You hit the nail on the head with this video. Casio really should just take the leap and make standard squares and MIP squares. Have a standard battery one similar to the E model square and a solar/MIP square that's a little bit pricier like they already do. That would truly sell. Then do a metal line in the future
I’m actually ok with just a battery model so long as it lasts for years. Yes just MIP Please.
@@DesignAtelier I agree but that is called bussines. Who says that it won’t be a release soon with MIP? They also said that for now they want for square to stay original as it can be (after all it is the first G concept) and that’s why they have hundreds of other models. As for smart options I think they are unnecessary in every watch. Inaccurate HR, step counter that does what, tracking that you can have on your phone, a lot of information which serve no purpose for me personally. But the trend is here so we should step into a wagon like everyone. HR squre will be on my wrist 😉
I think they are releasing upgrades one by one to sell more models, for the future of their business.
"Watch collecting is men's fashion infused with impractical sentiments." That is a hard truth!
Yup. I’m guilty of it too. But we must take the good with the bad.
And a big bottle of snobbery
At the end of the day, I'm just glad I'm not into collecting cars 😂
I got a GBD200 for the MIP display and its legibility is really great. Nonetheless, after a couple of days of wearing it, I keep on going back to my 5610. It is much more confortable sizewise, it is solar and always spot on time by itself with multiband 6 without having to connect it to my phone. I already fell for the GBD200 - this time I will wait (if i can..)
Was on the fence about getting this one but that last point convinced me I should just wait. It might take them another year but I think they'll give us what we want. Great video 👍
I’m glad that the video helped!
Love your channel 😇
I usually have 10 G-Shock, including the master of G and Apple Watches many series . I sold all of them. I have only 1 watch and use it all day and night. It’s Garmin Instinct 2 (Tactical) and I am looking forward to upgrading to the Instinct 2X model soon.
Garmin has taken Dave to the dark side. Let bring G-Shock back into his life.
Bought this tonight and can not get it to pair.
Won’t show up in the Casio Watch app or in Bluetooth.
Any suggestions?
Thanks for another awesome video as you've listed many valid points, especially size as the GShocks I own wear rather large on my girly wrists and for the price I could always go for a trusted Garmin but then again I want a square and this range ticks many boxes. Great content!
We who have small wrist are always gshock cautionary tales but I’m still on the fence for Garmin.
@@DesignAtelier I've owned a Garmin and Suunto fitness watch before and they're perfect for exercise but not really daily wear so I'm eager to see how it looks once it becomes available as the promotional footage can be deceiving. 👍
I dont know how to feel about this one. I went to a shock because I was obsessing over my last nitness tracker. Funny enough I got a case and downloaded a watch face to resemble a shock square. But I noticed I was going craazy tracking every step and innaccurately estimated calorie burned. Love the idea, not sure if I want to step back into a tracker. wish they could just give the 5000u a MIP
Well you can always use it in time only mode.
Amazing video! Love the quality work
Thanks a ton!
Is Casio watch able to back sync number of steps from Casio Watch app to display steps from all Casio watches or is the sync one way only (from watch to Casio app but no steps are sync from app to watch)?
The GBX-100 is a square with a MIP display, I love mine and wear it all the time
I’m in a bit of a different camp than hardcore G-shock fans. I’ve always wanted a g-shock square, but knew I wouldn’t wear it outside of exercise or physical chores around the house. Having a basic HRM/fitness tracker is the thing that finally gets me over the hump to buy one.
Great comment. This is proof that Casio is still attracting new audiences with its marketing strategy.
It's the same situaton for me, also. I've had the GW-B5600 for 4 years and absolute love it, for what it is, no nonsense self adjusting solar watch with basic Bluetooth options. But when I would go running, hiking, working out, I used Mi Band5 fitness band for tracking hartbeat, and recording trails, using smartphones GPS ofcourse. So this kind of watch that will blend those two, that will suit all my needs, plus MIP display (which is a huge plus) is a win for me. Ofcourse I could buy more capable, true smartwatch like Garmin Instict 2 (which kicks ass with its capabilities), but I wanted to still wear a Gshock in day-to-day use, so that's the proof this kind of product will still attract HC fans.
Similar situation for me, I’ve always wanted a solar square with a HRM and am so glad we finally got it
Do you have any recommendation for outdoor biking for less than $300?
Totally agree and seriously want one and would use some of the smart features and don't mind the size increase but ultimately do not want to have to charge it so will wait for a more basic tough solar version!
