@NumberOneRated97omori is a good game but omori fans constantly making stairs jokes when nobody even brought omori up is why the fanbase has a reputation for being cringe and unfunny
fun fact: The shotgun parry/projectile boost was originally a glitch but when Hakita discovered it he decided that it would be an intended mechanic and even made it give style points.
38:39 I have over 100 hours in Ultrakill but I had no idea you can break the door open by just ground slamming in front of it. You learn something new every day.
- You know how the game told you to "Jump during a dash"? Yeah you REALLY should learn that. Even though you got across there without doing it, this is a really important movement tech that the game won't show you again. - Don't worry about "losing your combo" like in pizza tower, your actual style points don't go down if you take too long. - I think you might want to revisit limbo to find those two secrets in the first two levels. The reward is quite worth it, trust me :) - Generally, punching your own shotgun pellets at close range is a bad idea, because they explode. It's better to use that at longer ranges. The bullet you parry travels straight forward anyway. - When firing normally with the shotgun, hold down fire and tap E rhythmically. You will be firing the shotgun extremely fast.
@@silly_billy-e1i I believe that everyone can and should enjoy Ultrakill any way they want... But please learn dash jumping. It's easy and it's helpful.
Spoiler alert Edit: didn't put enough spoilers so the first line was shown but it's a lore spoiler so who cares V1 is the strongest weapon in the world Also if we talking about strongest in game weapon that whould be the railcannon
@@silly_billy-e1i Well actually the railcannon is a makeshift weapon according to the entry so it's actually weak compared to the other weapons designed for destruction
@@TheRealGam makeshift or not if i were to yeet a whole generator at you it whould be less healthy for you than if i were to just shoot you even tho guns are made for killing and generators arent
just as a fact: the sharpshooter is the newest weapon on ultrakill, so you are actually lucky to experience your first time playing the game with it (i already beated the whole game when it got added)
The bodies you see at 14:09 are an easter egg, they're the oldest models of the Strays and Filth. Also, at 42:22 you accidentally managed to make V2 shoot your coin! They make a special noise when that happens and if you can throw another coin and shoot it before their ricoshot hits you get a special style bonus.
One tip in case you go for P ranks in the future: Tracks in Ultrakill switch between a calm and combat version, depending if enemies are in the room. So if the music still goes hard, youre missing enemies Edit: Lorewise, your character is V1, a machine created for war, which is why you heal instantly through fresh blood. The mutilated bodies in 1-2 are presumably sinners or robots that once wandered limbo long after an event either is somewhere in the enemy entries or comes later.
Seeing that you may be playing this to the fullest (i hope so), here are some quick tips! - Staying in the air or sliding will allow you to gather up more style as you kill enemies. It's also best to swap between each weapon and use them all equally to get the most out of your style. If you use a single weapon too much, it will become "dull" and wont give you as much style. - You know how you slam to the ground? Do that, but jump as soon as you hit the floor to get a higher jump. The higher in the air you slam, the higher you go once you jump. I highly suggest going through this all the way, its an amazing game, _Especially_ once you grasp the mechanics.
I cannot wait to see Merg´s reaction for the following things, it will get so good, really really good. he will also probably get so much better at this game. This will be so freakin´ good. Thanks Merg for starting this game, please do not abandon it but seeing how you enjoy it you will probably not :3. Also please do the game 100% because there is SO MUCH More but no spoilers ;3
You're doing insanely well, especially playing through these levels with little-to-no death! Here's a few things I wanted to mention about the Attractor Nailgun and the Streetcleaner enemies: The flamethrower guys are pretty rough! They like to sidestep and dodge almost everything thrown at them, and have explosion resistance as well. One of the consistently effective ways to deal with them is by using coins! If you toss a coin and shoot it, you'll hit their fuel pack that they have on their back, and kill them instantly. This has alway worked for me, except if the coin doesn't fly far enough to hit their back. The magnets are weirdly explained, but they're pretty neat! When you stick a magnet to an enemy and fire off a bunch of nails, they'll get pulled to the magnet and hit the enemy! So if you manage to stick a magnet into an enemy, you dont have to worry about aiming the nailgun as much! This works for all nails, including the Overheat Nailgun's. You can also fire a whole bunch of nails into a light enemy and stick a magnet to a high wall or ceiling, and it'll cause that enemy to get pulled towards it, making them unable to attack (and I'm 90% sure that this works for streetcleaners too!) Also, both nailguns deal increased amounts of damage to Malicious Faces, but the Attractor Nailgun also deals more damage against most husk enemies.
I know it might seem like busywork, but the terminal entries for each enemy and weapon are actually very useful in figuring out some of the stuff that the game doesn't tell you. For instance, shooting a flamethrower guy in the gas tank instakills them in an explosion, and this is easiest to do with a coin ricoshot.
