- When Lesta Out-Americas Wargaming by slapping 16 Des Moines guns on a Montana hull. Unironically a strong and super fun ship, shame I can't play it on EU.

This ship is sadly only available on the CIS server/version of the game, it's 30k Steel over there. It has a surprising 13 Flak, fast reloading heal and 16x 203mm guns in quad turrets on a Montana hull. Demented, but hilarious.

Because Wargaming had to hard break off of lesta gaming which caused massive chaos. I was recently told by some of the community contributors that they hope to be fully restored by 25. Also that there were major differences in direction between Wargaming and Lesta. Apparently Lesta refused adding the Johnston to the game.
Lesta be like: "Since you enjoyed that, did you know that during ww2 the soviets developed a submarine armed with Yamato guns, that fire depleted uranium shells, and can destroy a US battleship 169 miles away in one second?" :D

Actual design called for new superstructure design (as unfinished ship was just hull without superstructure) along with more modern 5"/54 in larger quantity and 3"/70, both seen on Annapolis

26 km range, 16 guns, 8 second reload, Montana hull, being one of the tankiest in game. This thing will hose down enemies half a map away and chunk anything up close, while tanking like crazy. Are the devs absolutely braindead? As if the Illinois was not insane enough.
🤓Akchually it's only 26 km range with spotter plane, it's 21.something without the plane. Still demented as hell.

You don't fucking brawl bbs in an Illinois but you also wouldn't do it in a Musashi because the turret traverse is absolute dodo. With both ships, you have to reverse and rely on your overmatch or dpm.
Yea obviously Musashi is better equipped to play the traditional bb role, duh. But that doesn't mean she is more influential. Since you've gone all personal and claimed I don't have any other tier 9 premium bbs, or that I am not experienced in that game (which was obviously a fucking shit take) I'd like to see your stats. Also, please note btw. that I am 39 on EU with Illinois in terms of average dmg.
Also please note that while yes, Des Moines does have about 90k more HE DPM, she can get overmatched by a bunch of BBs, her rage is much more limited and if you want to play her in an optimal configuration for randoms with either range or unique upgrade her HE DPM is down to just 44k more than Illinois.

The funny thing is, I think this Des Mointana thing would probably have been classed as a heavy cruiser if it had been real.
Ships are classed by armour and role not guns. It's a BB

Why is this not coming on the EU server, like forever ? Although I gotta say I dont get on with my Illinois, those floaty shells are quite hard to hit at 20k plus range

So much for rock, paper, scissors. This ship can do it all. The tankiness of a BB with the dpm of two cruisers put together. Strong against everything. Talk about jumping the shark.

The thing I dont like is the lack of up close heavy damage potential… in brawls it doesnt seem like it would cit anything and it would get destroyed.
USN 203 heavy AP with improved angle in close range does slap hard mate …..
It's an 8 inch shell. Aim properly and anything except the toughest battleships is doomed.