Yes sir! Can’t wait for mine.
@Design Atelier so looking forward too that review buddy! 😁👍
Thanks for the detailed info about DW-H 5600. I just want to track my sleep and want to check the moon phase. Can you please suggest any best watch in Garmin for sleep tracking and moon phase?
Garmin Instinct 2 is great for sleep tracking. The sleep scores are great and you can get so many details. Also the body battery is a great feature to show who good you rested. It also has widgets for moon phase with all the details. I can highly recommand the Instinct. As an (ex) g-shock fan I am in love with the Instinct now
what do you think abut this watch as heart rate monitor? i do not need a smart watch , i need a watch that is good for monitoring the heart rate. all the others functions of a garmin watrch are not important for me!thank you
Totally agree with all your points. As a long time gshock fan, i.e. wearer not collector, i recently switched to garmin Instinct 2x and totally fell in love with that watch. If it now proofs itself as durable as my gshock i will never go back to casio.
Agree! Nice review!
As always great content. Right on point, I would buy it if it only has an MIP display. The rest of the features (fitness) I can do without. Will they make a full metal version? BTW you're not wearing a watch on this video, why?
I made a concept of that on my earlier video which has seen been taken down. Ill make a new render in the next video.
@@DesignAtelier nice!
The Garman EPIX, pro two, and the Apple Watch ultra two have just jumped into the collectible game also with older, older Nike edition bands, and Hermes watches
i'm looking into smart watches that can do some fitness tracking. was looking at the galaxy watch and the Watch SE, but now this is released. i'm just waiting for this year galaxy watch to be released and reviewed before deciding which of these to get. The garmin simply priced out from the list here
I was so hyped for this, but you really hit the nail on thr head with this video. I'll see you in 30 years when casio finally gives us what we want.
I’m still hyped to be honest. Even though it will cost me 300$
@@DesignAtelier yup, it's still a big step that Casio made, so there's definitely hope that they'll improve on this. For now I'll just admire it from your videos lol
@@j_crust4582 haha. Hopeful to snag one early so I can bring more content.
Any idea whether the buttons on this are like on the new metal squares or more akin to the original squares? That's hugely important for usability.
I cannot say that until I press them myself. Visually it looks identical to both.
Excellent points Jayson. I'm not a smart watch guy at all. The thing I like about my GBD 200 is that it's toned down somewhat compared to most true smartwatches. I don't neet a built in rice cooker and flare gun. I don't use many of the features as it is. I just wanted an MIP panel and I like the size of the watch as well. There are still a couple of Negative LCD models that are really decent such as the GD350-1B. One of my favorite models. I like the look of the H5600 but I'm patient enough to see what else comes along.
Spoken like a true gshock fan right here. Haha now I want a rice cooker gshock! I might render that.
@@DesignAtelier 🤣
Why was your previous video taken down? It was quite informative. As for the new G-shock, I’m not sure about Casio going down the charging route. Surely it goes against one of the watch’s ethos of a long battery life?
One of the clip’s owners filed a copyright strike. I know it falls in fair use but I’m not going to risk my channel for a hundred bucks. I’m happy viewers like you love the channel and I’d be more than happy to keep making videos. And yes please better battery life and less charging.
@@DesignAtelier oh no, it's a minefield. I was happy you featured one of my clips in that video and gave credit. Really good editing work on your channel BTW.
@@wristaction thanks. Yes it’s really not enough to simply mention or give credit. I’m confident that I did merely a journalistic view of the matter and the clip just happens to be the appropriate imagery for the commentary. However Ill leave it like that so I can focus on content.
Love your review and 100% agreed with all the points mentioned! However, I am the odd one here... this is the exact watch I am looking for. I just want a "fitness tracker" without allllll the bells and whistles ( like Garmin etc ) I just want a simple HR that can be on all the time to track my HR... Dont care about battery life. I will only wear the DWh5600 on weekends to check my HR at a glance. Whoops is good but dont want to pay the monthly $ as I am not elite athlete. All i want is HR at a glance when I want to and the watch looks good on my wrist. Love your channel!!
Casio hit a home run on this one for you.
@@DesignAtelier Indeed... this is the one for me! I did have the GBD-H1000 but did not find it useful for me and TBH... the design was ok. But this DW-h5600...iconic design and always on HR... BAM!!! 🙂
I'm torn between this or a GBD-H2000. The square is nice but the pushers have always let me down/ I don't find them easy to actuate. I'm also digging the new style of the H2000.