Loved it when Gabriel from Ultrakill said “shut the FVCK up, I’m not saying a variation of the morbius meme. ” And then proceeded to Ultrakill all over the place
I love how Merg says he thought the object at 1:20 was a mailbox, like that would explain his decision to shoot it. Like, if he knew it was a speaker, he would have left it alone, but since he thought it was a mailbox, *it had to go* . Never change Merg. Keep up the great content.
Unsure whether you'll read this or not, but here goes some info! •The Attractor Nailgun's alt fire shoots magnets, that home in the Nailgun's own shots. This means if you shoot a magnet, your shots from the nailgun will be attracted to where it's placed. This makes it ideal for setting up traps (as enemies that pass through them will be dealt massive damage), or for putting a magnet on an enemy (as the projectiles will home in to them). It also attracts the Overheat Nailgun! •Speaking of the Overheat Nailgun, pay attention to the thing that builds up when you shoot. If you press it too soon after starting to shoot, the burst will be rather short, so I advice to let it fill up, and then hold alt fire until it's empty. Also the burst nails turn enemies into fire! •The Marksmen is a hard gun to use at first, but I encourage it's learning. It's probably the most versatile weapon in the entire arsenal. As a little tip, looking up and shooting as you throw a coin from a neutral angle, is a pretty consistent and easy way to shoot the coin. •Dashes provide invulnerability during their duration. Keep that in mind! Could be... useful for certain weapons. ;). That's about all I have to say. Hope you read this, and I'm so, so glad to see you play a game I hold so dearly, and I'm so happy to know you're enjoying it. Cheers, cherry dude
Alright Merg, since you are still sorta new, here are more tips. 1; You can just shoot 4 coins in the air, and then shoot the gun to guarantee a chain. 2; Coins can be shot with other weapons. 3; Explosions are usually used for navigation by speedrunners, not sure why i brought that up. 4; You can parry the "regular" shotgun's bullets, resulting in a projectile boost and extra style. 5; You can parry the attacks of most bosses. 6; Make sure you're airborne, as that also grants extra style. 7; The music adjusts itself within the count of enemies, so that way you can know if you missed an enemy on the way. 8; Use your navigation more often, you'll really need to catch up with the bar going down. You probably didn't read everything up to this point, I'll make sure to give more tips in the next video.
It's good to remember charging up the sharpshooter doesn't really 'increase the damage' if you don't take advantage of the ricoshetting. It's not really as useful in big open areas if you're not trying to set up shots where the enemy is hit multiple times by the same shot.
I cannot wait for merg to master the "shotgun punch" technique. For those who did not understood the trick:- If you shoot with a shotgun you can immedietly melee hit your bullets to make an explosive bullet. My favorite trick in the game!
When _did_ Merg play this before, anyway? I'm seeing this game for the first time, even though I feel like I've been following his channel closely enough to not miss something new, yet his "Welcome back to..." completely took me off-guard😂
@@junjun8855 You mean, there's another video about this very game from a day earlier? I only see the Pizza Tower speedrun from five days ago before this one
Seeing Merg slowly learn the different tech this game is a blast. You shouldn't worry about the rankings when playing a level for the first time too much, we've all kinda sucked at the game at some point! A small tip for coins: Looking up when throwing a coin makes shooting it a lot easier and allows you to do ricoshots more consistently.
I said it once and I'll say it again. Merg never fails to fascinate me with his god-like commentary. The part where he said "POWWNNMMMN" really shook me. Or the iconic "It's Mergin' time" and everything around him turned into salt.
In just 1 episode he has improved alot with the marksman, once again one of my favourite youtubers playing one of my favourite games is a dream come true
if youre having trouble with a boss you can check their terminal entry, it has gameplay tips for enemies youve encountered, and then beating an enemy unlocks the lore
It's great to see you still playing ULTRAKILL!! Tip: throw a coin into the fountain at the intro of 1-1, the first level of Limbo; a suprise awaits you there :)
0:47 'cause we're gonna once again enter, i guess... *sees limbo* ...hell! Lovely. Also, Merg, if you want to solve the super secret on Limbo, the I slab is at the very end of 1-1, jumping through the glass ceiling in the last room, and the II slab is behind a destructible wall on the lava room of 1-2. I won't say anything else, because I want you to see for yourself if you want to go for it. Thanks for continuing this series!
