What an amazing interview. Simply brilliant. Like going through National Hunt history with the people who witnessed and were also a part of it. Obviously Nicky is one of this country's greatest trainers and to hear his story is just fantastic. Add to that the mercurial Alistair Down and it becomes a feast of historical information. From a personal point of view, I have an abiding memory etched in my mind, of Alistair Down on the 'Morning Line', imploring us to visit our local bookmaker, with a wheelbarrow full of money and put it on the Nigel Twistor-Davies trained 'Mister Morose', at 25/1. This I duly did and was delighted to watch the horse win, by a considerable margin.I haven't had a tip like that since.

Great bloke Nicky, has got uptight sometimes in the open day Easter,going for the press,. Seen him happily merry drunk at Cheltenham races after, a few times

It's the same in every sport the pundits think they know better than the people doing the job. It's not bottling it pulling your horse out of a race if it's not ready, it's called being responsible and doing what's best for the horse and owner's.

Superb interview. You just know Nicky was referring to Graham Smug Cunningham, Lydia Righteous Hislop; as well as Kevin Syrup Blake. These three let themselves down, badly. Firstly, Cunningham on his lightweight Sporting Life Podcast accused Henderson of running scared. Aren't journos supposed to report FACTS? Perhaps because Patrick Mullins was on the same podcast and there was a love-in. Cunningham is far too smug for my liking. Then we have Hislop, who, incredibly cited that the betting industry would be harmed by such a withdrawal. Very poor, I have to say. When Willie Mullins withdrew Al Boum Photo and Appreciate It, she never uttered a single word. No one seems to have the cojones to take Mullins to task. They all hide behind that absurd "creature of habit" narrative. Then, last but not least, it is the chief Henderson basher himself: Blake. His attitude towards Nicky on the BetUNfair podcast is beyond belief, with a choice of vocabulary that can only be described as CRASS. Blake clearly has an agenda with racing in the UK, too. Blake should not be allowed to work in the UK given his terrible attitude. All of the aforementioned witnessed Al Boum Photo on New Year's Day at Tramore and the running of its stable mates, and none of them even mentioned it. Pick your easy targets, or what!!
Kevin Blake is a genius. His knowledge of a horses breeding, ability and potential is a gift bestowed on few of us. Do you have a problem with Irish people working in the UK? The Kevin Blake that ALL TV RACING VIEWERS know and respect is genial, honest and has a very professional ATTITUDE. RSVP.

Blake frequently rubbishes UK horse racing, together with bashing Nicky Henderson, so you need to keep up, son. Irish people are wonderful, but, if Blake is going to continuously hammer UK racing and Henderson, he should not be drawing a wage from it. Now, run along and pass on this message, foot soldier.
