You did this and Time to Make History justice, don't worry! I love how most of the song has a heavy metal tone while the chorus has a lighter, more angelic tone. It's like it gives fulfillment to get to that part because of how good the shift is.

Another great cover! Did you play the two Devil Summoner Raidou Kuzunoha games? The decisive battle from Devil Summoner Raidou Kuzunoha vs King Abaddon Soundtrack would be a great one to cover, but the regular battle themes are great too. Can't go wrong with more Shoji Meguro goodness.

K the lyrics didn't register when I listen to the original but, bro, these lyrics betray the tone of the song lol
I think the difference in tone is heavily done on purpose and it's on theme with the game, there's even a moment in the game where a happy song plays when a really sad moment occurs, you can probably guess what moment that happens. The rain song, heartbeat heartbreak is a pretty sad song, yet it's kinda played at upbeat moments. The lyrics for reach out to the truth could be a reference to how the themes of finding a convenient truth is looming over the plot of the game, where there are many moments where people accept what they want to as the truth, but they're reaching out for the truth, begging for it to end soon. It's more upbeat in my opinion because it's like a song from the perspective of a last stand of some sort and putting up a fight. Like a heroic act of some sort. I might be overthinking this but that's how I see it. Like in P3 burn my dread feels like that, like there is a lot of weight and at stake.
Man i love the original to death,But even i gotta admit that this battle theme SUCKED!
So glad they changed it to Time To Make History in the remake.