Hi Merg, I've never actually realized how crazy it is to see our lil cherry play Ultrakill so heres some tips so you can also speedrun this game :) -You can avoid taking damage from the overpumped shotgun by dashing at the same time -You can also parry with your shotgun but only works on melee attacks -You can shoot projectiles with the red revolver's alt fire to intercept them -Coins can split your bullets. When you see it flash, if you shoot it, it basically turns into 2 bullets. It can sometimes split into 4 when you time all the coins Also, your style depends on weapon switching, parrying, and how you kill enemies, so don't worry about having to slam and slide -The Malicious Faces and Cerberuses that appear as common enemies are actually nerfed, so don't worry -You can get a lot of hp from using knuckleblaster on Filth and Strays, It 1 shots them. -You can 2 shot the ones where their head is on their shoulders by using a shotgun pumped 3 times and knuckleblaster Thats all I can give because you can figure out the rest, Its pretty nice returning to a channel I haven't visited in a long time playing a new game I like :D
This makes me happy, and fucking amazed too. When i first fought the hideous mass and especially V2, i took atleast 2 hours to beat those guys. Now that i've come a long way, I can just mindlessly p-rank every level (except for p-2 to which actually challenges my skills) and almost feel like ive reached the peak of what ultrakill can give to me. Just seeing this just makes me emotional on how we all started out overwhelmed with the game first, but slowly but surely, started to inject ultrakill into our veins. Thank you for playing this game.
something to note: many of the challenges require very specific interactions between a weapon you have and the level to complete them some challenges may even have you get a weapon from a future level and then come back to complete the challenge i recommend completing the entire game before even worrying about the challenges and secrets and such edit: also you can change keybinds in the settings to make switching arms easier (or you can change the keybinds to literally everything else)
Merg if you want the maximum damage output from the shotgun you can switch between both the green and blue versions of the shotgun to constantly refresh the cooldown, if you combo this with parrying your own bullets this becomes one of your highest damage outputs!
Hi Merg! Here are some tips in every level in limbo there is a secret panel that you can touch, it unlocks the secret door in the final limbo layer it gives u the slab revolver variant. you will understand later but put the slab variant on piercer and sharpshooter, it will help in the long run to make coins easier to use try to shoot them earlier and rely more on muscle memory rather than plain aiming at them, the hitbox is very forgiving so u dont have to worry about accuracy. coins are also thrown with ur movement, so if ur moving left the coin you throw will go to the left too. the Sharpshooter causes massive explosions if you hit projectiles with them, and if you line up the sharpshooter shot linearly with enemies, its very good for multikills, so try to line up shots more simple. oh, you can punch your shotgun bullets too. in the first 5 frames of firing if you punch, your bullets will go faster and explode on contact it does more damage so it is advised. coins are very special, if you shoot all 4 in the air, they have different sound queues: Few seconds of throwing = normal reflect quick flash + flash sprite is shown = shot and coin reflects ( two shots reflect into two targets) Sing ( after the flash and a small wait, its a droning like sound) = if shot it will reflect into enemies ( will hit more enemies if chained and all are "singing" ONLY WORKS EFFICIENTLY WHEN CHAINED [ throw more than one coin ] ) shotgun swapping is also a thing, if you shoot then swap to another shotgun it will shoot immdiately, you can do this infinitely. and you can shoot each shot too, its massive damage. if you slam on the floor you gain more jump height, BUT IF YOU WANT REAL SPEED wall slide like mario, press slam while doing so, but as soon as you press it jump right after, if its done in a quick succession and is done before you hit the ground you will see "falling particles" that means u did it right, if you jump just as you land you will go super high up, you can also go very fast if you press slide just as you land That is called slam storage, you can also just bhop normally by timing slides and jumps the "burners" or street cleaners can be instakilled with coins if you throw a coin behind them and shoot the coin, it hits them in the gas tank thats on their back, it makes them explode. you can also use the sharpshooter and bounce a shot on a wall to them and it will instakill them pro tip if you throw 4 coins then charge a slab piercer shot fully and shoot them, it does MASSIVE DAMAGE to any tanky miniboss like maurices (malaicious faces) or cerberus. make sure to parry a lot too, lots of things die much quicker if you just parry them, the schisms can be instakilled if you just walk up to them when firing and punch them you dont even need to hit one of their shots just punch them. lots of fun tech to learn in this game. Super excited to see how it goes!
20:25 Ah the classic Ultrakill staple of punching your own bullets to make them do more damage, fun fact this was originally a bug b/c the shotgun pellets shared the same flag as the enemy fireballs but Hakita decided to keep it in and give a style bonus for pulling it off
thank you so much for playing this, i remember watching you like 5 years ago playing undertale and now you are playing one of my favorite games AGAIN. its awesome
Nice to see that you got the main strat to getting used to regularly using the coin: running the hell away and praying those coins hit. Seriously one of your most important weapons in your arsenal, so it's good you're trying to learn how to use your kit as best you can.
