What is your draw length, draw weight, arrow weight and point weight? Just curious what the actual spine chart would call for on your setup and how far you deviated from the recommendation.
Gotto love this guy all i can say ... :) I actually went the other way .... i shoot field n target... i shortened DL from 29 1/2 to 29 and my DW is 58lbs I was shooting 350 and cutting them to 27 1/2 not good, so i decided get weaker arrow and cut it makes it stiffer i'm shooting 500 with 100 gr point at 27 1/2 they fly like needles ....... just a thought Angus! i'm getting less left n rights and also a lot less arrow drop and flatter lines..... I also do the Hill Method and and still my 500 @ 58lbs fly crazy fast and flat .... BTW good shooting .... on the wk-end ...keep up the great work!
Oh wow! That's surprising! I haven't ever mess with anything that weak before but that's interesting and I'm glad it's working for you. Maybe I'll play with that one day! 🙂
@@AngusMoss_Archery We stiffen the arrows by cutting and adding heavy tips .... math says get a weaker arrow use less point weight, cut them a lil shorter as much as u can ....
@@yvantomac9502 I hear you. I usually cut to the rest no matter what spine so on my end I don't have any room to stiffen by cutting. I might be able to drop 20 grains off the front but I'm thinking that FOC is gonna be a big problem the weaker you get.. I'm not a dramatic FOC guy but I do think it's important to keep it around 11-12%
So with the 300 spine are you still cutting just past the rest and running 4 fletch at 2* left offset? How much weight up front? I ran 100+30 up front this last weekend with 350 and I’ve also ran the 300 thanks it was good to see you bro
Hey man! Yeah I'm still cutting right at the rest. Right now I'm shooting a 3 fletch for the 3D arrows but thats only to improve my FOC to 10%. Other wise I'd be shooting 4 fletch. I got a 120 up front right now though 🙂
Very impressed you have gotten 3-4 years out of your targets, granted you have a 5 core. I killed my 14" core in 6-8wks, Rotating the core and shooting all over the target., not just the ctr. Doesn't help I am also shooting a 90lb bow with 600 grain arrows, either. The entire centre of my core about an 8-10" sphere was basically confetti, It definitely lasted longer then my block targets, but for the price and the replacement core price here in Canada, I cannot recommend these to others. Have you tried the Matrix targets? I think they have a brilliant idea with the entire target being able to be rotated to the ctr.
Hey! Dang im sorry to hear you went through it so fast. Yeah, the 90LB and 600 grain arrows probably helped destroy it pretty quick 😂. Sounds like a killer set up though. At least you have the LBS to back up the heavy arrows! But yeah, to be honest I'm not a big fan of the single core 48" Target just because of what you said. Once your core goes out the only option you have is to shoot the body until a replacement shows up. That can be frustrating and tare it up pretty quick. I haven't used the matrix target yet but I have seen it. It looks really good. The only thing that I see being and issue is keeping the strap tight enough around it after you shoot holes in some of the cores. Once there is vacant space in multiple cores and you start tightening down the strap im woundering if it'll be an issue. especially in the summer when it's hot and softens the foam.. idk though and they do have a pretty good concept! 🙂 God bless!

I Feel like they correct themselves a lot faster
What do you mean?

Awesome! Looks like you need a new base!
Yeah I have one out there still though 🙂
Great video. Keep up the hard work.
Thanks dad!
