Es war der perfekte Abschied für Marco Reus: In seinem letzten Heimspiel feierte Borussia Dortmund in der Fußball-Bundesliga einen deutlichen Sieg gegen den SV Darmstadt 98. Die Klub-Legende war zum Abschluss der Saison in der Fußball-Bundesliga beim 4:0 (2:0) am Samstag (18.05.2024) Torschütze und Vorbereiter.
Das Skript war schon deutlich vor dem Anpfiff geschrieben. Der Plan war: Über 80.000 Fans verabschieden Reus vor seinem letzten Heimspiel nach zwölf Jahren beim BVB, als Kapitän führt er sein Team auf den Platz und erzielt mindestens ein Tor bei einem Sieg gegen Darmstadt - und genau so kam es. Und noch ein Stück mehr.

In seinem letzten Heimspiel als Spieler von Borussia Dortmund ist Marco Reus von den Fans mit einer großen Choreografie verabschiedet worden. Zudem durfte er den BVB zum Abschied noch mal als Kapitän aufs Feld führen.
Die Fans von Borussia Dortmund haben Marco Reus mit einer Choreografie verabschiedet. Vor seinem letzten Heimspiel für seinen Heimatklub war das Trikot mit der Nummer 11 des in der Revierstadt als Kultspieler verehrten Offensivspielers auf der Südtribüne zu sehen. Der gebürtige Dortmunder (34), dessen im Sommer auslaufender Vertrag beim Bundesligisten nicht verlängert wird, bestritt gegen Darmstadt (4:0) sein 294. Bundesliga-Spiel und erzielte dabei sein 120. Tor im schwarz-gelben Trikot.
In seinem letzten Spiel im Signal-Iduna-Park führte Reus den BVB als Kapitän aufs Feld. Vor der Saison hatte er die Spielführerbinde freiwillig abgegeben, woraufhin Trainer Edin Terzic Mittelfeldspieler Emre Can zu seinem Nachfolger ernannte.

Dortmund Marco final game with win
Borussia Dortmund ended their Bundesliga season with a morale-boosting 4-0 win over SV Darmstadt 98, as BVB prepare for the UEFA Champions League (UCL) final against Real Madrid.
With their UCL spot for next season already tied up, Dortmund went into their final domestic game with nothing to play for other than using it as a fine-tuning exercise ahead of their showpiece final in two weeks' time. Darmstadt also had their destiny determined, with a relegation to Germany’s second tier confirmed. Right from the off, the hosts got off to a dominant start with Marco Reus looking dangerous in his last appearance as a Dortmund player at Signal Iduna Park.
The away side weathered the Schwarzgelben storm that was peppering their goal until the half-hour mark when Ian Maatsen was fed by Reus on the edge of the box, allowing the full-back to drill a low effort into the bottom corner. That was the breakthrough moment as the hosts doubled their lead eight minutes later, and this time the creator turned goalscorer as Reus curled a sublime free-kick over the wall to give Edin Terzić’s side a 2-0 lead going into the break.
Following the restart, the same theme continued with one-way traffic towards the Darmstadt goal as the home side went in search of a third goal to end the contest. Karim Adeyemi came close to delivering that just before the hour mark but his effort was superbly saved by Marcel Schuhen. The Dortmund boss turned to his bench and one of those introduced, Julian Brandt, made an immediate impact, curling a shot inside the post to net the third Dortmund goal after being picked out by Jadon Sancho in the box.
The Signal Iduna Park came to a standing ovation 10 minutes from time as Reus made his way from the pitch to a guard of honour as he marked his final Bundesliga appearance as a Dortmund player with a goal and assist. With emotions running high in the stands, the game petered out with the hosts completing the rout with a fourth goal in the 88th minute as Donyell Malen pounced on a loose ball in the box to tap home and complete a simple afternoon. Die Schwarzgelben finish the campaign in fifth place while Darmstadt remain bottom of the league.