Ask yourself how many times you’re going to push. If it’s more than once a day choose the H2000
Very pleasant to hear the hard truth in a watch review. Much better than all the usual hype reviews on youtube!
Ironically I’m one of those hype channels when it comes to gshock. But hey glad you’re on board.
Finally got mine.
I successfully paired it to my Mini 13 but I am unable to proceed with the Software Update.
I can't connect it to Strava as well.
OMG!!!!
Tough solar right? So does that work?
Exactly! Very good points!
I subscribed because I appreciated that after your first video where you were excited, you took the time and put effort to make this second review. I made a negative comment there that I found it expensive. Although I support Casio, as a consumer I want to get the best out of them. They can do better.
I will not buy it cause I have the Gbd-200 which I like better due to the bigger screen. I am looking forward to get a better watch/fittracker model by Casio at the body of a gbd-200, and then I will buy two of them!
Oh yeah I’m still excited to get this one but I must really take an honest look at how unreasonable it could be. But hey I’ve bought more expensive unreasonable watches before.
Very well put sir! I’m a heavy user of GPS activity trackers but the smart watch format isn’t that useful for me. I will definitely buy one but rather as a supplement to my bike computer and my phone.
I feel many are in the same philosophy as you. I was a heavy smart watch user but I grew tired and gradually went back to my old watch wearing habits. My phone is enough of a screen for my life already. Fitness tracking and gps works for me instead.
One of my main issues with the regular 5600 are the tiny, recessed pushers. GBD-200 pushers are much, much better. H5600 has hard to operate pushers, tech I don't really need and is bigger than the GBD-200.
Good point. Yes thats the common complaint for the squares. I need to experience the GBD200s.
have the GBD 200 and I'm thinking of buying this one. Do you recommend it?
I tried both in the shop. GBD200 screen looks dull when compared side by side. Also it looks much cheaper.
I also thought about using the Garmin Tactic 2 atau 2s as a casual, outdoor or fitness sports watch
It’s the better option feature-wise.
Some good points made... I must admit, the tracking and heart rate monitor + charging is something I don't really want but I suppose it might be nice to check out but I am thinking... Am still really wanting to see the MR-G Frog.
Yeah sadly no news yet on the new frogs. I’ll break the scoop if theres any. How awesome would it be if there was an MIP, MRG frogman.
@@DesignAtelier MIP Frog would of course be great but I wonder if it is more like adding Bluetooth to GWF-D1000... we can live in hope.
@@masterwatch yes hope we shall. I don’t see why they have to tie the MIP display on these fitness modules at all.
This year I bough my first 2 G-Shock watches and the reason in both cases being exceptionally legible MIP displays and overall beautiful designs. As a teenager I always wanted to own a G-Shock but could not afford one and as a daily watch I chose a smaller casio watch that better fit my rather small 6.5 inch wrist. The dream came back to live though when I saw the beautiful blue GBD-200-2ER. Right after this one I also got equally pretty white GBX-100-7JF. Both have the new generation MIP displays and reasonable battery life considering you don't have to charge them like normal smartwatches which I've never been a fan of. I believe G-Shock crossed that line here and I will definitely not buy the DW-H5600 for sure as I already got more than I ever wanted with the 2 models I mentioned earlier. I'm also kind of worried that G-Shock will try and compete with Apple by putting in more and more smart features in the upcoming years which makes GBD-200 and GBX-100 the only reasonable options for G-Shock MIP fans like me.
I shouldn’t be worried about G-Shock competing against the Apple Watch. The people who are looking to buy G-shocks will primarily buy them for durability and apple is yet to even touch that. My wife shattered her sapphire Apple Watch with a single half a meter drop. And not to mention that the app possibilities wear out quite easily on top of the constant notifications. All those are working against the Apple Watch and in favor of G-shocks. I think the barrier for gshock is more on the pricing. So long as they keep it simple and affordable they should fine for the next decade.
After buying a dozen of gshocks, I have finally settled for a gsteel gst b500, wearing it daily since launch last year ❤
Its a gshock, its analog, its tough solar and its beautiful 😍
I need one of those g steels for sure. I’m hearing grey things about them.
@@DesignAtelier so many compliments i get. And the best part is its so light and fits my medium wrist perfectly. Must buy !!