Ok. A few tips and things to say. 1. OMG THE FUNNY UNDERTALE MAN IS PLAYING ULTRAKILL WOAH 2. You are like 10 times better than I was when I started lol. 3. Coins are super overpowered and you should definitely try using them more, if you have trouble hitting them, practice in the sandbox level and also an easy way to hit them is to throw the coin and then almost immediately flick your mouse up and then shoot, it's super consistent and basically carried me through bossfights lol. 4. The attractor nailgun (the blue one) shoots the magnets that attract the nails to them, the nails damage enemies and if you attach one to a fast moving enemy that you have trouble hitting, the nails will home in on the enemy making it a lot easier to hit
YESSS IM SO GLAD YOU ARE LIKING ULTRAKILL I REALLY HOPE YOU 100% CAUSE ITS SO WORTH IT, ill probably watch all the vids when they come out since i kinda wanna do a merg playing ultrakill marathon and i dont have time to watch rn but IM SO HYPED
some synergy tips. *switching shotguns is actually a faster way to shoot them. Shoot, then switch and shoot again. Switching the shotgun variant cancels the "reload" animation and lets you shoot as soon as the weapon switch is done. *attractor nailgun does a bit more (per nail) damage than the overheat nailgun. But also the attractor instantly reaches full firing speed when shot, which is how overheat's secondary attack duration is calculated. Shooting the attractor first, then switching to overheat gives you the full overheat charge instantly. I would go deeper (for example, the sharpshooter, spinning it actually effects how fast you drop down. You could spend an entire semester on learning the coin, etc.), but I think that's enough for now. Also, King Midas actually turned the lust layer into an utopian society. But then Gabriel killed Minos and forced his husk to destroy the city.
Here’s a tip: Even if you’re not used to some weapons, you don’t have to use their gimmick, so you’re not used to the attractor’s magnet, but that’s still fine, as you can still just use the regular nails when the overheat nailgun runs out of heat charges to keep your style up, because you’re rewarded with more style points for switching to different weapons. Same thing with the core eject shotgun, you can quickswitch shotguns after you fire with the E key (By default) to override their slow fire rate, not only to fire fast, but make more use out of your more underused weapons for more style. Great video btw, that was pretty good for a first time player
Tip for merg: if you shoot the coin behind the flamethrower people (streetcleaners) they will be insta-killed and will explode, because the coin hits their flamethrower backpack.
Hey merg The attractor works like this It shoots a magnet which attracts the nails (the bullets of the nail minigun) to make a trap However, the magnets can be destroyed by any bullet of any other gun. Also Before most attacks either a blue flash or a yellow flash pops up on the enemy followed by a ding sound Blue flash as the game tells you is an unparriable attack and a yellow one is parriable Some enemies need to be parried up close.
You know what? I may not play fps games but seeing merg play Ultrakill is amazing! Edit : since my comment got popular enough i guess i can recommend a game bc why not. The game is called *Bug fables* and it's a very fun RPG inspired by the two first paper mario games (idk if you played one of them, i didn't bc i was born too late). It has great combat/strategy, great characters, great worlds/lore. I recommend you check it out! (not immediately bc you JUST started Ultrakill). It definitely one of my favorite games of all time. You can play it or not i just want you to at least aknowledge it. Anyways hope you have a good day!

Hey merg, love the fact you started playing ultrakill! As other people have said, I recommend really understanding each weapon. Also, for the shotgun self-parry (projectile boost) I recommend using the blue shotgun, wich makes it easier
Hey Merg, reposting this here beacuse you might need some tips, espescially if you wanna P-Rank on the harder difficulties : this game has crazy mechanics & synergies, and da coin gun is probably one of the best weapons, but its hard to use :) As for some tips, the coin you throw have the same momentum as you had when you threw it, so if you're walking left and throwing a coin, the coin will be thrown left . You can chain coins, the more coins you chain, the harder the redirected shot will hit You can deflect a charged shot from the revolver on a coin, and thus you can coin-chain with a charged shot =) Actually, the overcharge on the green shotgun can be good because as the game said, you cant take damage while dashing You can parry most of the attacks by melee-ing (even melee attacks or boss attacks) You can parry ... your own shotgun shots . (Shooting with a shotgun and punching just after will parry your bullets, accelerate them and make them explosive) You can shoot the core from the core ejector shotgun thingy There might be some tech idk about the crazy red pistol cuz I didn't even know it was in the game You can punch your coins, they will go right into an ennemy's weakpoint, deal damage, bounce and if you shoot it, its damage multiplier will be bigger If an ennemy's charging an attack and you shoot it at the righr timing, it'll explode There are also many movement tips, but I'll pass on these ones for now If a challenge seems impossible, its because this game has MANY tricks (or there might just be a way around it) Style is designated by how much you use different weapons, if you're moving while shooting, or in the air, if you're parrying attacks etc ... This game can be REALLY HARD ... but it is hella fun Musics are bangers Welp, I think that's it for now, you do not have to know everything to even finish the game (for now at least), but it makes the game more fun & fluid IMO. Anyways, I'll try giving more tips on future episodes, see ya mergNice Edit : another trick (I don't even know if it is a usebug or nah) is that you can shotgun swap, which means shooting with a shotgun, swapping to the othe variantr and you should be able to shoot again, that way you shkip the reloading animation
The ONLY thing that i didnt like playing this was your assumption v2 was like, made by the devil or something, and you were sent by heaven, the assumption heaven and you are on good terms is gonna die real fast. Other than that its a great video as always, and even then its only a very minor issue that doesn't matter in the long run. I hope you will enjoy this game a lot!
