I can’t just sit back and not make a comment on this video. Organic, old school turkey hunters who truly love the bird are a dying breed. I’m not sure how old you are or who is responsible, if anyone, for teaching the ways of a true conservationist, but you sir, are on the top of my list for “real” turkey hunters. Turkey hunting, in it’s purest form, is an experience and a journey that is only appreciated by the ones true to the quest. It’s not about the kill. It’s not about the clout. It’s the feeling of being in the moment and soaking it in no matter the situation. You, my friend, have some of, if not the best, dialog and vocal expression of the experience and explanation of true appreciation. My hat’s off to you. Keep doing what you do and no matter what, stay pure with your passion. It’s relieving to many of us public land hunters knowing that there are outdoorsmen out here with us on public that share the same values and ideals. My channel has nowhere near as many followers or views for that matter but I would be honored to connect and collaborate on a public land Turkey hunt. Kudos on an awesome video and congrats on an epic, textbook, bittersweet ending to your season. May the barred owls scream and Tom’s dance at the end of your barrel. Thanks for being real dude.
    ~Slick

I can’t thank you enough for your kind and genuine words. I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon, I’ve found my passion and I don’t intend on quitting. Turkey hunting and specifically making turkey hunting videos is something I plan to do for the rest of my life no matter the views or follows or engagements. I just love it and do it more for myself to reflect and look back on than I do for anything else

Hey Curl. Back to work post season and finally had a chance to catch up on you. Whoever your mentor of the woods may be, I’m certain he is a very proud man. If you’ve discovered this passion strictly on your own, you have every reason to reflect with pride. In either case, you are out there laying the miles down and chasing the spring. Spend as much time as you can building these memories and experiences. Before I was married, at a later age than most. I did exactly that and miss the extra alone time terribly now. I have the luxury of hunting more than most as well. I have a fabulous wife who understands the importance of this particular passion. But, when I’m driving somewhere for a few days, boy does it feel sweet!! So stay at it, don’t be afraid to grab it and hold it dear. And as another gent said, your closing monologue was genuine, engaging, moving and demonstrated a depth of understanding beyond your years. Best to you and I look forward to your next turkey hunts.

Thank you so much for the kind words my man. They mean a whole hell of a lot to me. I’m self taught as a turkey hunter and lucky for me I’ve been documenting it all since it’s inception and I’ve got no plans to ever stop. I’m not entirely sure why this passion has such a grip on me but am I ever glad that it does. I’m glad people enjoy watching these videos, I really only make them for myself to look back on and relive them but I hope people continue to enjoy them because I’m going to be doing this for a long long time. Thank you Phil, and have as good of an off-season as possible

Happy to hear your self taught, as am I. Spent a lot of time in the hills of western MA as a younger man, trying to figure these beautiful creatures out. And that last bird was a beauty indeed Curl!! I will continue to observe your growth as a turkey hunter and enjoy your articulating about the process and how each hunt and bird moves your spirit. Take care.

One last note. I have mentioned to you a book, The Tenth Legion by Col. Tom Kelly. He is referred to as the poet laureate of turkey hunting. I repeat this, as you mentioned being gripped by a passion that you cannot shake or understand why, but love it still. His book elaborates on exactly this subject!!! Read and enjoy!!!

Hello Curl! Just wanted to check in on you. Are you deer hunting at all? But, really I wanted to inquire about any future turkey hunts being posted at some point? I have seen that many folks like to hold some back, to prime us addicts up for the next season. Damn it’s like the cartel knows they got you and are just looking to drive the price up!!! Lol. Here’s hoping you can do a guy a favor and maybe slip us a little sumpn’ boss??!! 😂😉💥🦃. Take care.

Haha I might try posting a few deer/duck videos this fall but I’m finishing up my degree, working full time and getting married this fall so I’m pretty booked! All my grand plans are saved up for the spring. And yes I’ve got loads of content from last spring that I’m holding onto currently. You can expect around 13 more videos to drop starting sometime in February of 2024. Maybe I’ll let a turkey vid or 2 fly a little early but we’ll see! Thanks for checking in Phil!