Ohhh..I was expecting so much for this, waiting for it's release to see if I would buy this or the garmin instinct 2, looks like I'll be choosing the latter 😓
I’m probably going to get the instinct 2 later as well.
I agree... they have a long way to go to catch up the competition.... a very loooooong way!
I actually appreciate that Casio listened to the customers and gave us the GBX and the GBD. MIP display in the square shape. The GBX became 1 of my favorite watches, I love the feature set (very useful for me) and the look
But I wouldn't mind if the screen was LCD. The MIP display looks great but the battery life is the downside. If they made the GBX with a LCD display just with big numbers and/or positive display I would still like it just as much. And since I don't care for Bluetooth, I'd appreciate the longer battery life
That mrg frogman + this smashed together with the triple sensors and temp would be so awesome.
That would be cool!
Actually I want the h5600 to replace my Apple Watch which is my primary fitness watch. I think for light fitness like jogging would be hard to beat comparing due to its weight but when I go trail mountain biking I do think the gshock would be more beneficial from its ruggedness
I trust my gshock in ruggedness than my Apple Watch.
I was here for the review, but then I saw the lego built mic stand :D It's awesome :D
This made my day!
Hello, very good video.
I have the GBD 200 and I'm thinking of buying this one. Do you recommend it?
Did u buy h5600? What do you think about it when compared to GBD200?
Nice hard truth review. Yeah i am not gonna use the step tracker/heart monitor.. wanna see the future iterations for gx/gxw56
Same. Those step trackers may be used but not the heart monitor.
What I would like to see, is a normal dw56* size square with an MIP display, tough solar, and a bicycle tracker GPS function/program. I'd pay big money for one.
Same but less than 300$
i want a casio square with mip for my collection and to wear once in a while
Still waiting for the DW-5040 to come out here in Belgium. I think I will go for that one. I like screwbacks. The DW-H5600 looks nice and I could be interested, but on the other hand: I have a Garmin Fenix 7X Sapphire Solar too, which is way better.
That Garmin sounds nifty. I’ll look it up.
I was really hyped for this watch, but the dimensions might make it a deal breaker. I guess I won't know for sure until I get a chance to try it on my wrist.
Yes you need to try it out first if you can.
I want to own one primarily because of its heart sensor even if I’m not a sport fanatic. I want to add this to my small collection. Regardless it may not be as accurate or as close in tech to Garmin.
Same boat as me.
A solar MIP square with BT time setting and DW5600E functions. I'd buy one in a heartbeat and wear it all the time.
Adding you to the list of people preferring the simple MIP square
I was thinking to purchase the GBD-H2000....But after seeing reviews of the Garmin Instinct 2X I will get the Garmin
You obviously need these features. i would suggest to go with Garmin as well.
Gshock should release classic square with MIP display (which I think is great, the digits are visible from every angle) but without heart rate monitor...
Ill add you to the list of people saying this.
I really like my GBD-200, which I actually imported from the UK, because the version in fire red wasn't available in Germany. I'm using it without a phone and even the step counter isn't to bad (+/* 50 meter during a walk of 5 Kilometers). Battery lasts 2 years and itÄs a generic CR2032. This one is much to expensive and charging a watch so often isn't acceptable.
If I was in the market for a fitness watch, I'd look at a dozen options other than Casio/G Shock. But I don't need a fitness watch, I just want a step tracker; I can do that with my Gbd800 and still have G Shock durability.
Yes this seems to have that too. I’m hoping to see how it lasts.
I am a fitness guy ex-military so I usually go out for running and so on, or Mountaniergin or klettersteig. Honestly I like the protrek more especially for the military. But Honestly, the instinct is better and also considering all the things that brings and let´s say cheaper than the Garmin 5x plus which I have and I use it, but the problem soon or later is the battery, so I went later for the garmin instinct solar 2, and all good. I used casio before but only the protrek prg 250 or something like that and the rangeman. Which honestly is more suitable kind of Garmin but for more adventourous stuffs.
I’m glad you actually went to such a journey and you pretty much know what you want in a watch. I’m going to have to check out the pro trek line.
I just want them to release one that is smaller, thinner...without the heart monitoring ...the one extra feature i would love to have is a step-tracker.
Very possible
We all know there are better fitness watches, but you're right, we will buy it all the same.
I've tried the Garmin Forerunner and the Galaxy Watch but I just keep coming back to G-Shock.