The number of times i've seen people play this game for the first time and find out you can punch your own shotgun pellets, and get amazed by it, will never fail to amaze me. It's so fun seeing them unlock new tech
tips of the day: -if you dash right before you explode your pump shotgun, you will negate the damage and create that explosion. extremely good in crowds -try to use your blue revolver - swap to it and use the blue beam, then swap back to whatever you want for a good damage burst -the way you are using the shotgun is good - high hp enemies use the 2x pump. projectile boost (parry your shotgun) can also be good for that in a distance, and will also be good in crowds. keep doing what you are doing! -the green revolver ( the one where you shoot the coin ) will always launch the same trajectory. you can learn the trajectory in sandbox and you’ll can hit it 100% of the time - if you practise a bit of course. one thing to note is that it carries your momentum, so if you walk backward the coin will shoot backwards, if you jump and shoot it up, it will go very high, if you walk forward the coin will travel further. -there is a technique called shotgun swapping, where if you shoot one shotgun and switch to the other, you will shoot skip the reload animation and shoot both of them extremely quickly for insane damage. you can keep swapping, I recommend you do it on the malicious faces -red arm will be very useful paired the shotgun for huge damage close range - especially against the faces
So, couple things to help you out: -The attractor Nailgun is primarily used to set traps. Enemies for the most part in this game are pretty dumb, so a lot of the time you can just shoot a magnet on the ground, fire at it with the nailgun until a bunch of them are circling it, and lure enemies into stepping on it so they get hit with all the nails. You can also stick it into enemies so big targets like Malicious Face and Cerberus are easy to hit with them. The Magnet also attracts shots from the Overheat Nailgun, even from it's burst attack. So you can have two full sets of nails circling a magnet and anything that steps on it gets shredded. -Coins can be deflected with ANY revolver variant. If you time the shot right, the coin will actually split into two projectiles. You want to try to hit it basically right as it flashes. However, if you miss the first time, it actually has a second "splitting" window when it begins whistling as it falls. -Your combo will quickly go stale if you stick to the same weapon too much. Rapidly switching weapons during a fight will keep your combo going high. -You can actually fire shotguns *Very* quickly with a technique called "Shotgun swapping." It's as easy as it sounds. After firing a shot, quickly tap the E key to cycle to the next shotgun variant, and fire again. Repeat. Basically what happens is when you swap Shotgun variants, the "reload" animation is canceled and you can attack much quicker. Useful for shredding bosses up close. -You can also parry with shotguns by shooting an enemy in the chest right as they're about to attack. It's a bit tricky to pull off, with slightly tighter timing than a regular parry, but it will deal damage *AND* parry at the same time in most cases, which is always useful. -The Core Eject shotgun's "grenade" can be shot with a hitscan weapon to destroy it midair. This increases the explosion. -You can avoid damaging yourself with the Pump Charge Shotgun by dashing right before you fire an overcharged shot. The explosion will still occur, but thanks to I-frames, you should come out unscathed.
A couple tips regarding the nailgun, mainly for the blue one since that's the one that seems to be giving you trouble The magnets have 2 main uses: Aim assist and traps Aim assist is obvious, you can stick magnets into enemies, and since magnets attract nails, they make aim more forgiving (assuming you manage to stick the magnet into the enemy) The traps are a bit less obvious but still simple, shooting nails at a magnet stuck into the ground makes the nails stick to the magnet, they still deal damage tho, so you can make damage zones that hurt enemies when they walk through them (tho there's something """slightly""" better at making traps much further in the game, but i shall say no more than that :) ) Also, when shooting the green nailgun, you can see a little orange bar build up, that bar determines how strong the secondary fire is Sorry for so much text, i just love this game, and i love the nailgun too so i felt obligated to type this >.< Anyway, hope you enjoy the rest of the game, there is still so much more to it :D
The first of ultrakill video sadly unavailable. Wait I am feel sad by saying only that, so there's goes anywhere things on my mind. I love Merg so much. Like really He introduced to me into so nice games and universes. It all started of course by undertale, seeing games you playing for now like is a tip for me which game is a good and must be given a try, So have I, first completed the game I noticed, which merg starts playing, then watch his gameplay and still enjoying it. First were undertale fun games, then hollow knight(222.2 hours on steam, oh boy, still watched play through), FNF(like oh my god can't remember how much fun games I completed), OMORI.(60 hours, still crying with finale song, kel ate burger). And now we're swapping places now. Ultrakill is already completed by myself with every corner in game(also never read books in game, 80 hours). This game is dopamine factor. It's NEEDED to be completed (I mean I'm waiting silksong so long could wait whatever time it takes, you can do whatever you want, spare your time). Hope you notice the music, like you did in undertale fun games or fnf, tracks are banger. Two more things. Deep rock galactic is also a nice game, and maybe you give it a try. And like always keep yourself safe, be nice, and etc.
