I retired this year, sold my condo in Florida & recently bought a large motorhome to live in full-time. Planning on going up to provide some trail magic on the AT this summer.
It’s great you’re still learning valuable lessons about life. It’s refreshing to hear how a dad wants to be there more for your kids. Some of the best trips we took with our kids were camping trips. The laughter we had around the campfire and in the tents were great. Keep up the great hike Frozen.
Frozen....you are such a grateful guy....sitting here on my screenporch in Minnesota you are a positive influence on everyone no matter what the trail delivers....keep it going man!!
That water cache is provided by and serviced by former PCT hiker "Devilfish". You'll run into his water caches when you head through central Oregon after Crater Lake. I had the privilege of meeting him last year on the trail when I was at Windigo Pass. What a servant. He spends the early part of the hiking season servicing the So. Cal. water caches, then heads to OR for mid-summer to service several that he's set up there. He recharges all the power banks. What a guy! If you want to give back, he asks that any donations go to the Warner Springs Community Center.
The best is yet to come Frozen. Your family does not need to be paid back. They gave you what you needed out of Love. You Love them in return. Be the best you can be with them and on the trail. That is all that is asked of you.
Hey dude not sure if anyone has caught it or told you yet but make sure you are periodically wiping your lens! I have been seeing it for the last couple episodes but it dulls out the colors and there is a whitish film. Just wiping it every couple uses is a game changer 👍🏼 keep up the good work! I caught up to you in 2 days from the start haha
Jason, I'm sure you are a great dad! You are following your passion of hiking, and that sets a wonderful example for your children. You have always said "don't wait" do go on your own adventure. Those of us who are older and have waited will agree that we wish we would have done these things sooner.
I just want you to know I comment and laugh out loud to your comments and jokes. Damn my IT job is boring! You’re doing great! My knees are hurting from a 3 day backpacking trip with some scouts so I can’t imagine doing the PCT. Sure is beautiful! Can’t wait to see the Sierras too!
It is amazing to have watched your journey, from where you were before the AT to where you are now, wanting to live life to the fullest and be the best parent ou can be....
Knowing you attune the music to your mood made me smile when the upbeat music and the views set in :) And about being a better person when you get back home: just be you. Be the very best version of the you, you already are. Your loved ones give this opportunity for a reason: you.
Hey Jason, I must be to "old school" because I prefer paper maps and compass (putting what I learned in Boy Scouts 55+ years ago to good use) but I'm learning now how to use my phone for things when I have a signal. But then again I'm not doing a thru hike across several states either. LOL keep up the good pace but don't finish too soon, I'm enjoying watching you, beats watching the "Boob Tube"!😂
I just love the lizards on the West coast. I miss them the most from my childhood. I feel like here on the East coast all I see are the Rainbow Skinks. You're doing great and be safe out there!
Family & friend connections are precious links for sure. Sacrificial love comes in many forms. Stay humble & brave Frozen. Your tales and sharing are and will be a form of payment. As always, thanks for taking us along! ☯️
Hey Frozen, Maybe you will do fine at peak bagging the Sierras. The water crossings might be the challenge (and snow bridges?). I've seen hikers crossing the rivers in a line, holding on to the guy in front sidestepping all the way across. Seems safest to me.
Newbie follower here. Never done the pct or any thru hike so I'm living vicariously thru a few of you. 😁✌️ I'm right off the 178 at the walkers pass crossing, so I see alot of yall in Ridgecrest. 👍 happy trails and enjoy the Sierra! 😁✌️🥾🏞
I camped a short distance up from that squeaky gate. I was wondering if you would show it. I remember both of those water caches. It's fun to see things through your lens.
When do expect to arrive at the Canadian border? I really enjoy your videos. The scenery is beautiful and it seems to change every few miles from deserts to woods.
I know there are nuances, but not better father and step dad, just better. Same same. All kiddos deserve it. They don't get to choose, but you get to choose them. Please.
Pacific Crest Trail 2024 Day 58: Mather Pass These people are like 3 weeks a head of you! Good to follow them you will know whats coming. Seen some nasty high water!1 some INFO for ya!!!
I have been following you since the beginning... you are very chill and your videos are easy to watch. Only request would be to point out some of the routes and POI in your beautiful vista shots. Say whats up to Bigfoot.
Hey Frozen, Bobcat here. I'm now at Bishop pass. Where are you man? I started Forester pass with you if you remember... Hoping you are doing well. See you on the PCT!
obviously the winds are there so the turbines are here but i will say while im a huge fan of solar, it sucks that they want to tear up huge pieces of land to put in farms rather than just put them on rooftops. of course no money for the big corps that way. thanks for saving that lady: i had said you would be one of the most prepared people on the trail, it shows constantly!! 600!! wow. so many beautiful scenes thanks for taking us along
Those wind turbines are hideous and don't make enough energy to pay for themselves/ offset all the energy and pollution it took to make them. Here in Germany, it's like they went around and found all the beautiful views, and then put up a giant distopian grey windmill to destroy the scenery. Gross. Love your video.

