    As the many testimonials those were using truck claws had those with a 1990 ish GMC Yukon find out without the claws even in 4WD wouldn't budge a travel trailer turned ice shack as with the claws in place on the rear wheels as using the claws as a lever they were able to move the travel trailer turned ice shack. Another customer had moved a building through the snow.

    A lot of these folks are using them incorrectly. They are putting them on and just gunning it. You have to roll slow and let the claw pick the tire up. Put a board in front of the tire for the thing to grab on if need be. Otherwise you run the risk of it just digging you in deeper.

    This is funny, because it is basically what the Soviets would do with their tanks. Ever wonder why you would see logs tied on T-54's or other Soviet era tanks? They would pull off the log and tie them to the tracks and pull the tank out of the mud, if they ever got stuck. But hey, if you can capitalize on it and sell, go for it.

      I have used these and a different type called trac-grabbers and honestly
      they just help bury you up to the frame. The best thing for sand would be tire ladders which is what I use now.

    so in the first example, what happens if using the truck claws causes you to snap an axel or drive shaft?

    • @hercavotica
      @hercavotica 6 лет назад +2

      common sense.
      if you are hauling something heavy and got stuck due to the sheer weight, the truck claw would definitely break something.

      Don't start off spinning the tires especially if using the extenders. Also, in the very first vid with the flatbed the guy made the mistake of not fully closing/locking the binder handle. When he's using the log you can see it fly open and smash against the log almost certainly bending the handle. Also, especially if using the extenders, make sure you have enough wheel well fender clearance if driving out in rough terrain. I've successfully used these in sand with extenders.

      Most factory axles and driveshafts are strong enough for this type of situation, even with a trailer.