Quick thing- the little “ding” you hear doesn’t mean that you killed all the enemies. It just means that one of your weapons recharged (spinny revolver shot, coin, etc.). A better way to tell if you killed all the enemies is by listening to the music. If the music dies down, then you killed all the enemies.
Today I lost half a year of progress in ultrakill so seeing a new merg ultrakill video made my day a little bit better btw a quick tip for the coin if u look up and shoot the coin it is extremly ez to hit it instantly

just as a fact: the sharpshooter is the newest weapon on ultrakill, so you are actually lucky to experience your first time playing the game with it (i already beated the whole game when it got added)
In that case I'm hyped for the future additions
@@Merg 🍝
The bodies you see at 14:09 are an easter egg, they're the oldest models of the Strays and Filth.
Also, at 42:22 you accidentally managed to make V2 shoot your coin! They make a special noise when that happens and if you can throw another coin and shoot it before their ricoshot hits you get a special style bonus.
One tip in case you go for P ranks in the future: Tracks in Ultrakill switch between a calm and combat version, depending if enemies are in the room. So if the music still goes hard, youre missing enemies
Edit: Lorewise, your character is V1, a machine created for war, which is why you heal instantly through fresh blood. The mutilated bodies in 1-2 are presumably sinners or robots that once wandered limbo long after an event either is somewhere in the enemy entries or comes later.
I don't really think he should go for p ranks in this game, they're not as satisfying as in pizza tower, and it is harder.

I highly suggest going through this all the way, its an amazing game, _Especially_ once you grasp the mechanics.
as someone with 120h in this game
you should P rank the game
Projectile Parrying and Parrying Is gonna save him big time

@Epic Game Gamer psst no spoilers...
Can't wait for him to see Minos
he's gonna love the secret levels and is gonna HATE 4-4
You're doing insanely well, especially playing through these levels with little-to-no death! Here's a few things I wanted to mention about the Attractor Nailgun and the Streetcleaner enemies:
The flamethrower guys are pretty rough!
You can also fire a whole bunch of nails into a light enemy and stick a magnet to a high wall or ceiling, and it'll cause that enemy to get pulled towards it, making them unable to attack (and I'm 90% sure that this works for streetcleaners too!)
Also, both nailguns deal increased amounts of damage to Malicious Faces, but the Attractor Nailgun also deals more damage against most husk enemies.
Seeing Merg play Ultrakill is not something I expected :D
The comment specifically designed to attract attention
copy paste comment
Neither did I... but in retrospect, it *was* the logical continuation after pizza tower and would happen eventually.
I know it might seem like busywork, but the terminal entries for each enemy and weapon are actually very useful in figuring out some of the stuff that the game doesn't tell you. For instance, shooting a flamethrower guy in the gas tank instakills them in an explosion, and this is easiest to do with a coin ricoshot.
fav part about the streetcleaner that even after killing them you can still shoot the gas tank from their corpse and still cause the explosion

That you will receive
(As a heads-up, yes! I know there's more stuff Merg could learn. But please! Don't just spoil everything to him.)
You can parry both current shotgun variants not just the default one and merg did shotgun parry in the video.
And most of all, use the piercer god darn it
why didn’t u mention instakilling flamethrowers ;-;
I cannot wait for merg to master the "shotgun punch" technique.
For those who did not understood the trick:- If you shoot with a shotgun you can immedietly melee hit your bullets to make an explosive bullet.

Hi Merg, I've never actually realized how crazy it is to see our lil cherry play Ultrakill so heres some tips so you can also speedrun this game :)
-You can avoid taking damage from the overpumped shotgun by dashing at the same time
-You can also parry with your shotgun but only works on melee attacks
-You can shoot projectiles with the red revolver's alt fire to intercept them
-Coins can split your bullets. When you see it flash, if you shoot it, it basically turns into 2 bullets. It can sometimes split into 4 when you time all the coins
Also, your style depends on weapon switching, parrying, and how you kill enemies, so don't worry about having to slam and slide
-The Malicious Faces and Cerberuses that appear as common enemies are actually nerfed, so don't worry
-You can get a lot of hp from using knuckleblaster on Filth and Strays, It 1 shots them.
-You can 2 shot the ones where their head is on their shoulders by using a shotgun pumped 3 times and knuckleblaster
Thats all I can give because you can figure out the rest, Its pretty nice returning to a channel I haven't visited in a long time playing a new game I like :D
This makes me happy, and fucking amazed too. When i first fought the hideous mass and especially V2, i took atleast 2 hours to beat those guys.

