what? Pixies is a not a power pop band plus the J Santiago guitar work that changed the way rock bands were doing the stuff. Great lyrics (even better in the F, Black solo albums) What about Subbacultcha; the happening etc? go back and listen again

They (Frank Black) were inspired by Husker Du, old Christian Rock stuff, The Stooges - all kinds of mad stuff, hence their unique and strange style. Kim Deal answered an ad for a bassist that read: "Band seeks bassist into Hüsker Dü and Peter, Paul and Mary. Please - no chops."
