ABOUT ME: Learning about your ancestors is fun! It’s detective work at its best. Discovering those who came before you is a treasure hunt with great rewards! My professional genealogy business, Ancestry Consulting by Aimee, and my You Tube channel were born out of a desire to help others discover their family history. I have been working on my genealogy since a teenager and have been helping others as a professional genealogist for almost 10 years. Whether breaking through a genealogy brick wall, determining parentage through DNA matches, beginning genealogy research, or discovering your family origins, I want to help you build your family tree! While I specialize in United States genealogy, these videos outline research methods which will help you research your family history anywhere. Happy hunting!

Lively video. Great information. And provided a link to your full-length video about 20 plus other geneaology sites that are your favorites for working on geneaology. Great leadin to your other sites and an awesome video.
Thanks for that!
Those are my 3 favorites also!
I learned I’m part Viking a while ago. I’m wondering if I’m related to Leif Erickson who was the person who discovered America before Columbus. Our last names are similar and since I’m part Viking then I might as well check.
Fun!!
Called for Ancestry
😄
Any for free?
Yes 😃
FamilySearch is free to use, and has been a big help
And 23andMe
Does ancestry work for poc or people with ancestry in another country??
Great question. Ancestry does work for people in other countries.
@@AncestryAimee Excited to try it out. Thank you.
I am frustrated with Family Search
You’re not alone, but it’s a great website for so many things. Check out this playlist. There are a few videos that may be helpful. FamilySearch Tutorials

why?
The tree frustrates some people when they treat it as “theirs” but it’s a shared tree. When you keep that in mind it’s great.
@@AncestryAimee i don't understand
how is it shared? i thought it was private
@@GotMyTowel42 it’s a collaborative tree. Living people are private in your portion of the tree but when you connect with dead people they are shared so there is ideally one world tree eventually. Check out my video about it Your guide to FamilySearch (Maybe the best FREE genealogy resource)
