I have been following horse racing since 1961 and I've seen all the great hurdlers such as Persian War, Bula, See You Then, Istabraq et all. But none of them have made such a deep impression on me as much as Constitution Hill's win in the 2022 Champion Hurdle. I just hope that CH has recaptured that brilliance of two years ago, if he has then State Man and Lossiemouth will have it all to do to lower his colours next March.

Such an open, frank and exhaustive interview. Nicky uses a range of self-evaluation to describe his decision-making: forward-thinking, fear, hope, self-approval, self-criticism, learning from mistakes, even FTW's 40+ years ago. Only with this range do objectivity and truth emerge. I learnt at just how many levels he has to think professionally for each individual horse. It is sad to see the critical comments here about some aspects of Nicky's comments. Just look at the Irish domination at Cheltenham in March and again in October 2024. His complaints are clearly justified because the British can barely lay a glove on the Irish now. Thank you for the generous sharing.

It’s all messed up ; when Hendersons good horses do run in a chase other good ones from Nichols etc won’t run against them and Henderson won’t clash with the other good trainers novices and then theres the ground prevrance ; But in Ireland they just run against each other the big trainers

Could British trainers not send a horse to one of the Irish Novices if the programme is so bad.... or are they just afraid of early clashes. Irish trainers come over here all the time for beginners chases yeats star did it on Saturday and got trounced but still turned up at Cheltenham. Maybe it's not financially viable but if you have a good horse on your hands then pitch him in at leopardstown or something to see where they stand against the Irish?

I've seen trainers who have some of the highest earnings but wear less than suitable attire conversely, Mr. O' Brien is wearing a well made suit and looks very successful.

Good luck Mr O'Brien best trainer I've seen in my fifty years of watching British horse racing.

Such a well spoken man, been in the game a long time. Says he's the best horse to ever step into his stable. So for me that's enough. Himself jockey and all his team have a big ask. Does'nt matter about the Jockey on the dirt he is the best. Everybody loves a Champion Racehorse. He will win.

There is no doubt in my mind "City Of Troy" has the class, has the stamina and speed to lead the classic field.....when it comes to the business end he holds off all challenge's and wins comfortably.

This could be a potential special moment for City of Troy .Hope this will be his best race.

And the Americans are going to rock him right back to sleep😂😂

Everyone loves Aidan, the man is someone we can all look up to and aspire to be like, he oozes CLASS! Regarding cot my gut feeling is he won't like the dirt and will finish mid division, i like fierceness in the race.

Tucked away in third, pounce. He wants the fastest early pace possible.

AOB is legend simple as that.... his management skills are out of this world... just think about what he has achieved........ absolute legendary and has been for years........

I believe mr O’Brien would not take this chance if he didn’t feel he could race on dirt.You know he has been training on dirt for this race and I think he will excell on dirt and if he does watch out.I feel equally that forever young is as good as city of Troy.So there is my exacta box and my top 2 Horse in my trifecta and super bets,

If he comes off that final turn on or near the lead, that means he's handled the dirt fine for 8+F, so then the race becomes about ability, and City of Troy has as much as any horse lining up in the BC Classic field. American, Japanese, or otherwise.
