- Mabuhay from Manila! In this video of Living the Jo Life, we visit the incredible capital of the Philippines, Manila, before embarking on a 3-week trip around the country. We start off our adventure by exploring the historic walled city of Intramuros. Stepping through those gates felt like stepping back in time, with its cobbled streets and grand old buildings. Next, we braved the bustling markets around Divisoria Mall. Wow, it was a sensory overload! From fresh produce to quirky souvenirs, clothes and shoes, there was something for everyone. Wanting to experience local transportation, we hopped on a jeepney, a brightly decorated minibus that's a Manila icon. If catching a tuk-tuk instead, remember to negotiate the fare clearly beforehand - we almost fell victim to a scam! But hey, that didn't stop us from belting out Bon Jovi songs on the backseat of a tuk-tuk. It turns out, Filipinos love a good power ballad too! After the jeepney ride, we ended up singing karaoke classics with the friendliest locals you'll ever meet. Filipinos truly have the warmest smiles and most welcoming spirit - we felt like part of the family in no time! We ended our night at the legendary Tutuban Night Market, which was another busy but amazing place for experiencing local life and the happy and welcoming spirit of the Filipinos. We also visited BGC, which has a completely different feel to the rest of Manila, with massive shopping malls, skyscrapers and upmarket boutiques and restaurants. Manila, was a whirlwind of sights, sounds, and incredible people. We can't wait to share more of our adventures around this magnificent island nation with you!

Good mom who stood up to that scammer..your mom reacted super fast and told that scammer that he would not get any money or tip. It was strongly done!💪👏 amazing family 🙏🏻

That's one of the things that gives the country a bad name. Those shady hustlers.
They even hustle us Filipinos. I know they're just trying to survive.
But it doesn't mean they need to cheat. So stay vigilant everyone!

Scammers are everywhere in all touristy cities around the world.
Precisely, to think that those tuk-tuk's doesn't even have a frachise to operate and take passengers unlike the legit tricycle and jeepneys. The city government ought to ban them from operating. Those things proliferated during the covid-19 lockdown period when public transport was scarce, now that everything is back to normal they ought to be ban. It's always a cliche for them to say that it's their means of living and yet they con both locals and even foreign tourist which gives the Philippines a bad crap.
WE ALWAYS VOTE FOR THIEVES, NO INTENTION ON BETTERING THE PEOPLE JUST TAKING TURNS TO STEAL AND STEAL
Welcome to the Philippines! April and may are our hottest months but right now we're slowly transitioning into rainy season. I'm very sorry you had almost been scammed because there are people who want to take advantage of the situation. Carry your bag in front of you and not at your back in very crowded places to discourage pickpocket. Btw your daughter looks like the female version of her Dad. I was recently in the Philippines too and was almost scammed as well. It's unfortunate that there are people like that everywhere, but it didn't deter me from appreciating the beauty of the country and the warmth of its people.
Those scammers usually live in squatters and have been in and out of jail. The lowest of the low.@@InvestedAdventure
This is the best vlog i've seen so far that really appreciated Manila and the locals. Always be beware of those scammers, they're all-around. I suggest you try and visit the biggest mall we had in the country and one of the largest mall in the world which is called Mall of Asia. Have a nice trip!

I know anything about facts of the Philippines: Jeepneys are vehicles that are only found here, They love to text one another, malls have churches and basketball is popular here.

Kaso mga mapagsamantala mga driver sa manila lalo mga etrike, pedicab, tricycle at kalesa sa intramuros. nakakahiya yung lalaki nka green nagtawag lng ng Etrike gusto bayaran din siya ng 250 tpos yung driver hindi rin umiimik .
Napakagaling mang scam kamo. Kaya walang chance umunlad bansa natin.

Careful with the scammers. They are very common in tuktok, tricycles and taxis. Do not yield to their demands. Know the price before you board. Most often better to take Grab or Uber. Enjoy and have wonderful explorations to a country of warm, hospitable and jolly people
Thank you so much for watching 🙏🏼 Unfortunately, it was really hard to get taxis. They didn't what to take us to where our hotel was located. Despite this experience we found the locals very friendly and kind.
