While i'm still huge fans of both SS and ASP, i think perish brings way more to the table musically and lyrically. Look at the styles between mark h. and chris storey... night and day. Mark excels in brutal riffs no doubt, but it just lacks the creativity that storey put into it. For some reason it reminds me alot of what kris norris did for darkest hour. I feel like they just add an element of pathos into craziness.
I listened to ASP a lot during high school with a very good friend of mine. We liked to get shit faced at my place while listening to ASP (and doing circle pits like two idiots haha). The Last Relapse is one of our favorite song, the perfect one to end a show. I still hope to see them live with my friend.
They sound incredible. I was fortunate enough to see them in Burlington, VT with Animosity, JFAC, and Annotations of an Autopsy. What a time to be alive.

all the 12 year olds that are saying he will never replace mitch in SS, this guy will take suicide silence, make them so much more technical so that the music will melt their ears off! i seriously think eddie will turn suicide silence into a much better band (assuming he gets a say in the writing of the songs)
it depends on how it is written, if a song is written around a riff or drum parts then i guess your right in saying that though if he writes the vocals to include different syllables the guitar and drums would have to work to that making it more tech

Because he wanted to spend more time with his family. He said he still wants to be in a band, just not travel so much or at all. He joined a local bay area band. It pretty much sucks, considering he writes most of the riffs. But just like them on Facebook or add Eddie as a friend and you'll pretty much get the inside scoop
You should check out Oblivion though (Ben Orum's new band). they're more original death metal, not like ASP, but seriously good at it. Everybody loves it.
