HOW can people stand still in that song!!! I'm sitting on my bed with my ipad just about bouncing off my knee!!! The good old days when music was MUSIC 😀😀😀😀😀😀
I'm on another planet when this comes on and I'm driving my car, the volume goes up and I'm screaming with pure rock n roll joy, sheesh, what a groovy song.
@@banzospod lol...can't remember even making this comment back then, but it's pure joy isn't it...music is the best drug 😈...with a little touch of alcohol! 🤣😇
I know.. me 2.. I'm sitting on a folding chair in my bedroom so hot in here.. What a great version... I been listening to them since I could remember.. and I'm 70 years old now... ROCK ME ... ROCK ME
Everything is fucking perfect: instrumental arrangements, harmonies, solos, rythm section: everything. And Tom's voice has America's greatest music history wrapped up in it. Bloody giants. That's what Doobie Brothers are. And as a Motown junkie myself, all I can say is THANK YOU for this superlative versh.
China grove, long train runnin, listen to the music, great songs but damn this had soul and energy and emotion that is unparalled. Little motown, little blues, little rock n roll
I've just watched an earlier version in. The early 70s and he and the band sound just as good here as there.. Not changed much at all and his voice is just as good as it was back then
I've seen these guys twice in the past few years and they can still rock! I also think that these guys have one of the greatest sounding names in rock and roll history. The Doobie Brothers!
RnRHoF is bogus. They should have inducted the Doobs in 83. Since they inducted rap and lesser bands, the hall has no criteria and credibility. For example: How cold the cure be relevant? However, the Doobs remind us of the great bands people love.
I don't think the boys really cared that they got in after so many years of getting overlooked, FUCK the R&RHOF. This band deserved to be in so many years ago and EVERYONE knows it 😤😤😤
I love it!!! This is why people always wanted me to sing anything from the Doobies because I sound just like Tommy Johnston.I practiced his style to duplicate it and love singing "Take Me In Your Arms",Listen To The Music" and "China Grove".I still like watching Tommy,he's the master singer.
There just isn't a better rock and roll tune than this in the whole catalogue - kicking 12 bar with a great middle 8. The great Kim Weston as well as the Isley Brothers have done great versions of this as well and I can imagine so many singers doing equally fantastic versions. In fact I can't really imagine anyone doing a bad version. This is the best so far though and Tom Johnson is right up there with the greats as far as I'm concerned. I could listen to this number for ever! In fact I would love an extended jam on this for about 15 minutes to play at my funeral. There isn't a better celebration of life out there!
This is more like the original by Eddie Holland. I am having Listen To The Music played at my funeral. Have seen the boys 34 times. 3 times last year in 2019. Legend.
This is one of the great songs, as well as Black Water, Running down the Highway, their just a super great band. Seen them many times, but with Synyrd is was special.
I saw them with Skynrd in Philly. It was clearly a Sknyrd show. The Doobies were the warm up band and played for about an hour. Pat said Thanks for coming. Enjoy Lynrd Skynrd. Of course, I like both bands but the favorite is The Doobs.
One of the greatest American Bands. The RnRHoF should have inducted them in 83. Since they inducted lesser bands and rap, the hall does not have criteria or credibility. The Hall is therefore Bogus. but.....the Doobies are for REAL!
The 50th anniversary tour with MICHAEL MCDONALD! Right On!! I hope we get a new album out of them! World Gone Crazy was excellent! Does Ted Templeman have another one left in him?
Tiran Porter is the best bass player the Doobie's ever had. Don't know why he hasn't come back.
True, he said he just got tired of being on the road.
Had this record when a teenager early 70s can't believe I got rid of it!!!
Great seeing the Doobies with the 2 best drummers and one of the best bass players they ever had. I do not mean their current bass player.
HOW can people stand still in that song!!! I'm sitting on my bed with my ipad just about bouncing off my knee!!! The good old days when music was MUSIC 😀😀😀😀😀😀
Such a great song. Never gets old and yes, I don't get it how some people just stand there. I'm 65 and if the music is right, I'm still rocking out.
This band is the reason I became a musician!
This video is so kick ass good it makes life so worth living!
Hail rock’n roll!
I know.. me 2.. I'm sitting on a folding chair in my bedroom so hot in here.. What a great version... I been listening to them since I could remember.. and I'm 70 years old now... ROCK ME ... ROCK ME
One of the best songs they ever did!!!!
Oh yeah - mind blown!
Skylark's bass groove has so much kick in this.
But Tiran Porter's was better. Tiran's bass dominates this song in the recorded version. I love it.
I love my Doobs!
What a kick ass performance. Plus that constant kick ass bass line.
Classic Rock never gets old
It just gets better.
Everything is fucking perfect: instrumental arrangements, harmonies, solos, rythm section: everything. And Tom's voice has America's greatest music history wrapped up in it.
Bloody giants. That's what Doobie Brothers are.

