The issues you mentioned are easily fixed. It took me 5 minutes to remove the clicking part and made it smooth adjustable clipper. Now other people complained about your can not zero gapped this clipper well I just did it took me 1 minute very simple....

I got it on a special Christmas deal and it was somewhere around 18 with the discount. Yes, out of the box, the lever is trash and the blade slide at an angle which causes uneven blends. I tried the reverse black piece method and it was slightly better but not good. I tried to replace every style of lever and finally found a solution. I swapped the floating lever from an older model TPOB reaper. It can be zero gapped but the biggest improvement was that it opens as much like a master or fast feed. The slant blade gone. Did a little research and the lever TPOB reaper was from a standard plastic Wahl lever. Not the metal looking 1919. It is now my official go to.
Honestly this clipper is becoming ine ofnmy favorites and i have many clippers, including some from tpob. All i did was change the taper blade to a tpob faper blade and made it a floating lever, its essentially y an x clipper but with a plastic casing, that doesn't really bother men, well worth it👍
I noticed that you compared the Kemei to the TPOB, but it's closer to being comparable to the Supreme Vader. They are basically the exact same form factor of each other.
In regards to the blade, are they by any chance the same size as the wahl blades? Just wondering if I would be able to switch wahl blades onto it. Thanks
Thanks for the reply man. Also can you please tell me what guards does the 2296 come with? Can't find the info anywhere. Just wondering if it has the 0.5 and 1.5 guards @@thewoodshedbarber
Do you recommend it for Beard use at home? Im looking for a good beard clipper + trimmer, and everything comercial ive ever had was not good for long time use, like philips etc.... And i think only for 2 times a week at home i dont need to get a tbop or sc if can save a bit money ^^ Nice video, thx 👍
Hey Matt, thanks for the review. I got mine about six months ago. I paid around $22 total. I adjusted the lever to floating and swamped out the cutting blade. The power is good and I use it on kids. Awesome tool.
The weight of the product is not listed properly. Can I know the weight? If you also do a review of vgr003, it would be nice if you could tell me the weight then too.
I'm so sad about the lever. The floating lever wouldn't help me cause I'm new. If only we were able to contact them and have them change it. I wanted this as my first clipper so bad. Does anyone else know a clipper this good that is under the radar? Preferably a AliExpress one.
@@thewoodshedbarber alright 👍🏼. But if I want to fade with kemei 2296, there’s no half guard or 1,5 guard. Is it still possible to fade? How should I do?
@Rongoalz replace that guard set bro. I only use 2 guard sets. My classic andis purple 2 mag or gamma plus tight 2 mag. Depending on clipper type those 2 cover everything nicely.
I think there is a mixup with a couple of numbers here. The actual charging time is 3,5 hours. The runtime is 350 minutes. Thats pretty decent in my book 😊
Thanks for this review. i changed my blades to the walh magic clip blades. The blade adjuster is the reason why my fading is so hard. I will have to try to modify it to a floating lever

Dude, you’re so humble. I can tell you’re a great person. Thanks for another cool vid, and also thanks for the hack tip. I’m getting one now!! haha
Wow bro! That’s that nicest thing someone can hear. I great appreciate it man! 🤜🏼💥🤛🏼

I love fellow clipper tinkerers
@@thewoodshedbarber I tend to follow Edounboxing but sometimes I like to do my own thing. Subscribed.
Do you recommend this Kemei 2296 Clipper or the VGR 003?

It’s got good bones, we just have to tinker to get the best out of it

💯 percent same as Vader, I agree , I compared to disprove the people saying they’re the same

Not the moving blade but the still blade yes

Really good that you explained the selling of molds
So many things I’m still learning bro!

Good stuff!
Hey guys I just ordered mine. I’m just wondering does this clipper take Wahl premium guards
what blade setup did you use ?
I swapped the cutting blade to the JRL
Fyi u can get a madeshow m10 lever and put it on the kemei to get all the clicks.
Please review Kemei 1856 and 2293!
Hey man, what do you think of the kemei 1071?
Not tried it yet
Is it easy to remove the gear?
Very, it’s just a washer on the taper arm screw

Sorry, I don’t weigh in my reviews as of yet
gotta cop this before my barber school starts
great review btw
Wahl color pro or kemei 2296 and 2299 set for the same price as the wahl color pro, good or bad deal
I would go kemei set. You can do more especially if you are just starting out
@@thewoodshedbarber I'm going to do exactly that, thank you,

Watch his other trimmer video. The trimmer is legit.
Trimmer? Absolutely
@@valetudo025 I saw it before just checking twice LOL
How would you rate the clipper after you did the modification of the lever?
For barber usage before it was like a 2 or 3 after I’d say a 6 or 7 which is pretty good for the price.

The VGR 003 is perfect for a beginner. And it’s pretty cheap
What's the best rezor can you recommend bro
My favorite razor is the Martin Extra long from MD Barber.
should i get it as my first clipper?
I would go TPOB troll for a first clipper. It’s cheap but quality is high. If you are wanting to really get into barbering.
@@thewoodshedbarberhow much does tpob cost then?
@@Rongoalz the troll can be found from $65-$100 depending

Whats the mm of the lever fully extended?
It has a fusion style blade so all the way open is probably around 2.7mm

can you fix the clicks ??
You have to take the taper arm off and remove a notched washer to do it

Might just be a bad blade. That is odd though especially for Babyliss. How old is the blade?
@@thewoodshedbarber it is about 2 years old the blade and the whole machine. but I have only used it 2 times a week to shave my beard.
Mod the lever and that's it...me I removed my click lever so far I have no problem with it

You do know all of tpob is drop shipped with a logo on it too right? Lol
2299 or 1986?
