I explored Albania, a small European country that was ruled by communism and dictatorship for 40 years. Life was hard during that time, with shortages of many things. I started by visiting Tirana, the capital, which has changed a lot since communism ended. It's now a vibrant city with tall buildings and lots to see.
Then, I went to the countryside to see how people live and farm there. Despite the changes in the cities, rural life hasn't changed much. It's still very natural and beautiful. I also got to try traditional Albanian food, which was really tasty.
Meeting local people and hearing their stories made me think about what's important in society. Even though Albania used to be cut off from the world, the people were really friendly and welcoming. It's a great place to visit if you ever get the chance. And don't forget to subscribe for more travel stories!

WHO AM I? My name is Shota and I'm a traveler and van conversion enthusiast. When I was 19, I left Japan and spent nine years exploring different countries and immersing myself in diverse cultures. 安い安い言ってるけど、日本よりちょっと安いかなぐらいで日本の貧しさを実感した😂
1年半ほど前に2か月ほど生活していました。首都ではなかったので、ライフラインも十分ではなく、日本の生活と比較するとお世辞でもよい環境とは言えませんでした。でも本当に手付かずの自然がまだたくさん残っていて、日本人大好きな人も多く、食べ物もおいしいくて、安い！夏のシーズンになると対岸のイタリアからキャンピングカーで旅行にわんさか人がやってくる。おいしいピザも安く食べれる！とっても素敵な国でした。
価格が日本とあまり変わらないか少し安い程度なのは日本のヤバさを感じてしまう…
アルバニア人の同僚と毎日手仕事をしています。彼女から直接話をいろいろと聞いていますが、映像で見ると違う角度からの情報に触れられてとても楽しいです。ありがとうございます🙏✨

南ギリシャでオリーブ農家をしていますが、たくさんのアルバニアの方が、ギリシャに住みながらオリーブ農業肉体労働をされています。
ホームレスが居ない、みんな助け合いをするっていうのは社会主義を経験した国のいいところですよね！
