I will never forget this day, we were just entering the stadium for the Swans game when someone told us and there were many of us in tears. I like to think Gary was up there sharing a pint with my great grandad and uncle when Wales played in the Euro's last year. Forever missed, never forgotten x
Possibly the best part... Probably the most harrowing part of this, is when they switch to Nigel in Swansea... Saying what he says while "A Design For Life" was playing in the background.. Tears are flowing here! RIP Speedo!
One of the best players LEEDS UTD have ever seen, R.I.P Speedo what a true legend IMO and fantastic to watch, 2 years today we lost you but you will NEVER be forgotten the angles are looking after you take care Gary R.I.P.
even 8 years on this event still brings me to tears. A great player and even better man. Football lost a star but his family lost a son, husband and father. He must've been suffering so badly. Reach out folks! RIP Speedo.
Can't believe it's been nearly ten years. Still so hard to take and heartbreaking to think he suffered in silence and never felt capable or willing to get the help he needed. If we can take anything positive from the tragedy, it's that young men need to talk about their mental health. Speedo - You're a true Leeds United legend.
I listened to this as it went out live. I have never supported a team that Gary Speed played for or managed but he seemed a decent lad and when this came on air I have to say my legs went to jelly and I had to sit down feeling all numb and shocked. If this was remotely linked with the current paedophile stories then football needs to hold its collective heads in shame.
I remember where I was vividly when the news came through. I'd just sat down with a cup of coffee and Ian went over to Nigel in Swansea and I'm not afraid to say I broke down. Nos da, cariad. XXXXXXXXXXXXX
The day before he died I was at Dean court watching my team AFCB play and I was in the bar before the match watching Focus focus. However, I knew there was something wrong when he was talking to Football focus. 😭 RIP Garry Speed ❤️️
My mate Gaz that was really close to me when he was home in Cardiff, he would ask me about football, and not the other way around. I love him and thank him for his friendship
I was hearing this live. Came as a complete surprise and shock.
You don't say..the rest of us were all completely expecting it..
Me too - hearing it back there is grief in the voice of Nigel Adderly - I missed that at the time.

RIP Speedo.
I was coming back from a trip to York when I heard the news. Coach full of Geordies absolutely devastated. Still can’t quite believe he’s gone.
I remember listening to this as it happened, and it was simply shocking. RIP Gary, you would have been proud of Wales effort at the Euros.

Leeds thru and thru, we should never have let him go.
