All Yuroba speaking people to be part of Yuroba Region while Igbo speaking people to stay where they are in Kogi, Benue, Edo, Akwaibom, Rivers, Delta and Cross River States. Not in this generation anymore that Nigeria should be allowed to continue with their Evil agendas against the Igbo's. Our fathers left after 3 years to form Midwest(Bendel) and C-O-R group wanted and tried to leave the Eastern region because of how the Igbos treated them.

If this bill is accepted for further reading, it is subject to debate and corrections. Agitations for state creation, resource control, state police, who is a Nigerian?, sharing formular, VAT on alcohol, Farmers'/herders' clash, arms control, etc, shall be discussed at full without mincing words. This is just a draft proposal that will be argued and amended at the National Assembly by all interested parties. The Igbos should fight to include all Igbo speaking areas and other culturally similar groups. But I wonder if the Ikwerre and the Anioma will want to join the SE. The Yoruba speaking areas of Kwara and Kogi States have long wanted to be with the Yorubas in the SW. Igbos should stop rivalling the Yorubas in all things and just fight for what they want.
You first have to give the Ikwere's, the Anioma's and all the other Igbo speaking communities that were cynically imbedded into the other states besides the southeastern states, the opportunity to join the southeastern region. If they refuse to that, then they should remain where they are. It's wrong to assume that they would not want to join their kinsmen in the southeast. As a matter of fact, I don't see why they would want to remain where they currently are. They're being marginalized and their communities are not nearly as developed as any of the southeastern region communities. This is an opportunity to right the wrong that successive Nigerian governments have perpetrated on the Igbos by splitting them up into different groups.

The same evil plans that Nigeria has for the Igbos is manifested here again. See Ohaji/Egbema. If the proponents of the plan or Bill should, technically add all of Kogi State into the Western Region, why not add the Igbos in Kogi, Benue and Delta States into the proposed Southeast Region.
I advise that people should be asked where they want to belong to and not forcibly assigning to wherever the government wants or feels. Remember that some of the causes of the instability we have in Nigeria today is the shabby job done by the so-called Nasir Boundary Adjustment Commission.
Anioma in Delta cannot be added to SE because it's co existence neighbors were settled in 1963 in the referendum that led to the independence of Mid West from western region.

Mr. Blogger, I think you are wrong and biais about your assumptions that the Regionalism Bill favours the Yoruba and the North. First, Yoruba Region is bigger than the Eastern Region. All those yoruba speaking tribes in Kogi, Kwara etc are actually Yorubas lumped with non-yoruba States some tears back. Now, they are truly willing to be re-united with their people in Western or Yoruba or Oduduwa Region, depending on whichever name is convenient for you.
Second, the fact is that the Eastern Region is smaller in size compared to Yoruba Region. There are many tribes in Niger Delta who are not Igbos but were lumped with Eastern Region some years ago and Now are willing to stand on their own.