These guys can't be beat. This band could be the basis of a new religion. Just GREAT
GREAT to See TOM back in The BAND,,, He and PAT ARE the DOOBIE Bros..
Damn straight, my brother!
i think pat still has jeff “skunk” baxter in his soul because he played his distinctive solo great!
Yes for sure! Thank you for pointing that out 😊!
China grove, long train runnin, listen to the music, great songs but damn this had soul and energy and emotion that is unparalled. Little motown, little blues, little rock n roll
Those background vocals are amazing
I've just watched an earlier version in. The early 70s and he and the band sound just as good here as there.. Not changed much at all and his voice is just as good as it was back then
KK and Big Mike... miss those days!!
dat bass is sooooo on point
I love driving way too fast to this song.
THE BASS PULSE IS ON WHOLE DIFFERENT LEVEL ....JUST AMAZING HOW HE SLAPS THE BRIDGE

WOWZER!!!!!!!!
My VERY favorite Doobie's song. And they did a lot of great ones.
I've seen these guys twice in the past few years and they can still rock! I also think that these guys have one of the greatest sounding names in rock and roll history. The Doobie Brothers!
We know how they got that name😄
i-ve seen them 21 times. loved every minute of them all. this is my favorite song of all time. always brings back great memories of a long time ago!

The Doobies absolutely killed it on this Motown classic! Loved seeing Tom talking s... to the audience at the end of the song; my man was fired up!
My ass would be scooting all over the floor .

My favorite by them of all time! I had a friend Mike Katz from Missouri who knew everything by them and played by ear.
I've always loved this song and the guitar solo halfway through
One of those great Doobie Brothers songs that you KNOW from the opening! You never forget a song like this!!!
This was a favorite in Philadelphia.

my most favorite Doobie Brothers' song!
Man, does this great Doobie tune take me back. It does not get any better.
America's Rock Band! Still great nearly 50 years later. Tom's voice is outstanding. Finally and deservedly the R&R Hall of Fame.
RnRHoF is bogus. They should have inducted the Doobs in 83. Since they inducted rap and lesser bands, the hall has no criteria and credibility. For example: How cold the cure be relevant? However, the Doobs remind us of the great bands people love.

True musicians, not like the crap they have today....no autotune, or tune-stepping
I love it!!! This is why people always wanted me to sing anything from the Doobies because I sound just like Tommy Johnston.I practiced his style to duplicate it and love singing "Take Me In Your Arms",Listen To The Music" and "China Grove".I still like watching Tommy,he's the master singer.
we are all Doobie brothers and sisters ...
If this doesn't get you motivated, you're dead inside!

What a great band! We love you!!!!

Amazing song! Elected into the RRHOF today 1/15/20. My favorite band of all time! Congats BOYS!!!!!!!
One of the greatest American Bands. The RnRHoF should have inducted them in 83. Since they inducted lesser bands and rap, the hall does not have criteria or credibility. The Hall is therefore Bogus. but.....the Doobies are for REAL!

Excellent song!
Back in FM radio this got minimal air play, and was still great! Compared to all other great bands playing new material on the same FM airwaves.

My all time favorite of the Doobs!

I just love that rocker! But Sherlock Holmes says: there´s more voices audible than singers to be seen. But anyway: that´s red hot!
Fantastic vocal! Tommy's the best! Patrick did a great job on Jeff Baxter's solo too!
Skunk was not there!
@@toddfowler4017 Right, that's why Patrick played the solo...
@@Henrys1ups 👌
Kick ass bass by Skylark
Love the Doobies.