GOD,I JUST REALIZED
something to note:
many of the challenges require very specific interactions between a weapon you have and the level to complete them
some challenges may even have you get a weapon from a future level and then come back to complete the challenge

also you can change keybinds in the settings to make switching arms easier
(or you can change the keybinds to literally everything else)
The title is the most BADASS thing i've heard Merg say.
Or read, actually.
I love the part where Merg said "its ultrakill time" and ultrakilled all over the place
Merg if you want the maximum damage output from the shotgun you can switch between both the green and blue versions of the shotgun to constantly refresh the cooldown, if you combo this with parrying your own bullets this becomes one of your highest damage outputs!
Hi Merg!
Here are some tips
in every level in limbo there is a secret panel that you can touch, it unlocks the secret door in the final limbo layer
it gives u the slab revolver variant.
you will understand later but put the slab variant on piercer and sharpshooter, it will help in the long run
to make coins easier to use try to shoot them earlier and rely more on muscle memory rather than plain aiming at them, the hitbox is very forgiving
so u dont have to worry about accuracy.
coins are also thrown with ur movement, so if ur moving left the coin you throw will go to the left too.
the Sharpshooter causes massive explosions if you hit projectiles with them, and if you line up the sharpshooter shot linearly with enemies, its very good for multikills, so
try to line up shots more simple.
oh, you can punch your shotgun bullets too. in the first 5 frames of firing if you punch, your bullets will go faster and explode on contact
it does more damage so it is advised.
coins are very special, if you shoot all 4 in the air, they have different sound queues:
Few seconds of throwing = normal reflect
quick flash + flash sprite is shown = shot and coin reflects ( two shots reflect into two targets)
Sing ( after the flash and a small wait, its a droning like sound) = if shot it will reflect into enemies ( will hit more enemies if chained and all are "singing"
ONLY WORKS EFFICIENTLY WHEN CHAINED [ throw more than one coin ] )
shotgun swapping is also a thing, if you shoot then swap to another shotgun it will shoot immdiately, you can do this infinitely.
and you can shoot each shot too, its massive damage.
if you slam on the floor you gain more jump height,
BUT IF YOU WANT REAL SPEED
wall slide like mario, press slam while doing so, but as soon as you press it jump right after, if its done in a quick succession and is done before you hit the ground
you will see "falling particles" that means u did it right, if you jump just as you land you will go super high up, you can also go very fast if you press slide just as you land
That is called slam storage, you can also just bhop normally by timing slides and jumps
the "burners" or street cleaners can be instakilled with coins
if you throw a coin behind them and shoot the coin, it hits them in the gas tank thats on their back, it makes them explode.
you can also use the sharpshooter and bounce a shot on a wall to them and it will instakill them
pro tip if you throw 4 coins then charge a slab piercer shot fully and shoot them, it does MASSIVE DAMAGE to any tanky miniboss like maurices (malaicious faces)
or cerberus.
make sure to parry a lot too, lots of things die much quicker if you just parry them, the schisms can be instakilled if you just walk up to them when firing and punch them
you dont even need to hit one of their shots just punch them.
lots of fun tech to learn in this game.

This might just be my favorite title to this date lol! Happy to hear you're enjoying it too!
my brain seeing headless skeleton: "PUT A SKULL ON IT"
some synergy tips.
Excited to see your reactions to other stuff in the game!
More is coming!
Merg congrats on 1million, I've been here since 10k and you are one of my favorite youtubers.👍
I guess you could say ULTRAKILL is ULTRASICK, cool video by the way
Here’s a tip: Even if you’re not used to some weapons, you don’t have to use their gimmick, so you’re not used to the attractor’s magnet, but that’s still fine, as you can still just use the regular nails when the overheat nailgun runs out of heat charges to keep your style up, because you’re rewarded with more style points for switching to different weapons. Same thing with the core eject shotgun, you can quickswitch shotguns after you fire with the E key (By default) to override their slow fire rate, not only to fire fast, but make more use out of your more underused weapons for more style.
Great video btw, that was pretty good for a first time player

Tip for merg: if you shoot the coin behind the flamethrower people (streetcleaners) they will be insta-killed and will explode, because the coin hits their flamethrower backpack.
maaan why he so adorable playing this game dawg 😩😭
Hey merg
The attractor works like this
It shoots a magnet which attracts the nails (the bullets of the nail minigun) to make a trap
However, the magnets can be destroyed by any bullet of any other gun.
Also
Before most attacks either a blue flash or a yellow flash pops up on the enemy followed by a ding sound
Blue flash as the game tells you is an unparriable attack and a yellow one is parriable
Some enemies need to be parried up close.

