  • Here I am again talking about another taboo homeschool topic! This is one I feel pretty strongly about, having seen how our public school, and I'm assuming most public schools, handle this. Let me know how you feel about this topic! I love hearing how other homeschooling moms feel about it!
    Enjoy and thanks for watching!

I do the same thing with my homeschooling children. It’s really up to you and what you want out of this experience. My children learn quick so once they have mastered the skill we move on. Your videos are amazing and inspiring.

The curriculum spirals anyway. If you skip something, they'll see that concept next year. I wouldn't skip the same concept every year though. I agree with you about feeling ok with customizing homeschool for what works for you and your kids.

Some states require homeschool hours vs. number of lessons so if we need to fit in another 30 minutes of school that day, math drills are a good way to use that time and build those skills.

Back in the late '80s when I was in 11th grade in my Econ class we were told by the teacher that he was going to skip the Constitution because we would get that next year in Government class. But when the next year came and I was sitting in my Government class The teacher said we're going to skip the Constitution because we got it last year in our Econ class. When the students spoke up including myself and said no, we didn't. We were told we were not going to do it, and then said just read it yourself. Years later after I was married I mentioned this story to my husband. My husband is 2 years older than me and went to a whole different School district as he lived in a different county. He had the same experience! When we discuss this with our children who are now grown and married... We come to find out they were told the same thing as well! My children are 7 years apart in age and went to two different schools and two different school districts.
