw this comment and thought i must've already seen this video as I've definitely seen it, but then i realised you must be educating all the Coraline reaction channels 💀
I love this movie. Studio Laika really delivers. funnily enough, it never clicked for me until I saw a different reactor making observations on why the parents are a bit neglectful. It's most likely that the parents are in financial problems. But Coraline doesn't understand how bad the financial situation is. Most likely that the parents are stressed out and can't bother explaining a serious financial situation to a young child. Especially if they don't want the kid to bear that pressure too. Remember when real mom says "if things go well, I promise to make things up to you." And then Coraline replies that mom never backs up on that promise. Which means that they can't afford things like more colorful looking gloves, which are probably more expensive to uniform standard. Also, they're probably more stressed with moving and the mom was probably in an accident that gave her that neck-brace. Why move? Maybe they needed to move to someplace that was more financially sound for their situation. It really didn't click for me cuz I was like that too as a kid. I always couldn't get stuff like game consoles or even toys, because my parents moved from the other side of the world to here in the U.S. Now as an adult, yeah I'd be just as irritated and stressed out too. Could the parents be a bit more attentive? Yes. But they're not bad parents. Parents make mistake.
Hold up was this a remastered version or am i just going crazy cause??? It looks so much better than i remember? 😩😭 I’m probably going crazy or it’s that most reactors don’t post their reactions to this movie with as good of a quality hehe
I just watched a reaction to the movie Annihilation. You should definitely check it out. It’s mind blowing. The first time I watched it.. I couldn’t sleep for two straight days. Because I kept thinking about the hidden meanings and the overall message of this movie.
🥸👍 If you enjoyed this, then three other movies that also use this style of animation that you'll also probably enjoy are "The Nightmare Before Christmas" (1993), "James And The Giant Peach" (1996) and "The Corpse Bride" (2005). All of them are perfect Halloween fair...And by the way, dowsing rods are like crystal balls and Ouija boards. A load of nonsense. 👻
Amazing reaction to this film! It’s literally the best family horror film that quite a dark and twisted yet humorous and entertaining. 😆😇😱😈🪡🐈⬛🖤💛💙🩷 𝙵𝚞𝚗 𝙵𝚊𝚌𝚝𝚜: * Beldame means an old woman, a malicious and ugly woman; especially an old one, a witch. * When the Other Father is “playing” the piano, his song is a warning to Coraline about the Other Mother’s true nature. * If you listen to the Other Mother when she hums, she is literally singing the lullaby from the beginning. You can hear her humming it as well when she’s cooking in the kitchen. * In a way, she is very similar to the Devil himself. They both cannot create but only duplicate and manipulated to make it seem tempting. They both wish to gain power, they can’t resist a challenge to try to show how superior they are, they always lie with fake promises, and they both try to gain human souls. The fact that the Other Mother has them let her sow the buttons for eyes, she gains more power and has their souls trapped there. There is an old saying is that the eyes are the windows to the soul. Therefore by having their eyes she has their soul trapped in the Other World.

I have a small halloween movie list: corpse bride, fear pharm, satan's little helper, sleepy hollow and trick or treat!

"I have to go back. They are my parents."
"Challenge her, then. She may not play fair, but she won't refuse. She's got a THING for games."

“Why does she sound like Fairy Godmother from Shrek?” Because it’s the same actress doing both voices?
It's Jennifer Saunders not only that Caroline is voiced by Sally from cat in the hat
Looooove this movie
First time being first ! 😂
Congratz! Haha
The fact that anyone would consider this a children's movie is demented.
Just wait till you find out it was a children's book recommended for ages 8-12 and was for more insane than the movie
@@PrismaticOmensI thought the book wasn't as bad as the movie lol
It is though lol 8 year old me LOVED this movie
Isn't it a children's horror movie? It's supposed to be scary to them.
@@Shadyoaksretirementthe book is even scarier!!!