Ayo nice that you get to play this game man its fast paced and has cool shooting animations lol
Hey merg, love the fact you started playing ultrakill! As other people have said, I recommend really understanding each weapon. Also, for the shotgun self-parry (projectile boost) I recommend using the blue shotgun, wich makes it easier
Hey Merg, reposting this here beacuse you might need some tips, espescially if you wanna P-Rank on the harder difficulties :
this game has crazy mechanics & synergies, and da coin gun is probably one of the best weapons, but its hard to use :)
As for some tips, the coin you throw have the same momentum as you had when you threw it, so if you're walking left and throwing a coin, the coin will be thrown left .
You can chain coins, the more coins you chain, the harder the redirected shot will hit
You can deflect a charged shot from the revolver on a coin, and thus you can coin-chain with a charged shot =)
Actually, the overcharge on the green shotgun can be good because as the game said, you cant take damage while dashing
You can parry most of the attacks by melee-ing (even melee attacks or boss attacks)
You can parry ... your own shotgun shots . (Shooting with a shotgun and punching just after will parry your bullets, accelerate them and make them explosive)
You can shoot the core from the core ejector shotgun thingy
There might be some tech idk about the crazy red pistol cuz I didn't even know it was in the game
You can punch your coins, they will go right into an ennemy's weakpoint, deal damage, bounce and if you shoot it, its damage multiplier will be bigger
If an ennemy's charging an attack and you shoot it at the righr timing, it'll explode
There are also many movement tips, but I'll pass on these ones for now
If a challenge seems impossible, its because this game has MANY tricks (or there might just be a way around it)
Style is designated by how much you use different weapons, if you're moving while shooting, or in the air, if you're parrying attacks etc ...
This game can be REALLY HARD ... but it is hella fun
Musics are bangers
Welp, I think that's it for now, you do not have to know everything to even finish the game (for now at least), but it makes the game more fun & fluid IMO.
Anyways, I'll try giving more tips on future episodes, see ya mergNice
Edit : another trick (I don't even know if it is a usebug or nah) is that you can shotgun swap, which means shooting with a shotgun, swapping to the othe variantr and you should be able to shoot again, that way you shkip the reloading animation
It's so fun seeing them unlock new tech
tips of the day:
-if you dash right before you explode your pump shotgun, you will negate the damage and create that explosion. extremely good in crowds
-try to use your blue revolver - swap to it and use the blue beam, then swap back to whatever you want for a good damage burst
-the way you are using the shotgun is good - high hp enemies use the 2x pump. projectile boost (parry your shotgun) can also be good for that in a distance, and will also be good in crowds. keep doing what you are doing!
-there is a technique called shotgun swapping, where if you shoot one shotgun and switch to the other, you will shoot skip the reload animation and shoot both of them extremely quickly for insane damage. you can keep swapping, I recommend you do it on the malicious faces
-red arm will be very useful paired the shotgun for huge damage close range - especially against the faces
I love the part were he said "I am going to ultra kill you"
HELL YEAH! This was not was I expecting, but I sure am exited for it!
mwahahaa he has fallen into our trap
i love how at some point in the vid hes just completely mowing down enemies with peaceful, calm music in the background.
The more you play the more better you get being able to make split options in near seconds
So, couple things to help you out:
-The attractor Nailgun is primarily used to set traps.
A couple tips regarding the nailgun, mainly for the blue one since that's the one that seems to be giving you trouble
The magnets have 2 main uses: Aim assist and traps
Aim assist is obvious, you can stick magnets into enemies, and since magnets attract nails, they make aim more forgiving (assuming you manage to stick the magnet into the enemy)
The traps are a bit less obvious but still simple, shooting nails at a magnet stuck into the ground makes the nails stick to the magnet, they still deal damage tho, so you can make damage zones that hurt enemies when they walk through them (tho there's something """slightly""" better at making traps much further in the game, but i shall say no more than that :) )
Also, when shooting the green nailgun, you can see a little orange bar build up, that bar determines how strong the secondary fire is
Sorry for so much text, i just love this game, and i love the nailgun too so i felt obligated to type this >.<
Anyway, hope you enjoy the rest of the game, there is still so much more to it :D
I played through the whole game yesterday after seeing your first video, highly recommend
I’m excited for Merg to do an entire video on the secrets/secret levels
2-S 💀
5-S 🐟
Your improvement is AMAZING omg!
Absolutely love the ultrakill videos, keep em coming
I like how merg is already better than under the mayo
Looks epic already
ULTRAKILL is probably my favorite game of all time. I'm really glad and happy merg decided to turn this into a series.
Try combining both nailguns so u can use the attractor thing and then use the overheat to hit all your shot on a target
Today I lost half a year of progress in ultrakill so seeing a new merg ultrakill video made my day a little bit better
btw a quick tip for the coin if u look up and shoot the coin it is extremly ez to hit it instantly
Unfortunately this fandom is intense about this game. You wont know or learn everything on your first play through, at least without wiki or stuff.
Play your way. Dont worry about time.
this one i say is just as good or even better then the last one you truly are a god of youtube
28:33 yup alright
That style meter is SSSaucy for a new time player
