Korean solo q is much faster paced so early game dominators like draven and kalista are picked a lot. Kalista is also one of the picks that can match dravens early pressure. So those 2 together pretty much
they are basically counters to each other, when someone picks Draven the other player will often pick Kalista if it's available, it happened at MSI too where if someone picks one of them the other has to respond with the other or Varus, or they just lost

Survivability would be much better, as it prolongs his presence in team fights, consequently leading to higher damage output over time. However, to be fair, by the time he bought it, the game was essentially over due to their massive gold lead so in the end it probably didn't matter as much what he went