I've also had the GBD-H1000 and own the GBD-H2000 and GSW-H1000. Their fitness features and their apps honestly suck compared to its fitness competitors but hey, I'm a G-SHOCK fan and I want them to improve their fitness line, so I keep buying them.
I'm definitely buying the DW0H5600, I don't mind the bulk. I'm just lost between the black and blue metallic bezel models.
This is what i feel also. I have used an Apple Watch for all its fitness and apps but i also keep going back to the allure of G-shocks. It’s just a different fashion satisfaction. Fitness watches tend to feel bland to me. The only time my Apple Watch became exciting to me was when i started changing its watch faces. Shows really my preference.
I saw the headline and got excited but nothing can match Garmin for tracking runs and activity
I’m finding the battery life is not optimal when using the HR monitor always on and notifications on. Been getting 3-4 days without much sun exposure. This is without any other widgets running, only notifications and HR monitor. Not sure normal exposure to the Sun/light during everyday use will make much of a difference . I’ve been having to charge mine every 4-5 days. I had high hopes but I’m wearing my instinct 2x more with all the widgets running and not having to worry about the battery life or charging.
Here’s another good observation
After using my old trusty AE1200WH, I got myself a GBD200 because I wanted the closest thing to a fitness tracker on a Casio and ever since then I fell in love with the simplicity of the watch and the MIP display. After purchasing it, I was ranting like a madman to my wife that Casio needs to make a fitness tracker with the wrist sensors and smack that on the same GBD200 because that's all Casio needs to do to make customers like me not go for a Garmin or another similar brand.
And now that they've made the DW H5600, I can tell they're going exactly in the right direction. I am definitely going to save up and purchase this watch. I just cant see myself without using a Gshock.
EDIT: the jab at the app is true. Casio needs to step up their software game if they want to compete in the fitness tracker department, and Garmin still does it better by a longshot. However, I still hold true to waiting for that one Casio that does it just as good, and I'll jump on that train without a second thought lol
I have a few G shocks but I will wait until the price comes down
Good decision.
I already have a gbx100 and a gbd200 and two Garmin, an epix 2 and an instinct 2 solar... and I'm getting this.... Garmin will live in my ankle while I wear all my casios, and the h5600 will be one of those... it looks awesome, and it's larger than the regular 5600 without being th 56
Haha! I’ve never seen anyone wear a fitness watch on their ankle. (Does that actually work?) this gives “a slave to devices” a totally new meaning!
@@DesignAtelier yes it works pretty good, I got the idea from some garmin forums actually. And the salve thing yeap my wife always says it looks like a home arrest device but it hides well under jeans so no biggie
Absolutely right!!
This video is so spot on.
Thanks to all your feedback. It was a research all worth it.
Garmin solar powered is only act as a maintainer. I got 28 days out of an instinct 2x, 20 days with the instinct 2, 10 days with the Fenix 7 pro solar.
To me, I'm going back with the dwh5600 for now as I want to disconnect myself as much as I can.
I agree full heartedly. I am going to wait 🤷🏼♂️
The weird thing is that I’m not waiting. What a hypocritical host, eh?
@@DesignAtelier 😂
all so true! I totally agree and ended up buying a Instinct 2X Solar. and like you said, all I wanted was a readable neg display, i.e. a MIP display. And BTW one more thing CASIO did in their infinite wisdom: all the MIP watches CAN NOT show the date in German format (dd.mm). Duhhhh, implementing this on a MIP watch is probably 5 lines of firmware code. But no, CASIO enforced their US date format on all, which has confused me already on my 5610 several times. So it will probably take another 5 years to release a U version that then can also show dates in German format and weekdays in other languages than english. Meanwhile I am so happy with my Garmin, I probably wont come bakc to g-shock (if Garmin holds as long as my g-shocks)
So... does it have an MIP display or not?
MIP yes
I buy gshock for their simplicity in function, menu system and layout. Just add MIP screen technology yes I agree with you.
Just bought a garmin instinct 2 solar. I like it’s design and the MIP, while not as sharp-looking as the casio’s IMHO, is plenty readable. And about the solar charging, I work on a night shift so I think I should have gotten the non-solar version instead 😅 I tried charging it with my coolfire (which I used to use when I still had a solar g-shock) and it only charged it around 1-2% after around 4 hours of exposure, so it’s not worth it
I’ll take your word for it. I’m gradually getting the gshock vs Garmin thing here. Let’s see in a few weeks once I get these models in.
