- The Ford Capri is a very small and lightweight car and can be a real beast when set up for drag racing! This guy took it to a new level and shoehorned a late model 5.0 Coyote engine between the fenders of his Capri! We were stoked to see it in person at Ford Fest this year!

PURCHASE:
My Dad Bought Repairs and Sold these cars in UK back in the 70s and 80s some had 1.6 2.0 and 3.0v6 Engines
So Grew up with these Cars but to see the Motor that this has Got its on a new Level .Awsome
That's a bad ass little car I'd drive the hell out of it. Awesome job
Love the quad headlights, especially on small cars
Very rare cars. Haven’t seen on in years
I had a 73 Capri back in 83. Took out the 2.8 V6 and slipped in a 327 chevy with a powerglide. Went with a chevy motor because it fit over the rack and pinion. In the rear I installed a set of 1968 mercury cougar tail lights. But I wasn't smart enough to make the sequential tail lights work with a Mercury Cougar blinker box.
My very first car 1969 1600 XL. Had a wild back end in the wet! The girls loved it.
My dad had one in 73...had a turbo kit installed on it...back then people didnt know what it was...made about 180 hp...went like hell...fun to drive..
Always liked the old Capri’s, never knew they had that nowhere near that much room under the hood though lol
Yes the V6 was about the biggest lump and still lots of room to work on them.
Nice, i had 3 MK1 capri`s` back in the Eighties all had V6 engines, they were a 3ltr GXL manual, 3ltr GXL auto and a 3000 E. all great fun and not as much traffic on the roads here in the UK so you could thrash them about now and then.
I just love my 71 and 74 ford capri's
Neat how he has his ballast set up in the trunk with removable plates, those Capris are very light out back.
In the UK we used to throw a few sacks of cement in the boot/trunk.
Wow never seen THAT year . Love it 😍
I know exactly what that is as a brit in Texas , my friends and I had Mk I and IIs in the UK, Fords were Kings in 70s and 80s even 90s in the UK
The Capri was the best looking car but even the factory Ml III was weak.
The Capri was the European Mustang analog in those days designed in Cologne Germany, you agree with me, the Capri looked so much better !!
love that they say what the heck is that ~~~!!
Love you took a MkI and made it SHOOT >>>>
Brilliant car and thank you !
I owned two of them with the V6 motors and they would fly
sweet ride! keeping the blue oval. love it! 👌
Built at the Ford Assembly Plant in Cologne, Germany. Same thing for the early to mid 1970's Mercury Capri for the North American market.
Euro Fords need more love here in the states, I still want a 92 escort cosworth.
I love these. My first car dad got me a 1974 Capri 2.8 V6. Auction in 1988 it needed u joints they have ,3 peice drive shafts. It was fast little car rpm rev right up and beautiful little cars. Sweet with V8. I want to build a V8 Capri. Good luck find one
The 1974 Capri would have had a 3.0 V6
It's a well done job nicely done
This is fkn great love it!
Americans: the ULTIMATE petrol heads :D
What'a great build... Simple, Effective, Adjustable! What was his choice? Who built the C4 Trans?
My first car was just about exactly this car. Same color. Same vinyl roof. Only difference was mine had the saddle color interior and a sunroof.
Yes that would be that kind of engine if I wanted to go with v8 one question did you had to reinforce the body
its a Mk1 Capri. the engine bays were always massive..how much do you want for it including export back to England?
That's a west German built capri, very similar to uk made capri but better build quality back in the day. I had one of these back in the 80s, previous owner rallied it and it was beat, drove it for 2 more years and could not kill it, finally sold it. That looks so stock I would love to drive it on the street.
I love those engines, I wish I can get my hands on a good one. I'm in South Africa. I have a 197102 Fairmont Ranchero that would love that engine. At the moment it has a 3,6lt straight six engine.
You can get one through Ford Motorsports for 15K
The weights in the trunk🤣🤣🤣
That’s a tight fit I wonder how he got on with the headers
Kiwi Boosted Garage probably did a mustang II fromtnend
Wow ...just love it .. I remember as a kid growing up in the 70s my dad had the same one ...and also an Opal too ... I wish i could find me an old 70 Opal and LS Sawp it or Coyote swap it .. Shit even a hemi anything V8 with a supercharger makes my blood pump
Opel not opal
@@montrielamonth2159 haha ok ...true ...thanks ...lol .. Thank tou for the correction ...its funny how all the cars ya didnt like as a kid start to grow on ya now ...like i would love to get my hands on a Gremlin ... I just recently saw a 1971 it had a chevy drivetrain 327 n 4 speed with a 10 bolt with 373s .... I have a BUICK APOLLO
Looks identical to a Nova
Damn, a C4 on a Coyote? Interesting
Race prepped. Seen BBF running them to cut down on weight. They're expensive but strong.
They're the Powerglide of Fords; just gotta beef them up
Great car is it for sale
Why the locked cams and cable on the old school throttle body?
Oh it’s got a Holley thing on it. Why didn’t he use a stock Ford ECU? Lol
What's the grey area?
🤘❤🤘
Coyote engine fit cuz no shock towers but Macpherson struts
Ford of South Africa put a Windsor 289 V8 as a factory engine for there ralley model Capri called the Pirana .this is nothing new.
Interesting. I never heard of that.
I alway thought these were fugly, I like the pinto look way better.
@David Galea yes :)
The did have a Mercury name plate because my brother had a1976 capri

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned
from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the
Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025
on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas
station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station fuel
pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in
the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems,
turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and
New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be
done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of
crime here, called emissions and smoke crime accoring to the new BABVVO law of Mrs Bärbock :-(//
Don't worry. The EU won't exist in 2030.
@@JazzFunkNobby1964No the greens here tell instead of EU there will be a green socialist transformed community called Schlabubvvo....
liar.
@@nothanks3590 sadly not please google Babvvo and Tebbvo laws!!
It would only be cool if it had an Ls in it....
Boring? You are definitely GAY!
@@chevydude7049 You are another ls loving dickhead. This car is cool, and you are a total trolling moron. Last thing this car needs is another piece of chev junk under the hood !!
