Thanks for your comment! I like Liqui Moly as a brand and have used some of their products. Regarding Ceratec, I think it works to a certain extent, and I would recommend it for engines with higher mileage. While some additives are ineffective, this one seems to be beneficial.
Hey i humbly request you to answer my questions I own VW polo TDI 1.2 2013 and engine running at 50k kms exact In india..In my city temperature can reach upto 47 48... And as low as 8 or 9 But i dont use my car much in summers. I dont drag my car...i dont want much performance... If a go somewhere i cruise at 80-90kmph max...i just demand some smoothness and mileage and longer life of engine so which engine oil i can use 5w30 or 5w40 vw suggest 507 00 / 505 01 so what would be better ? 2. When previously serviced at 42000km my mechanic uses 5w30..if i use 5w40(if you suggest ) this time wouldn't it effect my car ? Because even after drainage appx 500ml of previous oil still lefts...
Hi Mohd, Given your driving conditions and preferences, here's the lowdown: VW Specifications: VW suggests 507 00 / 505 01 specifications, which are typically met by both 5W30 and 5W40 oils. These specifications ensure compatibility and optimal performance for your engine. Temperature Considerations: Since you experience extreme temperatures (up to 47-48°C and as low as 8-9°C), it's crucial to use an oil that performs well across this range. 5W30: Offers good cold start performance and is generally better for fuel economy. Suitable for moderate temperatures and typical driving conditions. 5W40: Provides better protection at higher temperatures due to its higher viscosity when hot. It’s a bit thicker, offering more protection in the extreme heat you mentioned. Recommendation: Use 5W40 if you expect to drive in high temperatures, even if it's not frequently. It will provide better engine protection during those hot days. Given your smooth driving style and focus on longevity and smoothness, 5W40 is a good choice. 2. Switching from 5W30 to 5W40 Switching from 5W30 to 5W40 will not harm your engine, especially considering both oils meet the VW specifications. The slight difference in leftover oil (about 500ml) will mix with the new oil without causing any issues. Key Points: 1. Compatibility: Both oils are compatible with your engine's requirements. 2. Residual Oil: The small amount of 5W30 left after drainage will blend with the new 5W40 without any adverse effects. I hope this helps :)
@@HonestMechanicChannel thanks alot for the advice...that's precious to get knowledge from a well knowledged RUclipsr...just 1 more thing I wanted to ask that ? For 5w30 which oil can be better ? Castrol magnatec start-stop 5w30 Or Shell helix hx8 And how many kms both can last ?
Thank you for your work.
Can i ask, do you think liqui moly ceratec is good to use in engine?