Garmin it’s crap
@@robygr if a 30-ish battery life is crap, then it’s crap. Otherwise, get an apple watch that will last you 100 days of battery life 😆
I want it for the sunrise sunset times
What language is this?
I agree with the overall sentiment. I want the mip display, but don't really care about the fitness stuff.
Wouldn't mind one that measured blood sugar levels. I'd be in line to buy one. At least its readable compared to other negative displays.
You have a very particular need dane. But yes its a plus for me even at that price.
@@DesignAtelier the ability to see the display is a big plus.
@@saleendriver yes of course.
I have to say as a square g shock fan and collector this does nothing for me. I own a garmin forerunner for running and it’s a tool that is used for that activity only, I admire it’s ability to track this activity well but do I connect with it emotionally??? NO. But I do with all the g shock squares especially my gold all metal. For me this watch is neither a great smart watch or a desirable design improvement, I actually think the display removes something special about the squares. And as for the price…………..not for me thank you I’d sooner buy a full metal square with a negative display 😍 great video brother.
Interesting. I can see what your point is. I guess the og display is part of the allure. But yes this is not a great smart watch but it’s trying to appeal to square collectors.
The old style display is part of what makes the squares cool! it’s retro it’s stood the test of time, it works!!! if you want MIP choose one of the new sports watches from Casio with that sort of display. For me I don’t want a smart watch my phone tells me all I need to know I don’t need my watch buzzing too. I could be rare but I’m totally turned off by this model. Now a 5500 metal mod that’s exciting! Why is there no 5500 mod kits!?????
Once again great video it’s almost like you had a change of heart????? Kudos to you
@@johnwayne346 I personally prefer notification functions as I am annoyed by the phone's ringtone and always on silent mode. I wish my GWB 5600 has this function and then it will be perfect and complete with features I need.
Just add the vibration alarm feature to the 5610u
That yellow NASA render is gorgeous. I am going to wait for the non health version that is thinner with better battery life.
Isn’t it funny that we prefer our batteries healthy than our own hearts? Haha. Seriously, I cant wait to see the possibilities with this watch.
Well, the G-Shock sizes were always of concern to me; I do have little complaints about anything else. With my average wrist, I should probably wear watches in range of 38 mm - 40 mm max, bigger start to look a bit awkward on me, and mostly they don't feel that comfortable. For instance, I have a Gravitymaster GA-1000-BER, it's my "daily beater" and it works for me well, since my job can be "unhealthy" for watches. Also, I love the neon backlight on it and I need it, since I often work night hours. For comparison, I also have several Edifices, for example quite basic EFA-119, which size seems to be just perfect for me, though it's obviously not as sturdy, as a G-Shock.
I'm that type of guy, who looks at specs first and decides whether I really need that, or not. It takes a really beautiful watch for me to forego specs, complications et c., just in favor of looks. That's probably the reason, why I haven't bought any GMT watch yet. It's just not a complication a really need to have right now; besides I already have time zones in my Edifices and G-Shock.
Of course, one does not need to be a diver to wear a diver's watch, but then I have to actually like it overall.
I don't mind this new G-Shock, but I wouldn't buy it, personally. I'm just not into smartwatches and fitness trackers in general. And, at this price point it is possible to buy some interesting and quite well built automatic watches (which I prefer). Yes, I'm a Casio fan, but I don't throw my money at anything they do. Still haven't jumped on the "CasiOak" bandwagon... Yes, these are pretty nice, if only they were smaller. Currently, I'm more interested in obtaining an Oceanus watch. I really like the slightly pearly, white dial on models like OCW-T150-2AJF, paired with blue hands and accents.
Yes my wrist works well also at around 38 to 40mm. However we differ on the specs and aesthetics side. I’m the opposite. I look at how its visually. I could care less for its specs if i need to. And yes youre right, theres so many other watches at this price point so it’s important to keep an eye elsewhere before pulling the trigger. I’m already excited and biased for this one so i can overlook the fitness features.
Casioak has a smaller version as GA -S or GM-S?
@@ltw8579 correct
@@DesignAtelier I wasn't even aware of this... Since I'm from Poland, I mostly check the sites of polish official distributors. These smaller variants of CasiOak are listed there as... ladies watches. Since using "men's watches" filter is the first thing I usually do, that explains a lot.😄
@@JanKowalski-rd7yb they are changing that too. They are starting to just call them smaller variants.
