My first Avenged song. I was driving to work at 5:00am and was just thinking "new music sucks" when Bat Country came on. It was a kick in the nuts. Rock was back for me.

Same here, so I’ve played video games and first heard “Bat Country” & “Run to the Hills” by Iron Maiden from SSX On Tour that moment introduced me to music in general. When it played I knew in my heart of hearts that A7X was going to be my all-time favorite band. Also super stoked for the new album (hopefully) this year.
“He who makes a beast out of himself, gets rid of the pain… of being a man!” That guitar solo by Syn always gives me shivers down my spine & so much head banging energy because of how beautiful it is!

I remember thinking 'what the hell is this, punk or death metal? I don't really like either one but I really like this.' And then there's this 'I Will Survive' dueling guitar jam a few minutes in. And it's also sort of like a film, and Beast and the Harlot is a musical score, but with a bit of a death metal rhythm section, and crisp vocal harmonies. You have to be a cretin to think this isn't spectacular. IIRC their stuff in 2005 demolished everything else on the radio. The first 5 on COE I can't get sick of. It's all too rich and catchy with crazy energy, which no one else has really done better. 1 and 4 are among the best efforts in the history of rock.
