    Excellent choices,especially #1😊 My sister bought me a book for Christmas a few years ago that I've also enjoyed entitled the backyard homestead. I found it to be very helpful, especially since I'm on a tiny 1/2 acre of land.

    Great job the little house on the prairie was a book I learn alot from .plus I was lucky enough to meet and talk to men and women who farmed the old ways, Roy Underhill with his show made me love old tools and use them over new ones I've got a large number of books on farming and other things from the old days and love them deeply and if I find I forgot something I can go back and refresh and always working in relationship with god and the land is the key to success keep up the good work and god bless to you

    Thank you for sharing your list of the 10 most influential books you've read. I very much enjoyed watching. I agree with your appraisal of Roy's book, 'Khrushchev's Shoe'. It is a most excellent book. Admittedly, I didn't buy my copy. As I recall, a wise and kind merchant in Arkansas loaned it to me during my travels. I sincerely hope that the person that borrowed your book sees this episode and promptly returns your book.

    #1 is also mine...and my copy is filled with notes...my daughter has ''dibs'' on that when l've gone to Glory. l do so agree about reading to your kids....in my troubled marriage, reading to my boys every night was a blessing to me and to them. My mother read Laura Ingalls Wilder's books to us, l read them to my kids, and they have read them to their kids. Seeing how reciting memorized Scripture helped keep the Ingalls family's spirits up during the Long Winter is an example to us all....memorize, memorize....and the Holy Spirit will pop those blessed words into your mind, when you really need them....anyway....thank you for another excellent video.

    Hello my friend!!! Growing up the Laura Ingalls Wilder books had an impact on me. I love those books and reread them in my adulthood. That family living and surviving together and being resourseful just resonated with my own family dynamics. You know the knowledge our parents have from the old days. I wish i could capture all that my daddy knows. And as a side note ...I gave my dad a lot of those FoxFire books but someone borrowed them and you guessed it theyve never made it back! 😊

      Yes, Laura Ingalls Wilder was and is an American treasure. (Farmer Boy is the book that has so many stories that especially resonated with me...like the lemonade at the fair story).

    Mr. Mack you would love the book entitled "what hath God Wrought" by William Grady; it is an American history written from a Biblical perspective. You have probably already read it, but if not, you would really enjoy it I think.

Box car children I was just talking with my brother the other day how it inspired some of my self sufficient ideas, I remember as a kid longing for a life where I relied on my own skills to survive. Check out some of Joel Salatins books I find them very interesting. Thanks for your great content it often inspired me as well

    Can you suggest a book on lawnmower repair, I got a flyer in the mail yesterday from a local place charging 95 Dollars for a Mower Tune-up. I think I paid all of $129 for my mower, sure makes me glad I grew up knowing how to do these things myself.
    BTW On a more serious note if anyone is interested at looking at some of these books I know several are available on the Internet Archive, even if you prefer a hard copy it's nice to be able to take a look and make sure it's something you want.

    Love Spurgeon, I've listened to around 100 of his sermons. Not a fan of RC and Piper because they teach that God doesn't offer all humans salvation. Most Calvinist don't completely understand what Calvinisim teaches. God bless y'all
    My favorite book is God's word, the Bible. The Bible is the only book that can be completely trusted.

    • @farmhandscompanion
      @farmhandscompanion  6 месяцев назад +5

      I don't want to get too deep on this on this particular platform (a "comments" section on RUclips), but you're not accurate about Sproul and Piper's stance on that. Their teachings on the offer of salvation differs in no way from Spurgeon's.