As a "Smarter square" $300 is not a outrageous price, it does way more than full metal Squares for a better price. So yes for collectors its a must buy.
The better question is is this a better buy than the 40th anniversary square DW5040PG-1 for the same price? for collectors you know that your getting both.
Still though this is a reasonable price for a superior square. However how many variants will Casio make and should you wait for the next batch in different colors/ materials?
I’m sure this is not the last we’ll see if these MIP squares.
Please respond to this comment, mad watch collector !! also start reviewing the cheaper Rolex and Tissot watches we know you got the money mate keep putting up the good work.
I love it. I constantly wish other squares were bigger
there are slightly bigger squares but maybe you prefer these simpler aesthetics.
@@DesignAtelier I have 3 different squares-Including the king. I'm not very picky. I like them all
@@shimaalcarrim7949 good going man! I’m yet to like a king. Hopefully they make a good new refresh.
Is it just me, or you released a video about this watch a couple of days ago, which is no longer available.... Is it in purgatory?
Yup. It was copyright struck for a 2 second clip that I used for footage. Something that normally falls under fair use but I don’t want to risk further complications. What’s important is serve you all the news and info.
Sir, thank you!!! You hit the nail on the head!! They couldn’t get it right!! All we wanted was a mip display! Not the fitness tracking nerd stuff!! Subscribed!
I’m sure they’re just posturing to show off what can be done and tease what’s to come. They’ve done that time and again. We know an MIP display only feature will happen.
I just want a good MIP display with the triple sensor, no need for GPS in my case. And of course, the classic square design.
I don’t know about adding a triple censor on it. But yes just MIP display please.
I want an M5610 with a MIP display.
Your video is painful but true. Agreed 100%. Now I have to wait for a regular square G with MIP display...
It’s $300 painful but I’m willing to endure that pain for this one.
I have both Garmin and G-Shock in my collection. Garmin is best in the market for tracking fitness and exercise. I like G-Shocks because they look badass and for on-the-fly timing and such they are perfect. Plus very durable of course
Thanks bro. Yeah I need to experience a Garmin now.
@@DesignAtelier Just bought the Instinct 2X Solar. So many features for $450. Even has a physical flashlight built in
@@watchdogpodcast239 I saw that. But I’m gravitating towards the MARQ series. Lol like I have the money to buy such.
@@DesignAtelier yeah those are nice but a little too pricey for me as well. The Instinct is great for everyday use and tracking exercise.
Painfully true ...
I didn’t realise that the DW H5600 was bigger than the GBD 200 !!!
And no, we do not want fitness features, but just the regular DW square + MIP display ... @casio
Casio. Please listen to these viewers. We have very simple needs.
JUST GIVE US THE MID DISPLAY ON A NORMAL SQUARE FFS!
Great video btw. Its waaay too tall for me.
I want one of these bad ,but I've had a garmin instinct for 4 years now and i cant find anything that compares to the value, and durability
Both can exist in the same collection
@Design Atelier true
1.totaly inacurate heart rate monitor (if is same as gbd-h2000) , 2.doesnt have swim pool excercise (it's so easy to implement - manual mode) 3.price (because doesn't have half of garmin chips, gps for example). If they fix 1 and 2 and come down to 200 price I woud consider it
The price is harder to accept for many. But yes all I need is the display.
I am going to wait
Cool.
So hard to find these watches online with the strange names
The names of these watches feel as long as a Bitcoin address
Welcome to the GShock culture. Here’s what all numbers and letters mean: ruclips.net/video/nVeoKqAqb_w/видео.html
Alternatively - The GBX-100, which was released in May of 2020, is a square with a forged bezel and a MIPS display. 🤷♂
Well it’s not a true square design. But it’s not a bad model.
I bought this watch in the limited edition format and its effing great the garmin instinct is overkill and feels like a cheap toy in comparison. I have no regrets and as my second foray into smart watches after a bunch mii bands that I destroyed this thing feel great is built like a tank and measure exactly what I need it to although I would like a cycling function on this watch so I might get the GBD H2000 in addition
Is it solar powered
Solar assisted
hit the nail on the head
Thank you. One of the few times.
I have the original Garmin Instinct Solar so I’m fine with the smart watches (as in, I don’t need another smartwatch). However, being a fanboy, I may entertain purchasing this watch if they lower the price.
same here on purchasing. we’ll see.