Hey Frozen. I spent the night underneath that same Joshua tree in 2020 on my PCT Thruhike. It got up to 114° that day.

The sqeaky gate made me laugh even before your comments after it😀
Frozen....you are such a grateful guy....sitting here on my screenporch in Minnesota you are a positive influence on everyone no matter what the trail delivers....keep it going man!!
"Adding cement to the foundation" - well said! Continued safe travels.
When we are home we want to be away, and when we are away we want to be home, especially when we are well loved. It’s the engine of life.

the trail magic with the huge "treasure" cache at the end is unbelieveable!!! thx for taking us with you & keep on hikin`!!😄
The best thing about hiking is the camping & the view out of the tent!

Awesome Frozen! I just know soon we will see Frozen in a hammock again!!??😃👍🏼😃👍🏼
I look forward to EVERY SINGLE video! Keep em coming!

That cache at the end was crazy!!
Loving being able to watch your PCT journey this year.
I watched your AT journey 5 years ago.
Same here
Thank you for the effort you put in to bring us along with you on this epic journey. I love following and watching.

26 miles in one day. That is amazing 🌻👣

Family is so important I gotta good feeling you will be there for everyone. Take care frozen
Your crushing it out there. Stay safe and have fun
You are doing great!!! The water and other things the trail angels do is amazing!! Stay strong Frozen!!

Other people can have expansive views, but give me that piney forest section any day.
May not seem like it to you but to me it seems like this journey is flying by
Such a gorgeous section of trail (none of it has been bad of course). Definitely living vicariously through your journey. Thanks so much!
Idk the LA aqueduct was kinda bad xD
So happy for your adventure. Thank you for documenting your journey.

That Day 36 was special. : )
the lizard made it back on trail at 18:18 then took another blue blaze

Finally some hard pack beneath your feet. Hike On!!
that was an immense amount of trail magic!
Man, I hope everything is going good mentally and physically. Keep it up, you can do it. Sorry for the delay I was on vacation.😅
Gate steals the show!
Loving it Frozen! Keep steppin. 🥾🥾
I camped a short distance up from that squeaky gate. I was wondering if you would show it. I remember both of those water caches. It's fun to see things through your lens.
Dude the MIB reverence made me laugh out loud literally. Good one!

Nice video and views. You should lock the gates, keeps the cows in. Maybe I missed it.
Thank you!
You make this journey so pleasant to watch!😊
In behalf of all of us who will never be able to make this quest….THANK YOU!!!🩵🩵🩵
You repay your parents by being a good man, father and husband. I’m sure they are very proud of you.
I hear you about the wind turbines, I was trying to take pictures and the area was full of big electric towers....it was awful
Pacific Crest Trail 2024 Day 58: Mather Pass These people are like 3 weeks a head of you! Good to follow them you will know whats coming. Seen some nasty high water!1 some INFO for ya!!!
Great vid, say hi to Bigfoot for me.
What's your average weight, minus the water bottles ?
I have been following you since the beginning... you are very chill and your videos are easy to watch. Only request would be to point out some of the routes and POI in your beautiful vista shots. Say whats up to Bigfoot.
Congrats on 600!
Nice video. It's a pitty I can't keep up with your videos as they come out.
Hey Frozen, Bobcat here. I'm now at Bishop pass. Where are you man? I started Forester pass with you if you remember... Hoping you are doing well. See you on the PCT!
We are heading to Piute Pass tomorrow from bishop.
You met hiking dancer!!!
The lonely gate just wanted to say hello to everyone.
obviously the winds are there so the turbines are here but i will say while im a huge fan of solar, it sucks that they want to tear up huge pieces of land to put in farms rather than just put them on rooftops. of course no money for the big corps that way. thanks for saving that lady: i had said you would be one of the most prepared people on the trail, it shows constantly!! 600!! wow. so many beautiful scenes thanks for taking us along
My worst nightmare no water. 😮
What do you do with your food bag at night?
Hey why didn’t you oil that gate?
Don't slack on the daily stretching!
Frozen, do you feel nervous walking through an over grown section of the trail given that you’ve seen 3 rattle snakes so far ?! 🐍
Absolutely but what can you do?
4:35 if you pick up a lizard put him back down facing the same direction
Are you finding your feet are swelling or are staying swollen?
Nope they are pretty normal.
Just use nuclear no need for wind turbines. Better as well.
NUCLEAR POWER is the cleanest ❤
If you meet a girl named Jordan from Alberta Canada tell her Hi! 😁
Dropping the channel! To much whining!
I don’t like wind turbines either! They have ruined the prairie!
